Ezra and Maul clashed their lightsabers together. They were dueling to the death, Maul manipulated Ezra, kidnapped his friends, and now threatened Sabines family and home, he has gone too far and Ezra had enough of it. "I can feel your frear, Ezra." Maul said "of you? Yeah right." Ezra said back. Maul attacked Ezra with a series of lightsaber attacks and Ezra quickly defended each one. As their lightsabers connected they both use the force to push each other back. They both fell on the ground, Maul quickly got up and attacked Ezra while he was down but Ezra force pushed him back and jumped up. "Very good Ezra. Your skills with the force and a lightsaber is truly remarkable. But I can sense your struggle."

"Shut up!!!" Ezra yelled and attacked Maul head on full of anger. "Yes use your anger let it fuel you become more powerful than ever." Maul said. Maul jumped over Ezra and kick him in the back and Ezra fell on the ground. Everyone watched as the two powerful force wielders fought. Out of everyone Sabine was the most worried, she knew what Maul was capable of and was afraid for Ezra but she had to keep a brave face on, she didn't want to think of what would happen if Ezra lost.

Maul was able to swing Ezras lightsaber out of his hand and Maul went for the attack. Although Maul's attacks was powerful and fierce, Ezra was quick and agile. He dodged all Maul's attacks and used the force to push him back against the wall. Ezra grabbed his lightsaber and went for the attack but Maul dodged with ease. "You're getting sloppy Ezra stop holding back your power and use it or else someone dies." Maul said. Ezra was getting angry at Mauls words but he wouldn't let Maul win, 'don't let Maul get in your head Ezra, focus everyone is depending on you' he said in his head.

While Ezra was fighting to take down Maul but Maul was just toying with Ezra. Maul threw his lightsaber at Ezra who in return jumped out of the way, but Maul used all his force power to push Ezra out of the window. "Ezra!" Sabine yelled.

Ezra landed on the ground outside of the palace and Maul followed him out the window. Everyone else ran outside and saw Maul approaching Ezra who was still on the ground. "Ah Karabast. I feel so helpless we have to do something." Zeb said clutching his bo-rife. "Kanan please help him." Sabine said. But Kanan shook his head no, "Maul made it clear that he will kill everyone who interfere with this and as much as I want to, I can't help Ezra." "But Kanan..." Sabine protested but Hera cut her off. "Kanan's right Sabine we need to trust that Ezra is able to defeat him and walk away alive." "Do you trust him?" Kanan asked. "Of course I trust him." Sabine answered, "good then trust he'll succeed." Even though Kanan was right Sabine still had worry in her eyes. Hera placed a hand on Sabines shoulder and gave her a reassuring squeezed.

Ezra sat up and face Maul. "Ah Ezra still weak as ever." Ezra looked down and then at everyone else. "Come on Ez, get up." Sabine whispered and somehow Ezra heard her and started to get up. "Ah yes still a fighting spirit." Maul said. Ezra got up and grabbed his lightsaber and swung it at Maul. They clashed more and more, it was hard to tell who was gonna win, Ezra power was starting to overwhelm Maul and Maul's lightsaber skills was being overpower. Maul used all his power to jump over Ezra. Ezra tried to block but he was stabbed in the side by Maul. "EZRA!!!" Sabine yelled and had tears in her eyes. Ezra fell to his knees clutching his side. Maul placed a hand on Ezras head, "ah apprentice and now this is how it ends but before you die, I will make you watch as I kill your friends and love." Maul walked towards the others with an evil laugh. Ezra looked at Sabine and she had fear in her eyes. Although he was in pain he still got back up. "N-no! As long as I'm still breathing you will not hurt them." Maul turned to face him, "them those words will be the last you breathe!" He said and charged at him. Ezra used what power he had left and swung his lightsaber at Maul cutting off his arm. Maul yelled in pain and fell to his knees, Ezra grabbed Maul's lightsaber and put both lightsabers at Mauls neck. Maul laughed and said "good yes good Ezra kill me. Kill me now or I will return to kill your friends your master and your love." Ezra's anger rose beyond the limits and his eyes turned yellow for a second and sliced Mauls head off. Ezra dropped both lightsabers and turned to see Sabine and the others running over to him and then he blacked out.

Sabine was the first to run towards ezra with tears in her eyes, she kneeled down and hugged Ezra's unconscious body crying. "Ezra please don't leave me, I love you and I need you, please." Sabine pleaded in sobs. Kanan kneeled down to check his pulse. "He's alive but we need to get him to a medical center." "Theirs one inside the palace but we need to hurry." Bo-katan said. They got Ezra on a stretcher and raced to the med center in the palace. Sabine was next to Ezra clutching his hand. "Please stay with us, Ez." She said. When they got their the medics told everyone to wait out side while they work on Ezra. Sabine sat in a chair outside the room crying, Hera sat down next to her and hugged her in comfort. "Don't worry Sabine he'll make it." She said.

Thirty minutes later

Everyone was outside Ezra room waiting for someone to come out and tell them something. Then a medic walked out and Sabine was the first up "how is he?" She asked. "He is stable. He is lucky to be alive, the blade missed his vital organs, but he is still unconscious and it is uncertain when he'll wake up." He said. "Can we go see him?" She asked and the medic nodded and stepped out of the way. Everyone went inside the room to see Ezra on a bed sleeping. Sabine sat next to him and held his hand and the crew stood behind her. Sabine had a small smile on her face and said "he's always cute when he sleeps. But now I'm just worry he might be like this for a long time" "Don't worry Sabine he'll pull through." Kanan said "yeah the kid's tough in every way." Zeb added. "And you know that he will make it." Hera said. Sabine gave a side smile and placed a kiss on Ezra's forehead.

One month later

Ezra woke up in a white room on a bed he sat up and looked around and he was alone, then a medic came in the room. "Oh Mr. Bridger you're awake" he said. "What happened?" Ezra asked. "You were in a battle with Maul and you were injured. You've been out for a month." The medic answered. "Where is everyone?" "In the throne room. You are free to leave if you want." "Thank you." Ezra walked out of the room and headed for the throne room. He made it to the throne room and looked through the window and saw Bo-katan, Ursa, Tristan, the crew and Sabine. He smiled and entered the room. They were all talking when Ursa saw Ezra entered. Hera turned around and saw him and smile, "Ezra!" She said and everyone looked at the door. "Hey guys, missed me" Ezra said. Sabine was the first to run towards Ezra and hugged him tight, "I was worried sick about you, you idiot!" Sabine said with tears of joy. "Whoa Sabine you're starting to act like Hera." Ezra said laughing. Hera also came over and hugged Ezra, "at least you know who loves and will always worry about you, Ez." She said. "It's good to have you back kid" Zeb said, "you had us worried." Kanan added.
"Yeah after that last attack from Maul I thought I wasn't gonna make it, but you know what gave me the strength to keep fighting?" "What?" Sabine asked "all of you, especially you Sabine" he said and kissed her.
