Warning: This chapter is a bit more intense and I guess scary but it is almost Halloween. I hope you guys enjoy!

In the stadium, Valtryek sped faster and faster but gaining behind it almost all of the Snake Pit's beys chased Valtryek, determined to be the one to beat it.

Sitting in the shadows of the background, Theodore watched, not daring to take his eyes off of Brown Eyes' power.

"Dark Move, Venging Strike Launch."

In a blink of an eye Valtryek changed trajectory ripping through the line of beys sending them flying into the air bursting into pieces.

The other bladers surrounding the stadium let out cry's of defeat cursing Valtryek.

The beys leftover from the carnage retreated to the other side back to their bladers.

Brown Eye lowered his head and his dark power started to build up. The brown eye holes of the mask started glowing causing the remaining bladers to worry.

Leaving those from the Dread Tower Tournament Valtryek circled the outer ring like a predator hunting its prey.

"None of you are worthy!" Brown Eye yelled.

Speeding into the center Valtryek collided with the rest. The dark power exploded from the bey causing the beys it was colliding with to go flying in the air.

Some hit the stadium wall bursting while others landed outside the stadium.

But Brown Eyes' power was still on as he caught Valtryek. The other bladers in the room slowly backed away in fear.

"I need more..."

Theodore sat at his desk looking down at Brown Eye who seemed to be lost in his own world.

"I'm surprised Hae-Jin, Kyle and Joe got out first although considering Kyle was just a follower to Hyde...But I am surprised Pheng, Blindt and Laban lasted longer than the others. Too bad Xavier and Kit weren't here they could've at least possibly been a challenge."

"Although I must say your power is growing... and now being able to attack in close range, each attack is as powerful as a normal special move..."

"But I won didn't I?"

"Yes but it'll never be enough for someone like you."

The room quieted and the lights dimmed, Brown Eyes dark power lit the room as he stood up. His head tilted and the eye holes of the mask started glowing.

"How would you know? I don't need you Theodore, you need me. Don't mess with me on this."

"Don't mess with me." Theodore echoed.

That was a step too far. Theodore stood up, knocking over his chair. Theodore had gone from calm and contained to crazy in a heartbeat.

Holding out his hand his voice got dark and his grip tightened around Brown Eye.

"Venge Valtryek has done its job and now it's time for it to change along with you."

He chucked but it didn't seem like he found Brown Eye funny instead he sounded furious.

"This Snake Pit has secrets darker than you can ever imagine. There are things that are meant to stay secret. Don't you know how many groups, how many teams, how many friends have dumped corrupted bladers on my doorstep? I'm doing them all a favor by controlling them. Imagine what real damage they would be able to do if it they weren't. Many of the other bladers say I kidnap you, steal you, take you away. But the truth is I free you. You deserve the chance to embrace and know who you are."

Dropping Brown Eye on the ground he looked up at him.

"The truth is I don't need you, one less blader would be easy to deal with but instead I want the power you stole from Phi. But even that is being taken care of thanks to his little project from the Dread Tower. Face it Brown Eye, you're expendable, no matter how powerful you are but... I'm a merciful man and I'll let that one slide."

Pulling his chair back up Theodore sat back down and both bladers power died down. The only sound that filled the room was the twiddling of Theodore's fingers.

"I could always punish you again by sending you through more of those rooms...but instead."

Getting up out of his chair Theodore started circling Valt like a shark.

"I'll let you keep Phi's power for now but I think it's time you've learned how to use it."

Going over to the door he unlocked it and started going down the hallway with Brown Eye following from behind.

"Haven't you ever wondered why we don't have a basement?"

Looking down Brown Eye seemed to be in his own world but Theodore knew he was listening.

"Most bladers think it's because in some way this bunker is like a basement considering it's underground. But the truth is we have a basement that not many bladers know about or need to."

Passing the elevator he descended down the stairs locking the door behind him.

"You see when bladers are corrupted the reactions and...symptoms are always different for each blader. There are different stages and thus different power levels. For instance, there's the beginning stages like anger and fear. But then after that the different stages get complicated."

The staircase darkened as they neared the basement.

"For some bladers they can handle the power and thus are able to be on the above levels working to get stronger. And then there are those that can't handle it..."

Stopping at the door Theodore turned to Brown Eye.

"But another thing bladers don't know about the basement is that it isn't a basement at all instead it's a tunnel. A tunnel that connects to the other Snake Pits. Your assignment is to make it through the tunnel and use it to get to the other Snake Pit I showed you earlier."

"What does this have to do with Phi's power?"

Smiling Theodore opened the door to a long, cold, wet damp rectangular basement. A light could barely be seen at the end flickering and through the other hallways. Drops of water were the only sound but emerging from the shadowy figures started to form.

"They often say a man creates his own demons...You see Brown Eye, those who can't handle the power are forced to come down here. These are the bladers way past Gone." He said making the word gone sound like a place.

Then others appeared out of the depths of the basement. Girls but mostly boys dragging themselves out of the darkness, all just as gone and cruel. Their eyes were glowing but were also full of madness and inhumanity. Their bodies and clothes were torn up, injured and bleeding.

"Corruption can make you stronger in many ways but it can also drive you insane, no less turning you into an animal. Incapable of feeling basic human emotions like empathy...Now then, prove you can handle and wield Phi's power in his absence or..."

Pushing Brown Eye into the tunnel he looked back at Theodore.

"Suffer." He said locking the door.

Not even getting up the staircase he could hear screams and cries for help.
