The Room (Paranormal)
⚠⚠⚠ Mild Gore Warning ⚠⚠⚠
The bell rang, and I sprinted towards my locker. I had to get out of there before death pays a visit. Years ago, a terrifying event happened at my school; an event would change the school's reputation forever. A man had managed to enter the school with a gun and a knife. But just as he decimated an entire class, he was trapped in a room near the gym; a loud bang of a door-shut echoed through the empty halls, and after some muffled commotion, the school went deathly silent. He was nowhere to be seen and the room that he went into was never found. He was said to have starved to death in the room, but there's no evidence to prove he is dead. That room is often rumoured to appear and disappear. Students who go into the room were never to be found again and those who opened the door, knocked on the door, or looked inside out of curiosity were said to suffer severe consequences.
Since then, strange things have always happened near the area of the man's disappearance. One time, the sports equipment inside the gym managed to break the glass windows and attack students who were walking through the corridors of the school nearest to the gym. Three people were sent to the hospital with serious injuries, making the teachers change the glass to be thicker and lock the doors to the gym. Two years later on a cold winter morning a classmate brought in his water gun collection for a project presentation, during which the classroom temperature became freezing cold. Meanwhile, the guns started to act like they had a mind of their own, shooting water at everyone, and not a single person was holding them. Many were sent home due to hypothermia. That class was located closest to the gym; after relocation, such things never happened again.
I always deemed these stories as a joke to scare people. I believed that there must be a scientific or logical explanation to these events. I've always guessed that that room is in a constant quantum state; it's existent and nonexistent at the same time. That would explain its appearances and disappearances, but it's not possible for such a thing to exist; rooms are too big and quantum states only apply to subatomic particles. The scary activity people witnessed could be hallucinations caused by fungi, since the school humidity is high all the time. Perfect conditions for such things to blossom in forgotten corners of rooms and hallways. The hypothermia experienced might as well have been the result of heater malfunction. That doesn't explain the case where three people were sent to the hospital following the gym equipment accident, the gunman's absence, and the missing students though.
As I thought about this, I stumbled through the empty halls upon the locked gym and... another door? I don't remember seeing that near the gym. I opened the door and peeked through the crack. I wanted to see what's inside, but it was outrageously dark inside. I pushed the door open wide. I was still unable to see anything inside the room, in fact, the darkness seemed to spread. This piqued my curiosity, causing me to call out to see if anyone was there, but it didn't take long for me to realize something was off. The air was starting to become odorous, putrid of rotten flesh mixed with hints of blood and rotten eggs, making my stomach twist. Is this what death smells like? I was actually quite surprised over the fact that I didn't empty out my stomach in pure disgust.
Thud
I froze.
Thud Thud
Huh?
Thud Bang
Wha-!
Thud Thud Thud Bang Bang Thud
Who's there?!
I could feel my hair raise and chills run down my spine. I shut the door quickly and immediately backed away from the door. Silence. I took a few deep shaky breaths, reassuring myself that kids were probably just running and jumping about upstairs. School was pretty much over anyway. But just as I was about to leave-
Crack, Crack, Crack!
I looked over to see the breaking window of the gym door that threatened to shatter with one touch. A peculiar shadow of a hooded figure hovered above it, holding something, and painted on that window in fresh blood was: "You're next. See you. =)"
That's when I realized I'm not alone. Not anymore.

I hope you enjoyed this! [My first scary story ever- I hope this isn't bad]
