[lesbian chapter let's goooooo. Also please bear with me, I'm trying to learn how to write again. I think I changed tenses a lot in this oh myyyy]
In their car, they drove along the road, following it to wherever it lead. They didn't really know where or why yet, they just knew they wanted to go. The sun was setting to their left. The bright star slowly hiding behind the dark, never ending sea. Warm rays of light mixed into the cool shade of the sky creating a beautiful painting you would've thought Bob Ross himself painted it. Hints of pink, reds, oranges, and purples littered the sky. Fading in and out of the blue background, getting more defined the closer the hues reached the sun. The fluffy, white clouds were highlighted by pinks and reds making them look like cotton candy. The sea glimmered in the light of the sun, as splashes of purples, reds, and oranges danced across the waves. It was truly a beautiful sunset.
Lo and behold, this sunset could represent the couple. The couple that drives along the coast, not knowing where they're going but enjoying the other's company. Sierra was driving, she kept her eyes to the road despite not having seen another car for half an hour. She would occasionally glance at the pretty sight. Eventually the hard stare of her black eyes would give into the long, empty road. Bayley, sat in the passenger seat, had her head leaned against the window. She was looking past Sierra into the sunset. Her eyes twinkling from amazement and the sun, highlighting the hazel in her brown eyes. Beaming just like the sun, Bayley kept her gaze on the bright sunset just as Sierra kept hers on the cold road. Their eyes never glanced at each other. Their eyes never met.
Oh, you see, their relationship is a tricky thing to pin down. Were they close friends or secretly lovers? Do they actually like each other or is there a vast sea of loathing behind closed doors? No one really knows the answer; not even their closest friends. No one but them. On their own they are interesting people. Sierra being the most eccentric person in the room. Even being average height, she knows how to make herself known in the room. She knows almost everyone and they know her. She wears her heart on her sleeve, not afraid to say how she feels. Bayley is quite the opposite. She's quiet in large groups, not knowing what to say or when to speak. A small lady that can easily slip through the crowds. She's only comfortable in small groups with her close friends. Even though she's very shy, she gets along with people well but keeps her heart close to her chest. She doesn't want to burden people with her silly emotions, the thoughts that tell her she's not welcome and so she feels like she doesn't belong. Instead of talking, she keeps it in, only telling certain people vague things.
Very interesting those two are. Then suddenly, two interesting people on their own are suddenly brought together. This would be silly to believe they got along right away, very silly indeed. They immediately clashed and fought. Bayley, always finding a reason to snap at the loud, annoying girl to drive her away. Sierra, always finding a way to charm the tiny, snarky girl right back to her. It was a vicious cycle, one that people were confused by. If you disliked a person that much why let them stay? Bayley never knew the answer. Not until she started properly talking to Sierra years after they had met.
Eventually, it was like the sunset. Their vibrant colours mashed together to create a friendship they've never had before. An open, honest, colourful relationship. Sierra's boldness and spontaneous ways had heightened and encouraged Bayley's sense of adventure and recklessness. While Bayley's timidness and planned nature gave Sierra a new perspective to consider. They balanced each other out in ways that really put "opposites attract" accurately. Having almost the same interests, views and, humour. The two together blended into a mysteriously, wonderful thing. Bayley painted the cool, dark shades of the sea and sky. She gave great detail the the waves and the clouds in the plain sky. Then Sierra was the sun. Shining warm and bright on the top of the water, the rays reflecting and shimmering delightfully. The rays of the sun seeped into the painted sky and began to add colour.
Yellow and orange hues shaded around the sun as the two held hands or embraced, the warmth of their bodies together almost feeling like they were touched by the sun. Pinks and reds highlighted the fluffy clouds in the sky while the pair laughed and joked together. Purple and magenta hues dancing across the sea as the couple danced around each other, wanting to say something but not knowing how. The sky itself being splattered with all of those colours at once, the sky holding their love for each other. The love of family, friends, and... maybe something more.
Over time, the two decided to live together. Since they got along so well, why wouldn't they? They went to school, worked their asses off and ended up in Hawaii for the summer. Driving along this road with nowhere in particular in mind. At this point along the road, the sun had finally set. This doesn't sadden any of them, as they know the sun will come back to set the next day. The chill of the night only brings more excitement. As the dark begins to roll over them, Sierra parks the car on the side of the road. The two finally glance at each other and give off a smile. A smile that says it's going to be alright from Bayley, and a smile that says she's glad the other is here from Sierra.
Under the night sky, they climbed to the top of their car and Sierra wrapped a blanket around the two. Bayley's head found it's way onto the comforting shoulder. It wasn't until then - under the beautiful night sky, the stars twinkling so much you'd think they were dancing - where Bayley realized the answer. This is where she belonged. A place that truly felt like home, where she could think something and not be afraid to say it. She raised her head to look at the love of her life, brushing some of her wavy, black hair from her face. She touched foreheads with Sierra and muttered the words that changed their lives for the better.
[The answer to what she said is in the paragraphs. My only hint is the first letters. ;)
