You glance backwards, grinning at Charley over your shoulder as you run through the leaves, kicking up clouds of them in your wake. She smirks, and dashes over to your side, unnoticeably sticking a foot out in front of you. Stumbling, you try to right yourself as she skips ahead, whistling smugly, her fiery hair flying out from underneath her charcoal beanie. You never tire of that hair, tangling your hands through it roughly as her lips mash against yours, braiding and twisting it intricately as you cuddle on the sofa, brushing it after a warm, calming shower as she leans happily back into you. Your mind flashes back to the night before, snuggled serenely on the couch, Charley sprawled contentedly in your lap as you watched the rain splatter and splash against the windows, the pattering lulling you both into the warm embrace of sleep, curled into each other. You awake later, and moving carefully as not to disturb her, you carry Charley back to your room, setting her gently on her side of the bed before settling into yours. She stirs gently, her emerald eyes fluttering open as you press a soft kiss to her lips, and she squirms, moving herself into your waiting arms as you scoot closer into Charley's soft warmth. You sigh contentedly as sleep once again swallows you, enveloping you in a downy softness that holds the promise of sweet dreams and hope.
