Ice Statutes

INTRO: This poem is inspired by what just happened a while ago. Waiting for the bus to pick you up to drive you home. In winter. So if you live in winter you know what I mean, if you don't,  imagine.

..........

I stood very still in time,

The clock ticks.

Misty clouds my nostrils flares,

Hoping arrival is quick.

Mittens clutch my bag,

Waiting for it to end.

Toes starts to sweat and freeze,

Egerly  I wait the weekend.

Shorthand strikes 30 times,

Shuffle of feet.

Ice crystallize on the glass,

Eyes covered  by white sheets.

Ice climbs up pant legs,

Sweepimg cold into bones.

Muscle stifftens and numbs,

Freezing the screen of my phone.

A jeering pain of crystallization,

Attacks my hips.

2 long hands strikes,

Now tainted  blue  apears on my lips.

3 long hands strikes,

Iceflakes spiral across my cheeks,

Fingers tremble, shattered teeth,

Yellow and black stripes  is the hope I seek.

Cold wind,

Sharp as kitchen knives.

Flutsters  jacket.

Goosebumps spread like hives.

5 hours wait,

Sun sinks like smoldering flame.

Feet frozen in place,

Throat sore as I scream for any name.

7 hours passes,

Hands no longer feel,

Bag drops,

Negative 30 is not ideal.

Ears burning like fire,

Turns blue.

I wince in agony,

If only you knew.

My brain freezes,

With no ice cream,

Eyes blurry,

I struggle to scream.

Body temp drops,

In throat  frost forms.

Wind howls,

Roars the surrounding storm.

The cracking of ice,

Forms on my lungs.

Enters my ribcage,

The church bell is what the ravens have rung.

Heart stops,

Freezes into solid rock.

The night cools in silence,

In the morning hear a loud shock.

Snapping of camera is heard,

Your eyes  you d on't  believe

An ice statue of a girl,

Who no longer lives.

Her eyes sparkled in the light,

Her skin glowed blue.

Her coat glistened,

She stood beautiful before you.

Nothing but As a ice statue

....................................................................

Feel cold already?

Burrrrrr! No thanks!

Just a fact, I actually almost got frostbitten on the ear. When I went inside I was bawling my eyes out it felt like it was on fire. Never again  will I ever go and walk for so long in  negative 30.
And I was in Quebec if you wanted to know and if you ever been there you know it is FREEZING. Even more than in Ontario.

Also to point out I am not really following  the science on how long it takes for a person to freeze solid.

Comment your thoughts !

Till next time!
