I inhaled,breathing in the cool scent of the rain that had left us. It was not only the end of the school day but also our final exam. Pupils were streaming down from the stairs with new looks on their faces of joy and excitement. The feeling everyone had after they were finally done with something stressful. I exhaled.

By the time I got home,I had already hatched a brilliant plan,using the excuse that there will always be a time for pranks. I picked up my phone and immediately texted Ellen,a close friend who was also a prefect, saying that the exam was incredibly easy because I had cheated by using my phone.

After watching paint dry, I received a text stating with capital letters that she was going to tell the teacher on me but I just shrugged it off,assuming that she knew me well enough to realise that it was just a prank. I thought she was just playing along with my act.

The morning after that was a nightmare! It was raining cats and dogs so I had to use my umbrella to avoid getting drenched to the skin.

I caught Ellen's sight and waved with a cheerful smile but she pierced through my soul with inconceivable eyes. Ellen had long and silky hair with a smooth complexion but her glare was enough to turn anyone into stone.

Without warning,she grabbed my wrist and pulled me abruptly to the staff room

"Hey!NO!STOP!" I retaliated

Stopping dead in my tracks,I was greeted by Mrs Clyde's babbling about me cheating,"You know for a fact that cheating is a crime young lady!"Mrs Clyde continued to yak while I had absolutely no clue as to what she was trying to say.

All of a sudden,it all fell into place. Cheating, texting and Ellen ,I then knew what she was scolding me for.

"Wait! No,this was all just a big misunderstanding..." with that,I let the cat out of the bag,explaining the situation word for word.

After all that explanation, instead of seeking for my forgiveness, Mrs Clyde reprimanded me for pulling a prank especially on Ellen who believes in almost everything you say. Mrs Clyde left the decision with Ellen to think of a punishment for me. I was quivering like a leaf, heart beating wildly but I stood my ground.

Ellen exploded!

Her eyes filled with indescribable fury, thinking of all the possible punishments I could do but in the end, she decided on something inevitably certain for me to reflect on my actions.

Since Ellen knew I was a spoilt girl who had never done any dirty chores in my life, she used as her sweet revenge.

I had to clean the Girls' toilets on the fourth floor

All of them!

I spent the entire time complaining and being judged by all the other girls eyeing me disdainfully.

Even when I came home, where I thought I could be free. I was was greeted by my outraged parents.

I truly regretted pulling that prank on Ellen but what good it do if I had already done it? Also,this situation had taught me to think before you act. This, was actually a blessing in disguise.
