Episode 38

Hey random question guys: What are your guys theories on the ending and is there any requests? I'm basically almost done with the whole book and I want to know if there's any battles or dialogue you guys want.

"But why corrupt all these bladers? There is no point if everyone is corrupted because then there would be no good ones left to fight." said Rantaro

Theodore's confidence wavered for a second.

"You see, Rantaro, that's the problem with perspective. Many of you bladers have grown up on the idea that corruption is like a disease. An evil vile thing that rots the person from the inside out when really it empowers us. Making us stronger and now you'll truly know the power of perspective."

Stepping aside, Rantaro had lost all confidence in getting through to Theodore. But now with Brown Eye looking down on him he had just found his newest opportunity.

Shu may also be Valt's friend but Rantaro was Valts best friend and oldest friend and if anyone was going to try to get through to him it was Rantaro.

"Don't do this Valt,"

Brown Eye stopped in his tracks. His eyes glowed with power serving as a warning.

"Valt please, think about what you're doing. If you do this then they'll be no coming back once you've crossed that line. Do you really want to do this? Do you really want to lose your friend?"

Rantaro looked Brown Eye straight in his eye begging, pleading for some trace of his old friend.

"He won't be losing you," Theodore said, putting his hand on Brown Eyes' shoulder.

"Instead he'll be gaining another ally."

"But he'll be losing a best friend." Rantaro shot back dead serious.

Brown Eye waited for Theodore to get angry, to threaten him but instead he seemed oddly entrained.

"Like I said before, the power of perspective but to me it's all the same."

Stepping back, Theodore let Brown Eye take the spotlight.

Looking down at Rantaro neither said a word letting the situation speak for itself.

And while Theodore and Rantaro had been talking, Brown Eye had realized something.

One day, Theodore would ensure they all ended up as dark hearted and ruthless as Phi or Red Eye. But looking at Rantaro, Brown Eyes' dark expression wavered. Rantaro, who acted so tough only to be soft on the inside encouraging their teammates and helping younger Bladers by sharing advice. He was living proof that blading was supposed to be fun and at one point so had Brown Eye himself.

Brown Eye blinked, the moment gone. He looked down at Rantaro as if he were a stranger, his face deadening back to that numb and serious expression. Theodore smiled in the background.

But so was Rantaro because for second there he saw his friend again.

"Corruption and evil will never have a future, not when there are bladers like Valt!"

At the mention of his old name Brown Eyes dark power constricted around Rantaro turning both his eyes and resonance purple.

In his last seconds, Rantaro could see the dark pleasure in Brown Eyes' face, the hardness in his face warping into something deeper and scarier. Suddenly his hope of convincing Valt to not corrupt him seemed naive and impossible. Because there was no good in Valt anymore.

And eventually he felt Phi or rather Brown's Eye's new power work it's way into him until his body relaxed and little spark in Rantaro's eyes dimmed as he fell to the ground.

"In a way it's almost like watching someone die, the way their body just gives up being overwhelmed by the power." Theodore said quietly looking down at Rantaro.

Slowly he stood up and there was a new purpose and obedience in his eyes and serious expression on his face. The dark power was still very much present around him.

"Now then, Brown Eye, my apprentice, I trust you'll get our newest blader settled..."

"Yes, master."

Brown Eye said nothing as he and Rantaro walked out of the cell.

Once they were gone Theodore's composure wavered and the exhaustion came back bringing on a headache.

Stepping out of the cell he turned to all of the captured bladers and BC Sol's bladers that didn't escape.

"Let this be both a lesson and example to you all. No longer will the Snake Pit rely on machines to corrupt bladers. Instead now, Brown Eye will be our new corruptor." He said darkly.

Nobody said a word as he closed the door behind him and continued down the hallway.

Frustration and anger clenched his fists, when Brown Eye wasn't in the room Theodore had tried to interrogate the hot headed blader. Trying to get out any sort of information on where the rest of BC Sols bladers were and where Red Eye had his crew had run off too.

But alas, Rantaro wasn't going to give him anything but even if he didn't he knew the young blader had no information because he didn't know where they were.

But in the end it didn't matter because Theodore already knew that in order to stop him Shu was going to have to come to him, free Valt, and shut off his machine or so he thought.

But now with Brown Eye growing closer and closer to sealing his place in the Snake Pit his thirst for using his power would grow too. And yet something nagged at Theodore.

The way Brown Eye just corrupted Rantaro so cleanly it almost seemed a little too easy for him. And it was perplexing considering he had never once used Phi's power.

But now with Brown Eye using his power often only one test remained for Theodore to truly be confident in Brown Eye's loyalty but unlike the other tests this one would be another day and time.

Walking down the hallway Theodore's stability was starting to waver as was his focus. The exhaustion was catching up and he desperately needed to lay down.

But instead he pressed on knowing the cure was right around the corner.

But making it to his destination was all worth it.

A large room full of bey parts, machines and welding torches all for the purpose of upgrading beys.

Walking over the machine in the corner his new bey was now complete. By merging the powers of Phoenix, Hades and Amaterios making a whole new bey.

In the center his original avatar could be seen in the center but instead it was Silver. The main color scheme was black and purple but all around the outer layer was silver.

Feeling the bey, the rough edges gave him delight.

Slowly, a wide grin spread across his face darkening into a smile.

"Forbidden Amaterios." He said.

His laughing echoed through the room as he could feel the power restoring him.
