scared the crap out of me as a kid

for those of you whove never played luigi's mansion, this is the theme that plays on repeat when you're in (scripted) imminent danger. for example, when you're about to begin a major boss fight or when you're talking to a dangerous person before said boss fight.

basically, if you heard this audio cue, you were in trouble.

luigi's mansion was my childhood and i played it so often that i got actual anxiety symptoms whenever this thing came on. my heartbeat would go nuts, i'd get fidgety, and id basically get driven crazy if it played too long. it's something about the discordant piano notes and the strange, heart stingers coupled with that terrifying thumping noise in the background that just made me really really uncomfortable. if you played this song on repeat and locked me in a room with it, i'd probably start crying

it got to the point that a few times i'd have one of those nightmares that starts as a nice dream but then slowly starts getting worse and worse, and as things got really bad this song would actually play during the dream when a big danger showed up.

like seriously this is the worst/best piece of music ever composed im getting shivery just listening to it so i can put it in this chapter can we just either appreciate or curse the sound design here
