I didn't know what to do, Xaez turned to me and growled softly.

It's okay don't be scared, she has no reason to kill you, you are now one of her children after all. He said and I nodded and shakily followed behind him. He kept on walking until he was in line with the Praetorians and then he stopped and got on all fours before bending further and putting his head on the ground. I stepped to the side and up a little before doing the same thing and the Praetorians seemed pleased with what we did and looked away, but Xaez didn't move from his position.

You may stand young one. I looked at Xaez and saw that he was still bowing to the Queen but his tail tapped my side and I shot up quickly. Looking towards The Queen but not directly at her.

I know that this may be scary little one but I will not hurt you, unless you do something foolish that is. I shivered more and looked down a little. Now, the reason that I wanted this one to bring you here is because I believe that you have the potential to become the next Queen.

M-me? The next Queen?! I took a step back and froze, what was considered an act against them in their world if I stepped back any further it could be seen as an act of trying to run away, and I could be killed.

Yes little one. The Queen said nodding her head, My time is almost near, and I am unable to produce any other queens to take my place, so when this one brought you in as a mere human I didn't think much of you at first. Then you defied my first impression and still tried to eliminate me even being as weak as you were. It made me see the strength in you, and the potential that you would have should you become one of us. I didn't take into account that your weapons would merge with you, but maybe that's just the next step we need in our species' evolution.

B-but how, I exclaimed, I'm not going to be big and strong like you are, I don't even know what's going to happen to me now. I can't go and see my brother...my human brother, and I am scared of being around other humans because I might do the exact same thing that the others do.

And what is that? The Queen asked clearly already knowing the answer.

I. I might kill them, I said shaking my head and stepping backwards once more, I don't want to kill him, I don't want to kill anything.

You will need to learn to little one, The Queen looked stern, someday you two will meet on the battlefield and he will more than likely not recognize you and he may very well try to kill you, so what will you do then?

I-I don't know. I said looking at the ground. What would I do oof my brother tried to kill me. Would I run away? Would I let him live and move on, or would I have to kill him?

Whether you like it or not until you become the next Queen you need to get stronger. Better than any here, even me, so I am going to send you on a small scouting mission to test the limits of what you can do. I looked at The Queen with surprise, accidentally looking at her face before looking away quickly. I saw Xaez tense up, but I didn't know why.

I—I'm already going on a mission? But I just woke up. I don't know how to do anything, or where I need to go. I shook my head frantically and I'm sure she could smell the fear wafting off of me.

And that is why I am going to have your Fated go with you. He will show you what you need to do, where to go, how to act and fight against humans, as well as help you discover the extend of you abilities. The Queen hissed once and Xaez took that as an order to stand, and he looked at the Queen with surprise as well.

You will protect her with your life and you will bring her back safely to us, after all, if she dies you shall die too...eventually. The Queen growled to emphasize and Xaez nodded his head once.

I will protect her with my life, he said and The Queen nodded and motioned a claw behind us.

Good, bring her to the entrance, you leave with three others at dawn. The Queen looked at me one last time before turning away and laying her head down with a deep sigh. Seeing her great and powerful body lay on the ground like that made me want to impress her. She must be pretty tired and she seemingly immediately fell asleep before we even got out of the room due to the even, yet heavy breathing I heard.

I followed Xaez as he walked on, turning every now and then until there was an opening in the cave and the smell of rain and forestry reached my senses. I saw three other shapes already there waiting and they watched as we walked up to them.

Cutting it close there new ones, one of the bigger muscular ones said and I stepped behind Xaez. He would be able to protect me, I knew that he would at least try his best if they attacked, but they didn't. They just tilted their heads at me.

Why does she look like a category two hive member, only smaller and different? One of the skinnier upright ones that stood tall pointed at me and I was about to shrink back behind Xaez further when I suddenly realized I didn't know what I looked like or what I was either.

Xaez looked back at me for a moment and then shook his head at the three, That shouldn't matter to you, we are going to be late coming back as it is and the Queen will not be happy with us if we don't leave now. Xaez said and I looked outside to see the sun rising. It's time.

Why is she having us leave in daylight anyways? Shouldn't we be trying to blend in with the night when we attack a human camp? One of the other strong looking Xenos said, but the rest didn't answer as we all started to run. I stayed by Xaez's side the entire time as we ran and soon I started to hear voices that weren't in my head. The others haven't seemed to have noticed yet though.

"Come on man we need to start moving or the Xenos will find us," a shiny man said to a very big man who was sitting on a log, "We know that they rarely come out during the day as it is, but we're really close to their hive. "

"Let then come, they won't be able to beat me." He said proudly sticking out his chest and lifting a very heavy seeming rifle up in each arm.

This would be a perfect time for her to test her strength. The first strong looking one suddenly said and I looked at him in surprise. They knew they were there, but for how long?!

What?! I hissed accidentally drawing their attention to the forest, I-I can't kill them, they haven't done anything to us.

Okay then. If that's true then step out there and see for yourself what humans are like. There's no need to worry, we will all be here in case she gets hurt too badly, the second bigger one said and the small skinny one nodded at Xaez who growled then huffed in defeat.

Go on, you should test your own weapons on these two, the second strong looking one said, Plus I bet you are pretty hungry right now, having not eaten anything since hatching.

I suddenly realized that I was pretty hungry and froze for a moment, but I pushed it down and stepped out from the forest's bounds to see for myself if humans really were just shoot and ask questions later.

"Oh crap," the skinny guy said reaching for a rifle and the buff guy fired his gun. One second I was standing in front of them, the next I saw a flash of light the next thing I knew there were thousands of small impacts on my body. So much so that I started to slide backwards a little, but they didn't hurt. In fact it was a little disappointing seeing that they didn't even wonder why there were Xenos out during day nor caring whether we were sentient or not.

Compared to when I had shot the other Xenos when I was human. The bullets went right into them with certain spots doing more damage, but I didn't feel any pain. Actually all of the impacts were making my body hum a little, but I was still alive, but I couldn't see due to the bright light their weapons were emitting, and when the firing stopped I stood there for a second dazed.

I shook my head to clear my vision and then looked back at Xaez and the others who seemed to be in shock. I was bulletproof, mad, and very hungry. I tore forwards and pinned the bug guy to the ground, I was pretty much as tall as him and so it was rather easy to push him down by the chest.

He struggled a bit and I contemplated whether I should just end his suffering there with my second mouth or whether I should see if my body had other new things. I suddenly felt something hit my right shoulder and I looked over irritated to see the skinny man with a meduim sized crowbar.

I rolled my imaginary eyes and shot him with my tail. Wait how did that happen? I looked back to see the tip of my tail smoking, the area just under the blade. I pointed my tail towards the truck and fixated on that feeling of it firing again and it did. A muffled bang erupted from the hole and there was a hole in the truck and the smell of blood wafting from it and the dead guy made my senses go wild.

I looked down to the human that I had pinned and I wondered what else I could do, maybe I could form something else like my tail has. I felt the center of my head start to grow outwards and I saw the humans face grow wide with surprise and fear.

I focused in the feeling of firing my new weapon and suddenly my head snapped back and there was an eruption of blood. I hissed and stretched my neck. Oowww. That was gonna have to wait till later when I could handle the recoil force better.

I looked down to see a large crater in the ground with a hole the size of my head probably going just as deep if not deeper too. I looked at it with surprise and then I noticed the blood, half the man's body was gone, but all I could feel was hunger. And the next few moments were a blur, I remember seeing the skinny guy, seeing him lifted into the air, my second mouth tasting something amazing, and then I was looking at the other Xenos in the forest. All with surprised expressions and slightly scared body language. They seemed torn between wanting to run away from me and wanting to stay for some reason, except for Xaez that is. He was just looking at me with what I felt as awe.

I looked up and realized that the giant gun was still on my head, and I thought about it sinking into my head again but with a little hole there as an opening just in case I needed it to come out quickly. I could feel it there, in my head too, and I brought my tail over to look at it.

There was a hole the size of a pistol in the center of my tail just underneath the blade, and this wasn't covered with something like I made my head gun have over it.

What was that? The skinny y'all Xeno said still shocked and slightly scared at the same time. It looked like you grew a human armored boom machine's main weapon grow from the front of your head.

What were they called again? I had completely forgotten what it was. Tree, rod, stalk, barrel...wait is that it? No. Hmmm, pole, rifle, turret, yes! That's what they were called...turrets. How could I forget that was part of a tank.

It's from something that she absorbed when she changed from human to one of us. Xaez said and the other looked at his grinning face and then at me and they were still in shock. Do you think that you can fire another one into that car to see what it does?

I looked at Xaez and grinned, I think I could shoot those for a long time, but the only problem is the kickback that I get after shooting it. I'm afraid that I may end up breaking my neck.

Then make something that acts like a brace for your head. Xaez said and I thought about it for a second and then I walked over to the front of the car and willed the turret to come out again. Instead of shooting it immediately I thought about something that could take the shock of the weapon and still move my head and neck quickly as to not hinder my movement. Something that allowed the weapon to fire as much as needed without breaking me but also provided protection from outside attacks as I may be vulnerable when I am shooting it.

As I thought I could feel my head getting slightly heavier, but not so heavy that I couldn't lift my head too much. I didn't know what I had formed while I thought but I knew that it would work. I aimed towards the car and fired.

There was a large bang and even though I missed the area in front of my head started to vibrate loudly and the car was pushed back a little, but shooting this weapon didn't hurt my head anymore. I felt that I could move this new part of my head as freely as I could before.

I had seemingly created a large circle that covered my entire neck and was dipped inward like a bowl. When I bent down it covered my entire body except for my face. I fired again and this time the bullet tore through the center of the car, straight through the engine all the way through the back.

Then came the vibrating, but instead of being a full noise that was around my head it was seemingly directed forwards and the car was sent flying backwards through the air, to the other side of the road in pieces.

It looked like the car had run straight into a wall and then that wall decided to push back stronger and send the car flying. I let the 'shield' back down to cover just my neck and noticed that it didn't touch my neck at all, there were a few braces on the base of my head connecting to the new part of me, but other than that there wasn't anything else there.

I looked back at Xaez and the other Xenos and grinned, letting the turret sink back into my head again, the frills I guess I would call them now since they seemed to act like that dinosaur's that I once read about. It was in 'Jaurassic Park' too! And looked really really cool, I hoped that I looked as cool as that frilled Dino that could spit stuff.

W-we need to tell The Queen of this right away. The first strong looking Xeno said and I nodded in agreement.

I can't wait to show her what I can do! I was so excited, and I was barely thinking about where I was going before I slammed into Xaez as everyone started back before stopping and looking in one direction together and he looked at me confused but I just hopped back and looked away from him embarrassed. Eventually he turned back and asked what was stopping them.

What do you sense? Xaez asked and the tall skinny Xeno looked back at us,

There are humans heading this way, and a lot of them. We cannot lead them to the Hive, but we should not attack them here either, the tall one said and we all hissed with irritation. Even I did and it surprised me a little, but I wanted to show The Queen what I could do and that she could trust me to become the next Queen, but these humans were stopping me from going back. I shook my head a little so that I could think clearly.

We should go around them and attack in groups. It would be wasting too much energy to fight then head on and we would be able to lead the humans away from the nest, and ambush them from all sides. I suggested and the others looked back at me with surprise.

But we can't let them leave this area alive, and if they discover what happened they'll get suspicious and call more of their own over to help. Xaez said and looked at me before the others, and we all seemed to agree on what to do and scattered in different directions. The two strong ones stayed back and climbed some trees, I mentally noted their locations just in case it turned out to be important for later.

I ran with Xaez and the skinny one went ahead of use for a second and I saw his tail disappear into some trees as well, he's probably going to attack from behind. I climbed a tree just next to it and Xaez stayed on the ground crouched and waiting. I thought about my position for a second and then I stepped down from the tree and moved into a clearer area where I could see in all directions.

What are you doing? Xaez tilted his head.

I will be better here, this way I can shoot something that you can't take down, and I won't injure you with the shockwave in the process. I said and he hissed lowly in disapproval but stayed silent afterwards.

There is one of the human's giant armored things heading your way along with several smaller rolling things. Humans traveling on foot at either side and all of the rolling things are full of them, but most are in the back. I looked to the area that the second one was at and I could feel them there, all of the cars and the tank anyways. I could feel the guns that the humans were carrying and the different things of their clothes.

I extended my frills to cover me entirely and let my own turret come out, and then I lowered myself to all fours and waited for them to come into view. I didn't want them to see me destroy their tank and then hide behind the trees or drive away in their cars to get help. Not really that it would make a difference because the others would kill them all the same, but I wanted to kill as many as I could without having to waste energy. And when the tank came into view and all I felt was joy.
