He sits in his cell,

Nathan has his door locked as he holds back tears

And he lays on his bed

He lays back, resting his head to his pillow

Covers his head and closes his eyes

Nathan throws an arm over his eyes as he squeezes them tightly shut, a few tears rolling down his face

He sees a smoking gun

He remembered the bullies. He still resents them

And the coward he ran

He remembered how he had ran to her house

And in his arms is the bleeding,

He held her arms up, exposing the scars and fresh wounds littering her arms

Love of his life

He remembered how much she had meant to him

And she cries,

She had started crying, told him everything

Kiss it all better,

"Kiss it all better?" She had begged

I'm not ready to go

"I don't really want to die if it means leaving you"

It's not your fault love

"I'm sorry" Nathan had said, producing tears of his own
"Hey, it's not your fault"

You didn't know, you didn't know

"You didn't know. I didn't tel you." She said

Her hands are so cold

A few weeks later, he sits with her next to him. She's experiencing an extremely episode of apathy. She didn't care that he was crushing because she had cut herself again. She didn't care her grades were falling. And this apathy was followed by sadness. She started bawling her eyes out.

And he kisses her face

Nathan wished her and kissed her before hugging her tightly

And says "Everything will be all right"

She continued to sob, but not as loud.
"Shhh. Everything will be alright" he assured her

He noticed the gun,

He heard laughing and looked up. He saw a group of girls that he recognized as the bullies.

And his rage grew inside

He was angered. He wanted to scream, break something, punch them- something to get the anger out. But alas, he couldn't do any of those. Not here, not with her watching.

He said "I'll avenge my lover tonight"

The next day, he spots the girls in the hallway. He confronts them.
"Oh? And what are you going to do about it?" The lead girl asked.
Nathan doesn't give a verbal answer. He just starts throwing punches. He throws one girl a giant the locker, knocks one in the floor, and has one hand around a girl's shirt collar and is about to punch her when he hears someone scream his name.
"Nathan?!"
He looked over to see his girlfriends. Before he can say anything, he's knocked out.

And she cried

He wakes up in the nurses' office, his girlfriend at his side. She flashed a small smile at him.

Kiss it all better,

"Kiss it all better?" She asked as he flinched at his sore head.

I'm not ready to go

"I'm not ready to leave you quite yet. Continue to rest"
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect you"

It's not your fault love

"It's not your fault, Nathan."

You didn't know, you didn't know

"It's not your job to fix my problem" she whispered as he passed out again.

Now he sits behind prison bars

He now sits in his room, hands tabled in his hair. Why. Why. Why. He had been suspended due to the fight.

Twenty-five to life and she's not in his
arms

During the week out of school, his girlfriend had killed herself. Committed suicide.

He couldn't bring her back with a bullet to the heart

He wasn't able to save her by getting rid of the bullies. He blames solely himself for her death.

Of the back of a man and tore his world apart

Those girls. In their quest of self-righteousness to crest their world, they had destroyed his.

He holds onto a memory

He remembers when they had first said
"I love you" to each other

All it is, is a memory

He remembers it as if it was yesterday

Hey, hey

He remembered how he had found her, bleeding to death in her bathtub. Water-diluted blood floated around her dressed body. She had dressed up for the occasion.

He cries

He called an ambulance. She groaned, showing signs of consciousness. He had called out to her-

He mumbled to himself as he laid on his bed, drifting off as he mumbled the words to her spirit-
