Episode 4: Break Out Star ~ Part 2

Sorry, this chapter's a bit rushed... -.-;;

After you had calmed down, Kazuna had accompanied you to the waiting room where Yashamaru was before heading back to B-Pro's own room to change.

"Don't worry too much about us," Kazuna had said before parting. "We're used to this kind of thing."

His words hadn't been very comforting. You knew some of the boys weren't hesitant when it came to standing up for their group. That didn't mean that they could be hurt though.

Yashamaru's pacing made you shake the thought out of your head. You heard him mumble while glancing at his wrist watch, "...the concert's about to begin too..."

He must have been talking about the rain. Ever since the guys' practice session onstage, the weather had turned gloomy as dark grey clouds quickly rolled in. And now, rain was pouring heavily, showing no sign of stopping anytime soon. The staff treated it as if it was nothing and continued on with the preparations.

Will they really be able to perform in this kind of weather? you asked yourself.

Your answer was answered when the director said, "Rain or shine, we're going on."

That couldn't have been right. If anyone went out to perform, they would get sick from performing in the rain. Surely the artists' health mattered more than the performance, right?

"Director," you began. "We can't just send our artists out there!"

He replied, not turning around to face you, "It doesn't matter. The show must go on, like I said, rain or shine."

It angered you, not having a say in this. But it wasn't surprising. You were only their composer and nothing more. However, speaking of being their composer--

"It's really coming down," a familiar voice said, not allowing you to finish your thought.

Turning to the entrance, you saw that the B-Pro members had arrived, all of them in uniform except for Ryuji who replaced his top with a pink shirt.

Yashamaru spoke up first, "What are you boys doing?"

"We came to see the opening act," Ryuji said simply.

It didn't seem to bother Yashamaru so he went on, noticing a missing figure. "Where's Tsubasa?" he asked as he looked around amongst them.

"There's...been a problem," Yuta answered without bothering to explain. It was clumsy Tsubasa you were talking about after all so no further explanation was really needed.

Onzai didn't think it was right for this topic to continue and moved on. "It's still not starting?" he asked, bringing to everyone's attention that no other artist was onstage or at least in the waiting room.

"Well, look at this weather," someone said from behind the guys.

Everyone turned to see who this newcomer was and you weren't at all surprised who it was.

Nishiyama was standing there, smiling in his grey trench coat that he had worn since earlier. You hadn't seen him since you left to find Tsubasa and the guys and you even checked his room to see if he was there. He had disappeared to who knows where until now. It had frustrated you to a point that he had gone off somewhere without even telling anyone, you specifically.

"It's no wonder no one's excited about performing under these circumstances. It's only natural," he went on, still managing to keep his smile. Nishiyama made his way through the guys as he took off his coat, revealing a rather unique outfit (search up "TM Revolution Hot Limit" and you have your outfit).

It wasn't anything new though, but the idea of going out in the cold rain in that outfit was insane. Still, Nishiyama didn't seem bothered and said, "I have to go on. Even under these circumstances, the fans are still waiting for us."

The guys were silent for a few moments before Tomohisa spoke up. "We'll go," he said, surprising everyone else. "If this rain were enough to stop us, we wouldn't be able to perform even under clear skies.

"Nishiyama, would it be alright if we performed (first)?" Tomohisa asked finally.

You answered before Nishiyama could, "But the weather! You'll all get sick if you go out in the rain."

Flashing you a smile, Kazuna assured you, "We'll be fine, _____. We're doing this for all those fans who are also waiting in the rain after all."

"B-But," you started again, knowing it was nearly impossible to change their minds. To assure you further, Kazuna placed a hand on your shoulder and looked at you hopefully.

Finally, you have in and gave them a nod. You couldn't help but smile. It was rare to find a bunch like this.

"But what about Ryu(-chan)'S costume?" Yuta asked, pointing out that Ryuji stood out in his pink shirt in the small group of white.

Ryuji just grinned, suggesting he had a plan.

You watched the cameras in awe as the guys made their way up the stairs and onto the stage. What they were about to do was far more daring than Nishiyama performing in his outfit in the rain, yet they went on with it anyway.

As the smoke to signal their entrance faded, you didn't know if you were supposed to look away from the screen. Yashamaru looked at you smugly as you debated against yourself before he and Nishiyama went into a deep conversation. You didn't bother to listen as you were too focused on the guys.

They truly are amazing... you thought, deciding to keep your eyes on the screen. They're so kind with their fans and even me who won't even be able to return their kindness...

"Good work," each of the guys called as they descended down the stairs to the waiting room where you and Tsubasa were waiting to hand out towels. They were still slightly wet from their performances, though they had a chance to dry themselves a bit during their outfit change.

Even though what they did was dumber than dumb, you had to congratulate them. "Great job out there, guys," you said. "I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to perform shirtless in front of everyone like that."

Kento caught the humor in your voice and grinned. "I'd like to see you do that, _____," he said, laughing as your face heated up.

Punching him on the arm, Goshi said, "Move along, pervert. Don't hit on her and just look at your disgusting magazines or something."

As the last of the guys headed out laughing, Yashamaru walked over with a smug look on his face. "Looks like you're all getting along quite well," he said, crossing his arms.

"Better than I expected," you said with a sigh. You smiled sadly, thinking just how painful the future would be as you got closer to each of them.

"Dad, you don't need to call every other day," you said, making sure your voice was low so no one could hear. "And for the fifth time, it's not time yet..."

The person on the other end of the line replied impatiently, "I don't understand why you took up that job in the first place."

"I've explained it to you and Mom multiple times already."

"What's so special about those boys that made you leave for Japan anyway?"

"You wouldn't get it, Dad..." you said looking at the guys longingly as they laughed at Yashamaru who seemed to have made a mistake.

"Only I can understand how dear they are to me."
