"That's another batch of people dead." Zak groaned as they drove back to the police station. Darryl hummed, looking out the window. Vincent sat in the back, and Zak was driving. The car grew silent

"Darryl, you seem awfully calm about this." Vincent stated in the silence. Darryl suddenly couldnt breathe. If he did, it would be too loud and give him away. "No, its just... we've, um, been trying for so long but we cant- cant get any leads." He made up a lie on the spot, not daring turn around to look Vincent in the eye.

"You wouldnt be stuttering if you were telling the truth," Vincent sat up, accusing Darryl.

"Vincent, calm-," Zak started. "No! Darryl has a part in this, I know it!" Vincent raised his voice, his accent getting heavier, as he could talk easier in French.

"N-No, I have nothing to do with this. You know I wouldnt lie, right, Zak?" Darryl turned to Zak, a hopeful and scared look glinted in the olders eyes. Zak didnt look back at him, and swallowed hard.

"Zak...?" Darryl's voice was desperate.

"I'm not in the right mindset for this conversation, you can discuss it with Geo when we get back to the station." Zak sighed, his voice tight. Vincent took a breath in as if he was about to say something, but seemed to drop the topic.

Darryl relaxed, falling a little in his seat. He didnt realize how tensed up that conversation made him.

At the police station, since it was a little ways away.

The trio stepped out of the car, the light of the sun spilling over them.  As they walked inside of the station, they were met with the chief, Geo.

"I heard you had no success this time, either. Am I correct?" Geo asked, his British accent disapproving. Zak stayed silent, nodding his head and lowering his eyes to the floor.

"No, sir. But I have a suspicion." Vincent stated, Geo nodding. The French cop lifted an arm, pointing at Darryl. "I suspect Darryls in on the crime!" He shot a glare at the other.

Geo seemed surprised, his expression staying but his eyes widening a little. Darryl wouldnt be the type to do that, but then again looks can be deceiving. Darryl was frozen though, his breathing slow as he tried to act calm and collected.

"Is this true, Darryl?" Geo asked. Darryl shook his head, looking anywhere except into the chiefs eyes. "I wouldnt take part in... a part in that." Darryl hissed, his voice cracking the slightest bit. Geo didnt seem to notice, though, his expression simply became calm again.

"Liar!" Vincent raised his voice, taking a step towards Darryl, his hand on his belt. Where his pistol is, Darryl realized with a jolt.

"V-Vincent, you know I wouldnt do that." Darryl's voice shook and he stuttered, watching as Vincent slid the pistol into his hand. The French man pointed the pistol at Darryl's head, the gun barely brushing his cheek.

"Vincent–," Geo started.

"Tell us now, or I'll pull the trigger." Vincent's voice was cold and menacing, something dark burning in his eyes. Darryl said nothing, and Vincent tugged on the trigger a little bit.

"Okay! OKAY!" Darryl exclaimed, his instincts making him duck and cower, his hands above his head.

"I- I do know some things."
