Part Four ~ Why Won't He Leave Me Alone? -
"Nathan, look mate-"
"There's no point lying to him anymore." I sighed, walking out of the place where I was hidden and looking between him and Tom; Nathan just looked shocked while Tom immediately knew that he needed to walk away.
"I-I-is that really you?" Nathan asked me.
"Hi Nathan." I replied awkwardly as James also left me alone with Nathan.
"Why did you leave me El?" he said with sadness washed over his face and like he was ready to break down crying any second now.
"I had no other choice. I needed a new start, and I never thought I would see you or the boys again."
"At least you moved on, and I see you've got a family for yourself now as well."
"Yeah. Me, James and Aimee. I see you've moved on as well." I half-smiled as I pointed in the direction of where his new girlfriend was sitting with the other boys and just laughing along with them; she seemed to me like she was the type of person that was just like Kelsey and that's why she got on with her so well.
"Jade. She filled the gap that you left when you walked out of my life, she is like you in so many ways." Nathan sighed, suddenly making me feel so much worse than I already did and it made me wonder why I even bothered coming out here to talk to him.
"I'm sorry." I muttered, now looking at the ground so that I didn't have to face the hurt that was noticeable in Nathan's eyes.
I didn't want to lie to him anymore, but at the same time, I didn't want to come out with truth at the same time because it would just make this so much more awkward than it already was.
And there was also no telling Nathan was even going to believe me when I did tell him the truth because he was never one for accepting big shocks such as this, and he was too young for something like this to be dumped on top of him right now; especially when his career was at the peak it was at now.
"I guess sorry just doesn't cut it anymore. Ay Ellie?" he mumbled angrily.
"I don't really know what you want me to say Nathan."
"Tell me why you left. Just a suggestion..." he answered sarcastically, waving his hands around in the air at the same time.
"Even if I wanted to-"
"Is everything alright over here Nath?" a girl asked as she appeared behind Nathan, wrapping one arm around his neck, and I assumed she must have been Jade; the girl that he went with because she reminded him of me and he wanted some to fill the hole I left behind when I took the decision to walk out of his life all that time ago.
"Yes babe, everything is fine. Was just, erm, talking about her daughter. Weren't we?" Nathan grinned at his girlfriend.
"Yeah. Aimee is a beautiful little girl, she must get that from her dad's side though, because it's not from mine." I laughed, looking over to where Tom was stood with James; Aimee still in his arms as she made smiling faces and clapped her hands every so often whenever one of them said something to her.
"She is beautiful, very beautiful indeed. And I think she gets some of that from you as well because you're a very pretty girl, and your boyfriend is one lucky guy." Jade smiled over at me, and I just smiled back at her as I walked off and went back to doing my job; wondering if I should tell Nathan the truth now or if I should just wait until the last night he is here and then tell him everything - at least if I waited until then, he would be too busy to do anything about it because he wouldn't be able to put off going on tour with the boys, just to discuss a plan with me about how we were going to look after our daughter.
Besides, there is no way it could work. With me living in America, and him living in the UK.
He would get to see her twice a year, and that's if she was lucky. There's no way I could put her through that, not when she has James there for her all the time and she already thinks he's 'daddy' anyway.
I looked up at the clock and saw that this hell was almost at its end and I was going to be able to go home; to prepare myself for when this started all over again tomorrow when I was here for work - at least it would give me time to think about what I was going to say to the boys tomorrow when they threw the questions at me.
"Am I ever going to get an explanation?" Nathan whispered at me as Jade went and sat back down with Kelsey.
"Please just leave me alone. Even if I wanted to tell you why I left, there's no way I could tell you."
"And why is that?" Nathan replied, and I could tell that he was getting more and more annoyed with me the more answers I gave to him because, well, I wasn't actually giving him any answers and I was just leaving him even more confused than he was when he started questioning me in the first place.
"I just can't."
"And that's not an answer. Why can't you, or rather why won't, you tell me the truth?" Nathan snapped again.
"Will you please leave it and get on with your life. You've got your life and I've got mine, lets just keep it that way." I sighed, walking away from Nathan and round the back so I could collect my things and then get out of here before I said something that I really regretted or, even worse than that, told him the truth behind why I walked out on him.
"Have you told him then?" James asked me, as Tom handed me Aimee at the same time.
"No. Can we please just go home?" I asked, giving Nathan one last look before I looked at the exit of the place where I had worked for so long now.
"You need to tell him." James replied.
"Tell him what?" Tom asked, now getting himself involved in the conversation and attempting to find out what we were talking about.
"Nothing. See you around Tom." I said and, with that, I walked out of the bar and waited outside for James to join me; although I'm sure he was having one last word with Tom since they seemed to be getting along with each other so well before I interrupted the pair of them and asked if we could just go home.
"Are you going to talk to me at all, or are you just going to avoid every question I direct at you?" Nathan shouted out the bar after me.
"If you come in again at all over the next two weeks you're here, then you're going to see me every single night." I sighed.
"Just tell me the truth. Why did you leave me?" he repeated, even more annoyed than he was before, but I just decided that I was going to ignore him as I strapped Aimee into her car seat and made sure she was safe for the journey back home.
Once I closed the door, I was greeted by Nathan who was, once again, standing pretty close to me and his face was washed with sadness as he looked at me; almost using his eyes to beg me to tell him the truth - they were the eyes that he always used with me when I was hiding something from him and refused to tell him the truth.
They always used to work on me, but this time, it just wasn't the same and it wasn't working on me like it used to.
"Is there a reason you're following me?" I asked.
"I need to know the answer Ellie. Why did you leave me and then never bother to contact me?" he replied.
"Because...."
"Because what?"
"Aimee is your daughter. That's why I left. I was pregnant with your daughter."
Aimee is on the side - imagine she has Nathan's green eyes, blonde hair with some natural, dark highlights (very similar to Ellie's hair), it is naturally wavy and she has a smile just like Nathan's as well>>
