The following week saw AEW Dark coming through first and with it was a match between Jamie and Sumie Sakai. It was basically a warm up for Jamie since she had a Tag Team match on Dynamite which needed her focus a lot more. She also made sure that Y/N would be watching as the two went to an area with a TV and a few chairs in it. Y/N could just chuckle again at Jamie's antics until they arrived.

Jamie:" Alright, you'll wait here and watch. My match is the third on the card."

Y/N:" What if I need to use the restroom?"

Jamie:" Wait for commercial or piss in a plantpot for all I care. I just wanna show you how much I learned in recent years."

Y/N:" You could've also done that in the gym during a sparing match, y'know?"

Jamie:" Shush now. Catering is around the corner in case you're hungry."

Y/N:" I'll do my best to stay in position, just for you."

The teasing undertone returned to Y/N's words as he was about to pat her head, but Jamie swatted his hand away with an annoyed expression on her face. Little things like that were actually appreciated by her, but she rarely ever let Y/N see the softer side. Who knew what was actually hiding behind it? Y/N didn't know yet, eventhough he tried his best at chipping away this armor Jamie put up around herself. They knew each other for a while by now and learned a lot, but it was still difficult to dig through to the core.

Jamie:" Just watch, okay? Your opinion is really important to me, because you're not just my friend, but also my coach."

Y/N:" I understand what you mean by that. You could've just asked though, instead of pushing me."

Jamie:" I know, but someone has to toughen you up."

Y/N:" You love that part of our friendship, don't you?"

Jamie just shrugged and smirked before hugging Y/N goodbye for the time being. She still needed her makeup to be done, so there was no stopping the often moody lady.

About thirty minutes have passed as AEW Dark was slowly approaching its last match. With a Singles match, a Triple Threat and a sudden promo from The Acclaimed, the diversity definitly showed sooner rather than later. Now though, it was Jamie's time to shine as she made her way to the ring.

Her cocky attitude stayed, no matter what, as she approached the squared circle. But eventhough the young woman looked laser focussed and unshaken, the pressure of having her best friend watch weighed in heavily on her. She took a deep breath though while her opponent soon made her entrance.

Two different women, two different backgrounds. There was something for everyone tonight as Sumie got in the ring while Jamie stood back. A lot could happen after all, so everyone had to watch out. Once the ref checked up on both women, he called for the bell and the match started with a tie up in the middle of the ring. Jamie easily had the strength advantage in this exchange and knew she wouldn't give up that easy, but Sumie dragged her closer to the ropes to push her off. Surprisingly enough, it did actually work as Jamie was pushed off and Sumie tried to get the offense started, but was immediatly countered.

There was nothing pretty or technical about this simple action, but it helped to create a little bit of separation. The fans that actually were still around watched as Jamie waited for Sumie to get up again. Stalking opponents as if they're wounded prey always unleashed something different and this was no different, but it didn't work out in Jamie's favor this time around because Sumie kipped up and quickly hit her with a Superkick.

With the match being young, there wasn't much time or energy wasted between the two at this point, but they still felt the impact of the moves nonetheless. Jamie had to regain the upper hand on the right somehow to actually show Y/N how much she has grown as an athlete. Most of the immature things have washed off and she did her damndest to be more serious in life. Sure, that wasn't easy, but the effort alone was appreciated a lot. Sumie and Jamie got up again after another second with the japanese woman rushing at the brit and paying dearly for it.

In an unexpected twist, Jamie got a Two Count already, most surely because Sumie didn't expect a reversal like this. Apparently having many sources to learn from helped a lot in her development over the years,  making Jamie a more feared competitor. She always had something up her sleeve at this point and made it through a lot of tough matches. She just hoped she would have more opportunities sooner rather than later to grow as a singles wrestler. With Sumie in the corner this time, Jamie nodded to herself a few times before taking charge and hitting her with the Running Knee.

Sumie's brain was being rattled at basically every opportunity and this dazed her quite a lot, but not enough to be out of the match. Instead, she rolled out of the ring for a moment of peace while Jamie showed off to the crowd for a little. Jamie,was a heel after all and the heat she generated really helped her character. Thank goodness most fans she met this far were smart enough to differenciate between real life and job. It wasn't always easy in the business whenever some kind of scandal happened or a leak of something was publicized. She was just lucky enough to stay out of controversy as a whole and work without many problems. Jamie's assault continued as she caught Sumie off guard again.

The surprise moves like this really made the match a lot of fun to watch actually as Jamie got up again. She now had control over the whole thing and could end it whenever she wanted, but the time wasn't right yet. Instead of finishing the job, she had a different idea as she gave Sumie enough time to recover. The following punches Jamie had to take were part of the plan as Sumie cursed her and tried to hit a DDT to finish this match, but Jamie's trap was activated now as she turned their current position into an interesting roleup.

This did the trick since the bridge and Jamie's general power were enough to hold Sumie down for the Three Count. Jamie seemed to know every trick in the book and beyond at this point which probably would get her more victories and more opportunities in the coming future. The only thing she worried about at the moment was Y/N's judgement.
