Sabre's hands were shaking, a few muted coughs escaping his lips as he stared at the spot his twin brother had stood seconds before. He couldn't move, feelings of sadness and fear running through him. Shadow had betrayed him, after saving his life just moments ago.
Sabre's knees grew weak, causing him to collapse and land on his hands and knees. He let out a sob as Time and Dark ran to his side. "WHY!?" He screamed, "WHY CAN'T THINGS JUST GO OUR WAY FOR ONCE!?"
Time hugged Sabre tightly, sighing. "I'm sorry, Sabre. But we can fix this." He tried, putting a hand on the back of Sabre's head. The human leaned into Time's embrace, Dark joining the hug as well. "Yeah, we can get him to come to his senses, right?" Dark asked.
The human simply went silent, barely able to process the events of the day. Time glanced at Dark and nodded towards Sabre, Dark getting the message and picking Sabre up. Time teleported the group back to their home in the village, where he led Dark upstairs to put Sabre to bed.
Sabre grumbled a bit when he was set into bed. "I'm not a child, guys. I'm fine-" he tried, only for Time to flick him on the forehead. "Ow! What was that for?" The human pouted, getting a glare from Time. "You, sir, just fought Void, got electrocuted several times, have several stab wounds and a gaping gash in your side. The LEAST you could do is get some rest." Time chided, pushing Sabre to lie back down.
Sabre simply groaned and grabbed his blanket, rolling over to wrap it around himself. "Shouldn't he be bandaged and put in clean clothes first..?" Dark worried, going to unroll Sabre, who grumbled and pouted. "Make up your minds, sleep or no sleep!?" He demanded. Time simply laughed. "Some TLC is definetly in order here. We get you bandaged up, then you sleep, got it?" He told Sabre, helping him up. Sabre swatted at Time's hands, but then just accepted the help as his friends cleaned his wounds and bandaged him up.
The human was finally able to change into clean clothes as his friends left the room. He sighed to himself. He felt so lucky to have such caring friends, even if he didn't always want the help. He slipped a blue t-shirt on and smiled, lying down in bed as Time re-entered the room.
"Thanks, Time, for helping me out back there. Void would still be alive if it weren't for you." He said softly, staring up at the ceiling. Time sat on the edge of the bed with a tray in his hands, handing Sabre a mug of hot cocoa and a plate with a few cookies. "And if it weren't for you, Sabre, I'd still be stuck in my dimension with my rampaging brother." He replied, picking his tea cup from the tray. Sabre sat up and smiled, grabbing a cookie to nibble on.
The two sat in silence, just enjoying each other's presence. Sabre took a sip of his cocoa then looked to Time, who gave him a smile. "Thank you, Time. Seriously. You're amazing." He said, which caused Time's face to turn a soft pink. The two stared at each other before laughing. "Thanks, Sabre."
Sabre placed his mug and plate on his nightstand, turning to make himself comfortable in his blanket. Time gave Sabre a pat on the head before taking the dishes, placing them on the tray. "Have a good night's rest, Sabre. I plan on making you a big breakfast tomorrow morning." He reassured. "Thanks, Time. I'm really thankful to have someone like you!" Sabre said, "and tell Dark I say thanks to him too, he did a good job protecting you."
Time nodded. "I will. See you in the morning, Sabre." With that, the doors shut and Sabre was left in his room. He sighed to himself and closed his eyes. He would get Shadow back, he'd get Shadow to come to his senses. He was determined to get his brother back.
