Part One ~ Remembering The Past -
"Are you sure this is what you want?" Ashley asked me as I put the last few boxes into the boot of the car and then found myself to the passenger seat, taking one last look at the house with tears in my eyes as I got into the car and closed the door after me.
"Yes. This is for the best." I sighed, wiping the tears from the corners of my eyes as I averted my gaze from the house and looked ahead of me; wondering what my future now held for me and if anything was ever going to be the same.
"And Nathan?"
"He will have to live with this decision. It's for the best that he finds out in the morning, and not any time before that." I replied.
"Ellie-"
"Please, just drive." I said with an air of sadness in my voice, watching as everything I ever knew slowly faded into nothing more than a memory and everything in my life began changing; and not necessarily for the best either.
I remember the night everything changed and I left my old life behind, I decided that I couldn't keep with the life that I had because it was going too much for me to handle.
And not just because I wanted to be out of the spotlight and have the hate all stop, but also because there was no chance of my life ever being normal if I stayed with my boyfriend.
See, my name is Ellie-Mai and my ex-boyfriend is the pop star everyone knows as Nathan Sykes.
The night that I left was the night that I found out the best news of my life, but I decided there was no way I could tell Nathan what I had just found out because I knew it was going to destroy him and we would never be able to stay together - it just never would have worked out for the two of us.
The news I am talking about, me and Nathan have a two year old daughter together; only he doesn't even know of her existence and she believes that my current boyfriend, James, is her father. Her fist word was 'daddy' and I know I need to tell Nathan the truth, even James has told me that one, but I can never find the courage to tell him.
Besides, he's in a new relationship with someone, and I wouldn't want to destroy that because I didn't want to bring our daughter up in the environment that we were living, it just wouldn't have been fair and I never would have managed with it.
"Babe, you know The Wanted are coming to America this month, right?" James asked as he browsed through the paper.
"Yeah, I knew they were coming, but what are the chances of me bumping into Nathan?" I laughed slightly, thinking that it was just a slim chance of us two actually bumping into each other while they were over here and I was out work, or I was in town or I was out with the girls.
I just wasn't likely to bump into Nathan.
"But what if you were to see him? Then what would you tell him?" James questioned, sitting himself beside me on the sofa as he continued to look through the paper and the stories which were in there.
"I wouldn't tell him anything and, even if I did bump into him, then he wouldn't even recognise me anymore."
"El, you haven't changed that much. I'm sure your ex-boyfriend would still recognise you because he's never going to have stopped loving you."
"Well, other things have changed and, what are the chances of him actually stumbling into my workplace when there's so many other places he could pick from?"
"I suppose your right. Have fun at work then." James smiled as he gave me a kiss on the lips and then went back to his paper.
"I always have fun at work, and don't forget that Aimee needs picking up from the child minder's at nine." I grinned.
"I won't forget. I love you El."
"I love you too James." I shouted as I walked out of the house, not even realising just how much my life was going to change tonight.
