Summary: Young Martenpaw was kind soul but the tale of change will be shared, Kind soul can turn into cold and bloodthirsty killer.

Martenpaw woke up, his head and eyes heavy with sleep. His brother, Moosepaw was still snoring away. Martenpaw padded over to his mentor, Ferntail. " Get ready for patrol." Ferntail meowed as she got ready to leave. Martenpaw shook his head, Fireclaw, Mistdapple and Mudfoot gathered for patrol. Martenpaw's father, Acornfang. Martenpaw exited the camp, reaching outskirts of camp.

He lingered at back of patrol, They arrive near border of MudClan and BreezeClan. Martenpaw was proud, he was BreezeClan cat as MudClan lived in wet marshes. Martenpaw thought of being warrior, He could order apprentices, start his own family. " How about we hunt?" Fireclaw spoke, breaking Martenpaw's thoughts. He nodded and parted way from his patrol. He crept with shadows, He flung at robin, killing it with a bite. He murmured gratitude to StarClan and  grasped the prey, ears perked as he slowly rose his head to his father.

Martenpaw hurled himself to nearby bush, and peeked through small opening. Acornfang twisted his head around, looking for while then he yowled, " It's safe!" He sat down, as ginger and white she cat zoomed out. A MudClan warrior! Martenpaw had seen her at the gathering, Her name was Patchfire. Acornfang slightly crossed the border, and started to groom her, as she twisted her tail with his and then she placed her head underneath his father's. " I love you, very much." She mewed, " I do too.. your way more pretty than Cloudbreeze." He meowed with affection. Martenpaw felt growl rumble in his throat, " He is a traitor! A piece of fox-dung!" He whispered to himself and quickly escaped back. 

He found the patrol, and act like nothing happen. Martenpaw strolled back to camp, dropping his catch, arching his back and licking his fur. He sniffed around pile, dragging out a mouse for himself, he gobbled it up within few bites. His father entered the camp, looking around nervously. Martenpaw glared at him, narrowing his eyes then he turned and headed over to apprentice den. Martenpaw curled into a ball, tucking his face in his tail.

2 sunrises later...

Martenpaw was waken up by nudge of his brother, He grunted at Moosepaw but he pointed out into clearing. Martenpaw rose and slid out of den. There he saw limp gray tabby body, Ferntail! He bounded to his lifeless mentor. He poked her and gave her small push.  A tail wrapped around him. " Martenpaw... Badger killed her. We shall honor her loyalty and bravery." Fireclaw murmured, as Marthenpaw fell to his paws, tears racing down his face. " I... I will miss you! T-thank you for everything!!" He sobbed. Moosepaw came over to comfort him as Cloudbreeze gave him few licks.

 Martenpaw had looked at his new mentor, Mudfoot. He had moved on, it was tough but he did for his clan. He charged at Mudfoot, slicing him with no claws for practice. He dodged, when Mudfoot or Moosepaw attacked. Pinning his enemy and then doing a fake paw swipe or attack. " That's all for today." Mudfoot meowed as Martenpaw huffed with exhaustion, The four cats gotten back. The clan had gathered and Acornfang looked away with shame in his amber eyes.

Fogstar stood up and spoke, " Cats of BreezeClan, One of clanmates have betrayed us! This cat is Acornfang, He was caught meeting a MudClan Cat." yowls of fury and surprise rippled.

" We should kill him!" One cat yelled

" No! Exile!" Another hissed loudly.

" Shush! We decided exile for treason! Acornfang, your former  clanmates have perimission to kill you once you leave our clan and territory!" Fogstar snarled as Acornfang nodded with sorrow and shame. Moosepaw, Cloudbreeze looked away from him as Matrenpaw bared his sharp teeth at his father.

4 moons later

Martenpaw decided to follow his father's scent trail, he pursued with Moosepaw. They entered a small den, They saw Patchfire, lying down with a swollen stomache. " You go find father and I deal with 'her'" Martenpaw ordered, Moosepaw nodded and left.

He craned the neck and smirked. " You ruined everything, you stupid mouse-brain! You took my father away and now you must pay!!" He mewed, Patchfire rose but fell. He lunged at she cat and slashed her side, forming a large gash. He sunk his teeth in her throat, delivered the killing bite. Patchfire scream in agony, Patchfire fell limp, Martenpaw gave her final slash on her swollen stomache. He quickly left, surged through forest, meeting a river. He washed himself, red stained water ran down. He ran back to hear yowl from his brother. He slid in, seeing his brother pinned by their former father. " You murdered her! I can see her blood on your filthy paws!" Acornfang snarled.

Martenpaw knocked him off, " Run!" He yelled Martenpaw and Moosepaw ran out, Acornfang trailed behind, " Get to camp and I will distract him!" Martenpaw mewed, They parted, Martenpaw turned and slashed his father, then running again to river, then a long slender snake-like thing hanged on a tree, Martenpaw jumped though it, Acornfang did the same but loop had tighten. Acornfang choked and gasped for air, Martenpaw glared, he went up the tree and pulled the rope, Acornfang kicked and dangled before dying from lack of oxygen.

Martenpaw felt chill down spine and returned to camp, lying to Moosepaw, that he saw Acornfang drown. Later, Martenpaw left the camp, Moosepaw following like shadow. Martenpaw stopped near thunderpath, " Martenpaw!" Moosepaw called. " You killed her, didn't you?!" Moosepaw bristled. Martenpaw lunged at his brother, grabbed him the scuff and muffled out " So what? You know and I cant have you telling every cat! My anger risen and so has my thirst to kill, ever since father left us and Ferntail died!" He hissed, flinging Moosepaw onto thunderpath, Moosepaw rose but sadly was killed by a monster.

Martenpaw smirked, He will soon be a warrior and target the deputy and be a leader of weak pity BreezeClan!
