Chapter Nine - Winter Jam! #2
A/N- okay, let's try this chapter again. Sorry about the mix up! Enjoy! And, I know this video isn't the same artists as I'm putting, but it's this year's artists for Winter Jam on the east coast... West coast gets Skillet. :( I'm done now...
Moriah's POV
It had been three months since the court date, and the last six weeks had been insane. Steven had showed up at our house multiple times, and the last time, we had to call the police, and that got messy. But, we were getting ready for Winter Jam. The artists this year are, For King and Country, Moriah Peters :), Skillet, Family Force Five, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jeremy Camp, Colton Dixon, Third Day, Britt Nicole, and Newsong. Britt was trying to convince Amber to do a song with her, and Amber was starting to crack. She was also going to perform a song with me, but Luke and Joel were adding her to For King and Country, which we all loved, including her. We had our stuff packed, and the guys were packing the instruments, while we ladies were packing the van with our suitcases, and the guys suitcases, since the make a mess of it, and they never fit. Colton's girlfriend, Annie, was coming with him, and she and Amber were going in the bus with me and my band, since we had a little extra room. Amber was scrambling around, almost panicking, and then her phone rang. She picked it up, and she turned beet red, walking out of the room, talking. Annie laughed, watching her.
"Hmmm....methinks she has a crush on whoever that is that just called her." I laughed, answering.
"What gave you that idea? Not every girl blushes for a guy. I yelled at my husband when we met at his brother's wedding." Her jaw dropped, and she started at me, laughing.
"You didn't?!" I laughed at her shocked expression.
"I did. He pretty quickly forgave me, though. I guess he doesn't hold a grudge for that, since he proposed to me later." We smiled at that, and we heard the guys outside, laughing and joking around. Amber came back in, smiling broadly.
"Guess what? Katelyn and Conor are coming to the performance in Lynchburg! Katelyn was allowed to have Conor come live with her, since they are siblings, and Katelyn's a legal adult." I squeezed her into a hug.
"That's wonderful, sweet girl. Are they going to stick around for the meet-and-greets afterwards?" She nodded.
"And, are you going to give Britt and Colton your answers?" She rolled her eyes playfully, and nodded.
"Yup. But, I won't tell you my answer. You'll have to wait and see how it turns out." She took off, and Joel slipped up behind he, trying to scare me, but that didn't work.
"You know you should've given up scaring me awhile ago. I can tell when you are coming." He gave me a fake scowl, and I laughed, taking his hand. Everyone was here, and Pastor Bobby was calling for everyone to come over. He always prayed before anyone left, and for once, no one has another tour that they were doing, so we were all going to be in a 'caravan' for the next five months. It's a good thing we all like each other.... Anyway, all fifty or so of us gathered, and Pastor Bobby prayed for safe travels, and that those who need it most would be at these performances. When he was done, everyone cheered, and split for the buses. When everyone was in their respective buses, I saw Luke was driving their bus, and he pulled out first, and I went to the drivers seat, and Callie, my drummer, switched with me, and I pulled in line behind their bus. Everyone else filed put behind us, so we had twelve tour buses all in a line, heading for the same place at the same time. Callie and I switched back, and I went back to where Amber was sitting and reading The Lord of the Rings. She was completely tuned out, so I didn't bother her. Annie was listening to something on her iPod, so when I sat down next to her, she pulled her earbuds out.
"I have something to ask you." She looked nervous, so I nodded, and she continued.
"I think Colton is planning on proposing soon, and I was wondering, if he does, and he still continues to do music like he's planning, how do I do that? I mean, how do I work with the times I'm not able to go on tour with him?" I nodded.
"Are you asking how Joel and I do it when we're on separate tours?" She nodded.
"Well, there's a lot of prayer, Bible verses, and FaceTime involved." We both chuckled.
"But, seriously, we call each other whenever we can, and when things get tough, we both just think about what's coming at the end. And when we're home, we make up for lost time." She smiled, chuckling.
"Thanks. I'm really glad I was able to come on this tour. I'm really excited to see what it's like backstage." We laughed, hugging. Amber was on her phone, laughing at someone, so I went over to see what was happening. She was laughing at something Katelyn said, and there was a guy in the picture as well.
"Hey, who's this?" Amber scooted over, and I sat down beside her.
"Hey, Katelyn, Conor, this is my mom, Moriah. Mom, you've already met Katelyn, and this is her brother, Conor." I waved, and they waved back.
"This is the first time I've ever really gotten to meet someone that's even somewhat famous." We all laughed.
"I'm delighted to meet you as well." Then, the phone rang, and Katelyn ran to get it. She came back, scowling.
"Sorry, but I got called into work early. One of my co-workers called in sick, so I'm going in early. Sorry. See you guys later! Oh, and Conor, I want all that work done my the time I get home, got it?" He pretended to scowl, but nodded.
"Sorry, I've got homework to finish. Talk to you guys later!" We waved, and the picture cut off. I smiled at Amber, yawning. It was only ten, but I half been up since five-thirty this morning. I went to try and catch some z's, but little did I know, this would be the craziest tour I had ever been on in my life.
Katelyn's POV
I didn't want to go in early, but I was getting paid extra for going in this early. As I drove, my mind drifted to Conor and Amber. Camber. I had come up with that yesterday, and I laughed at myself in my mind. As I turned a corner, I saw a forty-something man swerving on the bridge, and before I could do anything, he rammed me, and my car flipped over the edge of the bridge. I saw black, but there was a light in the distance, and I didn't feel any pain.
"I love you, little brother." I whispered, and then the light flooded my vision, and then I knew just then exactly where I was.
Author's note- Hey again. Shout out to @messenger_craver for the name Camber. Sorry this chapter is shorter, and sorry for what happened as well. Again, don't hate me! Please vote and comment! -Christianwhovian a user
