Hiya!
I was on DofE (duke of Edinburgh) over Friday and Saturday. It was awesome at the same time as terrible. I will explain:

We had to walk using just a map and compas (and common sense) to camp. Then back again, a different route the second day.

First day:

• Had to walk a pretty nice route with trees one side and slate on the other.
• Then about two hours later, cross over a road to my type of place : lots of rocks we had to climb over with puddles in between.
• Then we had the worst part. - well, second worse. (The part that created the worst). Very very very wet and boggy field. By the end of it, our shoes were soaked! Our feet were cold.
• Then we had to cross back over the road and walk across a mountainous path with mist. We could only see about 40 m in front and 10m either side. Our shoes and feet were soaked and freezing and Lauren had a bad cold the whole time and Hannah couldn't stop complaining!. Worst part!
• We then walked though marshy fields.
• when we finally got to camp, we worked out how long we'd been walking- 7hrs!!!

• i cooked dinner while Lauren and Hannah put tent up.
• we ate.
• I got into the tent to get changed into pjs and what did I see? A giant slug. Neither of the others would do anything so I had to use my cup to get it out. -gross. Did not use that cup again. Even after Lauren washed it for me.

Second day:

• we walked a much nicer path, through a forest type place and it was ace until about 10 mins before the end when we didn't know where we were. We had to just keep walking until we found something locate us on the map. -which was the end! XD
