Nobody and Everyone (Random)
Once upon a time, a girl named Nobody McNothingness started a business, Nobody's No-Nonsense Nothings. Her No-Nonsense Nothings were a huge hit, as they were balls of plastic that had absolutely nothing inside them. Not even air or any other gases. Opening one up was like opening up a ball of space. Just space, with absolutely Nothing.
Well, one day, a boy bought one of these Nothings for his dad, whose name was Everyone McEverythingness. He could fill up anything with whatever he wanted – except Ms. McNothingness's Nothings. He'd wanted one for so long so he could explore further; the only time he'd ever gotten to use a Nothing was when his friend Anybody McAnythingness let Everyone borrow his Nothing. Everyone had tried and tried for hours, but nothing would appear from Everyone in the Nothing. As you may have guessed, this annoyed Everyone very much; he was used to having anything whenever he wanted it, where he wanted it. The Nothing simply would not produce a box of hot pizza.
So Everyone had sadly returned the Nothing to Anybody, wishing he could take more time to explore. But now that his son had given him a Nothing as a present, he was overjoyed. He gifted his son with a new puppy and set to work on the Nothing, vowing to resolve this if it was the last thing he ever did.
Meanwhile, Nobody was sitting alone at her desk, pondering why this man Everyone McEverythingness was so intent on figuring out her Nothing. It was slightly annoying. Sure, Everyone was cute and single, as his partner had left him with a 3-year-old kid, years back, but that didn't make him any easier to tolerate.
One day, Nobody heard a knock on her door and peered out to find a grumpy-looking Everyone tapping his foot impatiently outside. She opened the door and hesitantly greeted Everyone. Why would he want anything to do with her?
"Ms. McNothingness, I believe you've created something called the Nothing," the handsome man stated in a deep, warm voice. "You do know I have the power to conjure up anything, wherever I want it?" He continued when Nobody nodded her head, slightly confused. "Well, I can't do that with your Nothing, and it's really starting to get on my nerves. I wonder if you could maybe show me how these Nothings are designed, and how they repel my magic so that I cannot work it."
Nobody sighed and led Everyone in, proceeding to tell him how her own power worked. "So basically, I just tap my finger on the inside of the ball and it fills up with nothing," she finished, demonstrating on a glass vase in the center of her living room. "But I can also get rid of it like so." She tapped the vase again, and it refilled with beautiful roses. "My magic counters yours, as nothing and everything are complete opposites and cannot work together at once."
Everyone nodded slowly, processing this. "Thank you, Ms. McNothingness–"
She interrupted him suddenly. "Please, call me Nobody."
"Nobody, then," Everyone continued, beginning to smile. "You're saying I can't work my magic because you've already used yours in the same place?"
Nobody nodded, happy that he finally understood. "That's correct."
"Well, I believe you've given me a big gift today, and we've gotten to know each other more. So I will say this right now: I think everything and nothing CAN work together. Don't you agree?" he asked, a twinkle in his eye. When she grinned, he continued. "Nobody McNothingness, would you like to go out with me?"
Nobody was overjoyed. No one had ever asked her out before because of her loner personality, but now here was Everyone, leading her to a date as if it were nothing – or Nothing – at all. "Yes, Everyone McEverything," she replied firmly. "I will be your girlfriend."
«FIVE YEARS LATER»
Nobody and Everyone were now happily married, and Everyone's son loved his new stepmother. Nobody was pregnant too, with a daughter. They'd named her Something McSomethingness – honoring both of her parents and being unique at the same time. They were one big happy family, and they lived happily ever after.
