Short story challenge.

Kieran, my youngest brother said, 'trees'. (I asked him to give me one random word - topic)

Title: To The Trees

I walked carefully, one cautious step at a time. I made my way forward, only looking down. Ripped navy jeans lead down to dirty-red trainers, picking their way through the neglected bottles that had been broken and the crispy plastic wrappers and pieces of scrap metal that were abandoned.
I was determined not to make a noise, Not to lift my head. Not to look around at the horrifying world. My arms fell limply at my sides, I didn't note what position my hands were in; my attention was elsewhere.
I was eager to get away and I'm glad now that I was, I got away from the noisy, busy life I used to have. I walked away, far from the so called home I used to have. The place I used to live, that technology based city, still stands tall, as if nothing ever changed. But a lot did. In a bad way...
Walking away, I smiled. I grinned as I neared the edge of the forest, knowing I would finally get away.
From the soul-possessing technology to the beautiful, life enhancing wilderness, to the trees.

(Not a true story, although I do have negative views towards most technology and VERY positive views towards nature)
