The Excitment About Nightmares

In which Harley has an interesting dream about her and the Joker...
------------

Harley pov-
It was a cold night, about mid point of January. And here I was, alone shivering under the satin sheets.
Puddin had left for work and it was the third day since he was gone. His absence was killing me.
I lay wide awake on the empty king sized bed, my body paler then snow. Getting up from my position, I close the window, and change into sweatpants. The Jokers sweatpants to be exact.

Crawling back underneath the sheets, I tightly shut my eyes, hoping to fall asleep.
And I finally got my command...

--------

"Open." The whisper of his low voice soothes my ears, making me slowly open my eyes.

There I saw him, the love of my life, staring right back at me.
Only this time, he looked a bit different. He looked like, though as if he had no scars.
His face was paler and smoother then usual to.
Maybe it's because I was dreaming...

"Harley." The sound of his voice was enough to make me stare into his eyes.
He blows a strand of loose hair out of his face, smiling wide enough to show his silver, medal teeth.
I begin to giggle, stopping when he looks at me seriously.

"I killed Ivy yesterday." He says, staring at me bluntly.

Instantly knowing he was joking, I laugh violently, grinning widely at him.

"H-Harley I'm not kidding." He whispers, sending chills to my spine.
I stare at his bland reflection, realizing he was actually serious.

My breaths become heavier as I turn my gaze away from him, staring at the light pink pillow beside me.

"B-baby, baby, I'm joking!" He says, thinking I was about to pass out.
He pulls me closer to him, looking at my face which was now stunned.

He suddenly lets go, laughing childishly.
Instead of saying anything, I continue staring at him, noticing all of his sudden changes of mood.

He once again stops laughing, gently biting his bottom lip.
With a flick movement of his wrist, a gun appears in his hand.
My eyes follow his every movement, realizing he was pointing the gun right at me.

My eyes widen as I stare directly in his eyes, not taking my gaze off of him.
Both my heart rate and breathing begins going faster.
Stop it Harls.
This is all just a dream.
Soon you'll wake up and forget none of this ever happened.
But he's being so different...

"Mistah J, stop. You're scaring me." I say faintly, loud enough for him to hear.

Instead of him putting the gun down, he finally looks back at me and smirks.

"Oh honey... that's my job."
He says, violently laughing before pulling the trigger...

-----------------

"Aaaaaaaagghhhghhghh!"

My screams become louder before I finally wake myself up.
He was gonna kill me...

The cold, windy breeze in the air makes me shiver, the burning sensation in my throat makes me even more scared.
That my baby, the love of my life, was gonna kill me.
But it was only a nightmare.

I turn the nearest lap on, putting on a pair of socks while trying my best not to cry.
I needed him by my side...
Instead of rolling back to bed, I walk toward the kitchen, turning on every light in the house.
The tiniest things made me jump, I felt as if I was still dreaming.

Trying to stay calm, I finally lay on the couch, clenching onto a blanket.

Even with every single light on, the windows closed, and laying here wide awake, I was still scared.
Scared that somebody was gonna come in and murder me tonight.
Scared that today would be my final night on earth.
Scared that Puddin doesn't love me.

When I finally was able to shut my eyes, the sound of the door unlocking caught my attention.
My eyes shot open, widening through the noise.
Grabbing the nearest weapon, I continued to stare at the door.

In a second the door flung open, leaving me in a midst of shock, covering my face mumbling "Please don't kill me" over an over. Was I in another nightmare?
The thought of a knife stabbing me in the back, or a bullet going right through my head came to mind, but nothing happened.
Until I hear light chuckles coming from beside me.

"And why would I kill ya?" His charming voice enters my ears, enough to make my heart rate slower.

I daringly open my eyes, relieved to find the love of my life looking back at me.
Even with the displeased look on his face or the dark bags under his eyes, he still looked handsome. He always did.

A loud sigh comes out of my mouth as I warp both my arms around his neck, pulling him in for a hug.
He gladly accepts it, tightening our embrace.

The silence in the lighted room was enough to make me calmer, his warm breath heating my neck.
I finally felt safe with him.

And this time... it wasn't a dream nor a nightmare.
