"hey guys" Pidge said with a smile as she walked over to the rest after her second slow dance with James. "did you have fun" shiro asked with a smirk. "depends did you guys have fun, I saw you all slow dancing before" Pidge smirked back making the rest smile. "well we all only slow dance once unlike you" allura said with a smile. "you got me their" pidge smiled and rubbed her arm. "so is it love" hunk joked making Pidge playfully hit him. "you wish, we just friends who didnt feel like standing still" Pidge said with a smile. "sure and the next thing you be saying is its a friendship kiss not a lover kiss" Keith smirked and pidge pouted as the rest laughed. "well it seems we have a couple more soldiers waiting for a dance with us" coran said with a small smile and everyone sighed as they looked to the group. Pidge frowned as she noticed no one wanted to dance with her yet again and just watched as the rest started to go over to the people in waiting. Lance notice the short number and turned to see who didnt have a partner yet before seeing pidge stand their shyly and frowning. 

"may I have this dance, princess" lance said with a kind smile and bowed like a prince. "what about the girl, she was waiting to dance with you" Pidge said shocked and lance smiled. "I rather dance with you then another stranger so may I" Lance asked with a sweet smile and pidge took his hand. "you may my prince" Pidge giggled and the two walked over to the dance floor, it was slow but also fast, It swap between the two. "excited for our little race later" Lance asked with a smile and he pulled Pidge closer for the slow part of the song. "depends, are you ready to lose" Pidge smiled and rested her head on Lance chest as he rested his head on top of hers. Their hands relaxed in the other like they always been together, two half's making a whole. "you really do look beautiful tonight, all these guys are stupid for not daring to ask someone so pretty to dance" Lance said with a bright warm smile making Pidge smile and blush. "thanks lance, I needed that" Pidge smiled and lance blushed a little. 

LATER THAT NIGHT, AFTER THE PARTY AND AFTER MOST WAS ASLEEP. 

Pidge already gotten two hover trolleys out ready and was waiting for lance to sneak over. He was five minutes late but he did have to sneak around the guards to get to her since his room was placed on the other side of the base and he was sharing with keith. Pidge room was on the side of the base they were meeting so she didnt have to use much to sneak over and miss the guards. She heard footsteps heading her way and got a little excited but it soon faded as she saw keith walking round the corner. "keith" Pidge said with a small smile but she was disappoint to see him not lance. "nice to see you too, where lance" Keith asked since he was the reason he had to try this. 

"he didnt come with you" pidge asked a little worried. "I was training and so we said we meet here" keith said crossing his arms. "well I guess he still sneaking pass some guards, why dont we have a small race in this hall so you can try it" Pidge smiled and walked over to the two trolleys. "sure but only one go and then I'm leaving" Keith sighed. "deal but if you enjoy it then your welcome to join us next time" Pidge smiled and the two jumped on different trolleys. "why next time" keith asked since she and lance was gonna mess around tonight. "well me and lance as gonna have a race and well it was only gonna be the two of us" Pidge mumble and keith rolled his eyes. "I get it, tonight is for you two to bond and mess around like the old days" keith smiled and pidge nodded with a small smile. "well lets see if your any good newbie" Pidge giggled and Keith smirked. "like I lose to you" keith smirked and the two started to race down the hall. 

Of course Pidge won since she and Lance messed around all the time with these things and knew all the tricks. Keith wasn't gonna say it out loud but he did enjoy himself and wont mind joining them next time. "well I'm going to bed, if you two are gonna stay up all night dont let the others find out" Keith smiled. "like I get caught so easy" Pidge grinned and pushed her glasses up. "dont forget you be with lance" Keith laughed. "ah you got me their" Pidge sighed making Keith laugh more. "well night" Pidge grinned and waved. "night, if I find him sleeping I wake him up and send him your way" Keith grinned since he and lance was sharing a room. "thanks" Pidge smiled and keith started to walk away but stopped. 

"you better not lose to that idiot" Keith said with a smirk. "the day I lose to him is the day I stop being a nerd" Pidge said with a smirk. "good and I want all the details about how badly he lost in the morning" Keith grinned and started walking again leaving Pidge alone by the two trolleys. Soon ten minutes pass then twenty minutes and soon a whole hour passed but still no lance. Pidge tried to communicate with him by their watches but he never answer leaving her alone waiting. After two hour passed Pidge gave up and took the trolleys away. She wasn't gonna lie, she wanted to cry. 

She was really looking forward to meeting with lance and messing around once again.

She was looking forward to laugh and joke with him.

She looked forward to seeing his smile and hearing his voice.

She looked forwards to seeing him.

Seeing Lance.

Yet he never came.

The next morning came and the paladins was meeting up in a different meeting room before talking about the day plan. They have planed to visit the city and walk around so people could see them, talk to them and to be given hope.

Pidge was upset, she was angry, she was hurt and yet lance was his normal idiot self. Pidge stayed near the back not talking to anyone and no one seemed to notice she was different well apart from keith who noticed she didnt even laugh at lance being an idiot like normal. As they started walking to the car to be driven to town keith slowed down to walk with Pidge who walked behind the rest.

"hey" keith said with worry as he noticed Pidge hasn't really lifted her head today. "hi" Pidge sighed and looked up and keith was shocked to see Pidge face. Yes they seen her crying face, her angry face, her upset face, her happy face, her smart face, her scared face and her bright normal face but he never seen her hurt face not like this.

"what wrong" keith asked with worry and Pidge dropped her head again, he was glad the paladins was wearing their armour again and helmets so unless they stood next to her no one would notice pidge face. "its nothing, I was just an idiot" pidge said with sadden eyes. "did something happen with lance at last night race" keith asked with worry. "what race, you need two people to race" pidge hissed and it clicked in keith, Lance must have never came making Pidge wait all alone excited. "I'm sure something came up or something, he wouldn't have left you hanging are making such a big deal over it" Keith said trying to cheer her up.

"yeah he was found making out with a female soldier last night by the guards instead of hanging out with me" Pidge said as she placed a hand over her chest, she was hurt. "did he tell you or" Keith started to ask. "i found out before the meeting since shiro was talking to him about it and telling him not to be wondering out after hours again" Pidge hissed with anger and keith knew it was best to stop asking. 

They reached the city and all seven of them walked around smiling or waving until someone would walk up to them. They take photos with people who asked or just chatted with some. Hand shakes, hugs and laughter could be seen and heard around all give paladins, allura and coran. Pidge mostly have children come over to her asking for a hug what she gave since she knew she couldn't push her anger onto innocent kids. Some older teens or adults walked over to her as the others started to get surrounded by people but they were mostly asking her to help them push to the front of the line or to pass things on to the others for them. She had a couple of older teens then her talk with her but they were mostly asking if she really was a girl and not just a boy. Most was making fun of her height or being rube about her height or how smart she was. Many girls and guys said she didnt deserve to be the green paladin since she didnt fit in or was worth the same as the rest in her team and should hand the green lion but Pidge just took it knowing she couldn't yell back. A couple of elderly said a couple of comments about not sure if they feel safe with someone so small or weak looking protecting them and Pidge just took it.

When she finally felt like yelling and killing everyone around her she sneak away and lent of a wall just watching the others be over run with fans. She took a deep breath and took her helmet of. She needed to cool down before talking or well being insulted by anyone else but she knew she wasn't allowed to go to far away from the rest. The wall was nice and cold making her lean her head on it and close her eyes and she calmed down a little. Not caring how she must have looked to anyone since she was more worried about yelling or hitting the next rude person to her. A couple minutes passed and Pidge was calm once again, she placed her helmet back on and walked closer to the others.

She knew not to look at lance knowing she get angry and hurt again. She could hear his flirting and the girls chatting with him well since he was not that far away from where Pidge stood. She would try to walk away so her blood wouldn't boil so much but the people was blocking her way to anyone else in her team and had to wait until shiro yelled telling them they moving to the next street.

The rest of the day took forever to end for Pidge and as soon as they reached the base she walked away to calm herself. She had a couple more kids ask for photos and give them advice how a normal kid could be a cool hero like her and that made her happy but everyone other person who came to us was just rude or insulting her non stop. She was fed up and wanted to yell maybe cry a little as well, so she walked away to calm down before anyone made her lose it. 

"good work, lets go get something to eat" shiro said with a kind smile and everyone was thankful to rest now. "i wonder what earth meal we have this time" Allura said excited. "i hope it these burgers we spelled in the city" coran said excited. "this is an army base, you find nothing that good here" hunk laughed as they walked. "hey, where pidge" Lance said as he noticed his smaller friend missing. "ah she just sent a text, she gone to chill" keith said puzzled since he had no clue why pidge need to go away to chill when she would just sit in the corner or something near the rest when chilling.

"I'm going to go find her" lance said worried and ran off.

"hey" pidge heard a voice say next to her and she looked up from the floor to meet with James eyes. "oh hey, you might not want to come close to me, I'm super pissed and could kill you" Pidge warned and James still sat next to her. "need to talk about it" James asked with worry. "you just laugh or think I'm over reacting" Pidge sighed. "give me a shot" James smiled and Pidge sighed. "fine" Pidge said with a small smile.

"Pidge" Lance said with relief as he saw her sitting in a hall and was going to run over her but noticed James sitting next to her worried. Lance did what any other good friend would so and hid as he listened to what they said. His eyes widen and his heart pained as he listen to Pidge words. She was hurt and he was the reason.

He hurt his best friend just to make out with someone Stanger.

He broke a promise she kept close to her heart.

He wasn't their when she needed him during the day.

She had to bite her lip and suffer the harsh words the people threw at her why he laughed with strangers.

He didnt something terrible and didnt even know about it until now.

He hurt Pidge, the only person he cared most about it

and his heart broke. 

"wow what a day" James said with a frown not sure how to cheer Pidge up. "so got anything that can out do my shitty day" Pidge asked as she turned to Pidge. "i walked into a wall" James slightly smile giving it a shot. "idiot" Pidge sighed and James scratch his head. "sorry I'm not sure what to do" James sighed, he wanted to help but how. "its fine, thanks for listening to me" Pidge smiled and James nodded. "you gonna tell the rest of the team about today and what the people are saying about you" James asked with a worry. "nah, this is my problem and i dont want to drag them down" Shiro said with a small sadden smile. 

"Pidge" Lance said with a small smile trying to act normal and stood at the end of the hall making her jump. "Lance" Pidge said surprised and Lance just laughed. "i know I'm good looking but try not to fall for me" Lance flirted and pidge rolled her eyes. "i guess the lab let another idiot escape" Pidge joked with a small smile making Lance grin. "maybe, well i guess this idiot is your problem" Lance smirked and picked Pidge up and held her in the air. "Lance" Pidge giggled. "ready to eat my princess, your slaves await you" Lance smirked and place Pidge back on the ground. "well of course my prince" Pidge smirked back and Lance just winked. 

"well i see you later, just find me if you need to chat again" James smiled and stood up passing Pidge her laptop. "thanks and take care" Pidge smiled and James smiled and went to leave but noticed the glare lance gave him before leaving. 

"what a pair of idiots" James smiled to himself as he watched the two walk away.
