◇Waltz With Death♧
What did I expect?
Dancing with the one thing that can kill me whenever they deemed fit was not going to be as comforting of an experience as one would anticipate.
And yet... I found myself entranced by their appearence.
Their moves, so elegent yet so dangerous, keep me on my feet.
Their dance was was as easy to follow as it was hard to keep up. Each dip to the earth a challenge. Each caress of their hand against my cheek sending shivers down my spine.
They were tender, letting me move the way my body was made to do, with no consequences.
"Your dance is entrancing," I said to Death, my voice quiet, as if anything louder will disrupt the moment.
Death greeted my compliment with a tender smile, their mask of cracked bone gritting against their hidden smile.
"I knew you would enjoy it... Now, dont speak. Just continue to dance with me," Death replied a second later, their voice clenching my jaw tight into a knot. The echoed irony of death and life radiated off their tone. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So, my eyes glistening, I continued to dance along the hollow floor, with an outfit unbeknownst to my vision. I could only focus upon Death's look.
Their eyes were like storms brewing within, the grey and green and blue mixing along the edges, threatening to spill out. They reminded me of glass orbs. I could feel myself losing reality, dripping from my fingertips like water. Like the rain came from Death's storm. The coiling clouds warped my heart, pulled me down into another dip, only to lift me back up and towards the sky.
The dance continued on. Flesh against flesh, breath against breath, soul against soul, we waltzed the floor like royals in the spotlight. For a long moment I closed my eyes and leaned against Death's chest, their hands running fingers along my head like a parent would their child, and my breath hitched in my throat.
"Death..." I breathed, my eyes lining their masked features.
"Shhhh, let the music carry you away," Death whispered against my ear, their hands possessive as they traced my shoulders and hoisted me up to the sky again, the air lashing my face in deadly kisses. My heart soared higher than my body could ever, its white wings melting away from the heat of the dance, dropping my heart from the sky snd bringing to back to my chest forever.
"Dance with me... Waltz with Death," Death said, commanded.
And I, entranced with their body, their mind, their voice, their touch.
I nodded my head, and accepted the darkness. Dancing with Death, forever more, was the final risk I took.
My regret will run dry later in the eternity.
