Chapter 1: The Seventh Sister (3/26/19)
"Just tell me where they are," the female inquisitor stated with her robot sounding voice.
Her voice seemed to echo throughout the hollow metal room.
Sabine and Ezra had gotten caught by two inquisitors in an abandoned medical bay that had been used during the Clone Wars. Their objective had been to grab some supplies and leave, but their mission was spoiled when they ran into two newly, terrifying inquisitors.
Chopper had been with them as well, but got separated when they were on the run. Neither one knew where their droid friend was now, although they suspected it wouldn't be somewhere pleasant. The female inquisitor had mini probe like droids searching the whole facility as they spoke. Ezra and Sabine had no idea if Chopper was in hiding or had already been captured.
"I'm not talking to you right now!" Ezra said calmly and turned to Sabine for reassurance. Her face was blank and not the expression Ezra had been looking for.
"Where are your Jedi friends hiding?" the female inquisitor asked again.
She clicked a button on the side of her helmet that revealed her face. Her skin was an inhumanly yellow color and had dotted reddish markings on her strange face. Her eyes were yellow, and where the white was supposed to be, it was black with small red veins that looked like a red sunburst.
"Why should I tell you?" Ezra shot back, feeling annoyed.
The larger, more intimidating male inquisitor suddenly reached out and grabbed Sabine by the back of her shirt. Just as fast, he activated his lightsaber and held it to her neck. Sabine looked to Ezra with her brown, pleading eyes that were less than a foot away from the deadly weapon.
"Okay, okay!" Ezra pleaded, not being able to comprehend what he would do without his friend, "They are just outside, probably in our ship, waiting for a report from us," he gestured to himself and Sabine, who was still being held hostage.
The male inquisitor let her go and she crawled over to sit close to Ezra. They wished Zeb were there to smash the inquisitor's heads together, or even Chopper and his grumpy attitude. The outdated droid was always good to have in a fight. Ezra could almost envision Chopper, racing into the circular room on one wheel with his electric probe out and ready to use on the two inquisitors.
"Oh, your capture will please Lord Vader," the female inquisitor said, "Is your ship in the way of our escape?"
"How should I know?" Ezra shrugged.
"We leave now," the female seemed to be in charge as she seemed to talk a lot and command her brother species more than speak to him, "Go look for their ship and put a tracking device on it. I will take the prisoners,"
"Seventh Sister... This was my assignment," the brother argued, "I will take them,"
"If you claim that this is your mission, then go lead the others astray. I will get the prize away in one piece. Now get to it Fifth Brother,"
When they spoke, they both seemed to put emphasis on their strange names.
The Fifth Brother only glared at the prisoners and his sister and left down a hallway. The Seventh Sister looked to her prisoners and indicated that they stand.
As the siblings had been arguing on who was going to take who, Ezra had been thinking of a plan of escape. Ezra knew it wasn't the best idea, but it was better than sitting around getting captured. He stood up and used the Force to turn on his wrist com. He focused as he took the extra moment to silence the piece of device with the Force. If it beeped or if Kanan answered, the plan would fail.
"So, where are you taking us?" Ezra asked louder than he needed to. He wanted to be sure Kanan got the message.
"I already told you, boy," the inquisitor stated and pushed Ezra and Sabine along through the opposite doorway the other inquisitor had gone through, "Lord Vader,"
"And who is that?" Ezra asked as he received a warning glare from Sabine, "I have never met him before,"
"Oh, I think you have," the inquisitor smiled once more before putting her helmet back into place over her face, "Here's a clue, the sith lord,"
Ezra had a moment of realization as he thought back to a couple days ago when he and Kanan had failed at fighting the sith lord that had been clad in all black, with a scary mask that made his breathing sound echoy and intimidating. The inquisitor sensed his sudden shock and took advantage of it.
"Yes, fear I am sensing. Lord Vader will be very pleased," she said again, and then stopped and looked at Ezra.
He stopped and looked at her, suddenly fearing if she was sensing something else. In fact, she was. Fast as lightning, the inquisitor activated her lightsaber and slashed it down Ezra's right forearm. He screamed in pain as the blade cut through his com link and grazed the skin beneath the technical device.
"Ezra!" Sabine shouted and dropped to the floor where Ezra was kneeling, grasping his arm close to his chest.
"That's what you deserve for attempting to deceive me," the inquisitor explained as she slammed her foot on the com link. It shattered it a loud crunching sound.
Ezra hoped Kanan had heard the conversation and would know to avoid the Fifth Brother that was coming for them now. The female villain hauled Ezra to his feet and pushed him forward, along with Sabine who followed close behind Ezra. She was looking at him with concern written all over her face.
"You are a sneaky one aren't you? For your sake, let's hope your friends did not hear our little chat,"
"How are we all going to fit in your puny ship?" Ezra asked. The light jokiness of his recent tone now gone.
Sabine gave him a warning glance that said not to say another word. She was worried for him, Ezra could sense it.
"Talkative one too, I see," the inquisitor replied as she used the Force to easily open a blast door that was blocking their way.
"Where's that rust bucket when we need him?" Ezra whispered to Sabine as the inquisitor focused on the door.
Sabine just shrugged and looked ahead distracted. She still wished Zeb were there. He had opted out of this mission, even when Sabine noted that he would be helpful to have around when lifting the medical crates. Ezra had quickly insisted that he was strong enough to do it himself. Sabine let it go, but knew the boy had only been wanting to show off his strength.
"Move," the inquisitor said and again pushed the teens through the door, towards the TYE fighter that was waiting for them.
Ezra stumbled on the grate of the blast door and almost fell, but Sabine caught him, even with her bound hands. Soon the trio made it to the fighter. Ezra looked around one last time in hopes to see their grumpy droid come to the rescue, but to no avail, he was nowhere to be seen.
"Do as I say or there will be trouble, got it?" the inquisitor barely gave the rebels time to answer before she started speaking again, "Get in the ship and sit on the ground against the walls of the ship.
"Not to be troublesome, but the walls are a little, um, curvular, don't you think?" Ezra complained as he stepped into the TYE, with Sabine right behind him.
She watched his back as she entered before the inquisitor did as well. Sabine knew comments like that would certainly get her space sibling into more trouble than he already was in.
Before she closed the hatch that sealed them in, she waited for her prisoners to cooperate by sitting. Once they did, she took thick air flight straps and looped them around both their chests that secured them to the wall they both leaned against.
"See, plenty of room," she said painfully cheerful and then sat in the pilot's seat, "Now don't try anything or I will have no choice but to tell Lord Vader that you deserve more punishment,"
Sabine looked to Ezra, who had his head bowed and face expressionless as he grasped his red gashed forearm.
"What now?" she asked when he looked up at her.
Ezra wasn't sure, but knew that they would escape, because they always did and knew in his heart that he always would.
Author's Note: What are your feelings about the Seventh Sister? Personally I think she is creepy, but makes as an interesting villain.
Comment what you think should happen next! :D
