It was Aries' birthday, and he was spending it watching Netflix. As he scrolled through the movies, his phone lit up, signaling a text. It was from his best friend and neighbor, Saggitarius.

Saggi: happy birthday
Aries: thx 4 remembering
Saggi: of course I remembered were best friends
Saggi: anyway wanna meet up
Aries: sure when
Saggi: I'll meet u @ ur house in 10 min
Aries: k c u soon

Aries closed his phone and went into his room to find something better to wear (he was currently in an old gray vest and boxers). He came out wearing a green hoodie and dark blue jeans. Saggitarius arrived five minutes later and they left together. "So, where are we going?" asked Aries.
"Somewhere," replied Saggitarius secretively.
She turned and walked off, Aries curiously following. Soon they reached the park near both of their houses. They used to play there all time. Saggitarius jumped onto the swing and started swinging while whistling the theme song to their favorite childhood show. "Seriously Saggi, what's with all the nostalgia?" Aries asked.
"Is remembering old times a crime now?" Saggitarius replied, raising her eyebrow.
"No, its just..." Aries trailed off as he sat on the swing beside his friend, who was swinging higher and higher.
Saggitarius insisted on getting ice-cream from their favorite shop next, and visiting their 'secret hideout', a hidden clearing in the forest beside the park. Aries remembered all the good times they had there. Finally, Saggitarius stopped dragging Aries to visit their old haunts and led him to her house. Aries knew something was wrong the moment they stepped into the driveway. For one, all the lights were off. Saggi's mom should have been home today, it was a weekend. Secondly, it was too quiet. Usually Saggi's twin brothers were fighting or playing or just making an enormous racket, but the house was silent.
Aries stood behind Saggitarius as she turned the key in the lock and slowly opened the door. It was pitch-black inside. Suddenly, the lights turned on. Aries' eyes went wide when he saw the scene in front of him. Cancer and Pieces were holding a large banner between them with 'Happy Birthday Aries!' written in large blue letters. Virgo, Leo, Libra, and Gemini were holding confetti cannons, which they had opened as soon as the lights turned on. Capricorn, Taurus, Aquarius and Scorpio were standing to the sides with big smiles on their faces. "Happy Birthday!" eleven voices shouted at once.
Aries felt a smile growing across his face. All his friends, even some people who weren't quite his friends had shown up. To a surprise party. For him.
Aries had always thought that no one cared when his birthday came around, no one but Saggitarius. But her were all his friends, gathered in front of him, cheering for him. They all cared enough to do this for him. Aries walked over to them and thanked them all. Leo and Scorpio gave him birthday punches, fourteen each. Aries thought his arm was going to break off when Scorpio was done. Pisces wished him happy birthday again, probably because she forgot she already did it. There was plenty of talking and laughing. Suddenly, the room went silent. Saggitarius and Libra were walking out of the kitchen holding a large chocolate cake. They set it on the table and Aries sat down in front of it. Saggitarius lit the fourteen blue birthday candles while everyone else brought out cameras. Someone started singing 'Happy Birthday' and everyone joined in. When they finished, Aries took a deep breath, ready to blow out the candles. Then he remembered hi wish. What should he wish for? Aries thought hard, but then he remembered the person that had made this all possible, the person that had planned it and put it together. He looked up at his best friend, his neighbor, and secretly the love of his life. Aries looked at Saggitarius and suddenly knew what to wish for. Then he blew out the candles. He had made his wish.
Libra handed him a knife and he cut out a large piece of cake, slid it onto a plate, stuck a fork in it, picked it up and walked away to sit on the couch. Libra began evenly dividing up the rest to the cake and Virgo freaked out because hers was unevenly cut. The two of them got into an argument. Aries rolled his eyes and ate his cake. A moment later, Cancer came to sit beside him on the couch. They ate in silence for a while until Cancer suddenly said in a small voice, "You like Saggitarius, don't you?"
Aries choked on his cake for a second, then looked at Cancer suspiciously. "What if I do?" he asked.
"I knew it!" Cancer said in an excited voice. "I knew you liked her! You should tell her."
"You think so? When?" Aries questioned.
"Get her alone in a secluded place." Cancer said in a matter-of-fact voice.
Aries sighed and the two ate their cake in silence. Aries finished his cake and got up to put his plate in the sink. When he got to the kitchen, he saw Saggitarius talking with Gemini. Gemini glanced at Aries and excused herself as Aries slipped his dishes into the sink. "So, enjoying the party?" Saggitarius asked.
"Definitely." Aries replied. He thought of Cancer's advice. "Um...Saggi...I want to tell you something." Aries wasn't sure how to say this, so he decided to just say it straight out. "I love you and always have since we were kids." Aries blurted out, "Its fine if you don't feel the same, I just wanted you to know and I'm really sorry if this makes things awkward between us."  he said quickly.
Saggitarius looked stunned at first, but slowly grinned. "I always thought that it was only me..." she said softly. Before Aries knew what was happening, she had pulled him in close and placed her lips on his. Aries was startled, but slowly kissed her back. His arms wrapped around her back, pulling her closer, and her arms wrapped around his neck. It felt so right, Aries thought they had to be made for each other. Finally, a small cough interrupted them. Aries pulled away reluctantly to see everyone standing in the doorway, staring at them. Aries blushed, but kept one arm around Saggitarius. She did the same. The others turned around and left, leaving Aries alone with Saggitarius again. She looked at him. "So, I guess we're dating now, right?" Aries asked. Saggitarius responding by kissing her again, just a quick kiss this time, and they left to enjoy the party and tell everyone the good news. Aries was happier than ever before. He had gotten his wish.
