Prompt: "I wish I knew how to quit you."
"I wish I knew how to quit you." The man mumbled. His grip tightened on the aged photograph, vision blurring with tears. Pressure built in her chest, strangling his heart, the muscle crying out with every lonely beat.
Life wasn't fair. He knew that since an early age, but he thought he knew just how unfair it could be. Never, did he think he'd be so wrong.
His eyes lifted from the photograph, scanning the room, his gaze landing on every picture of his wife. Each one was a mockery, the happy couple imprisoned in a moment of time--a moment wrapped in happiness.
His teeth ground together, his grip tightening another fraction. The picture crumpled in his hands and he looked down, loosening his hold. His thumb brushed over her sweet, smiling face as a cold claws of 9ncoming tears wrapped around his throat. He bowed his head, lifting the photograph to his forehead, shoulders trembling.
"Please come back."
