Coffee
I was sitting in my favorite coffee shop and I had my book sitting in front of me. All of my papers and my work was scattered across the rest of the table. It was Saturday, and yet here I was. In the coffee shop with my coffee and all my work, it was pitiful. It was gloomy day and the coffee shop was filled to the brim with people trying to warm up. I was focused on the book in front of me when a man tripped and fell, and spilled his coffee and mine all over the table and us. He apologized constantly as I got up angrily. Then I looked up at him. He was tall he had brown hair, dark eyes, and this warm smile that softened my heart. "It's perfectly fine...", I said as he smiled warily back at me. "I'm Adam.", he said as he helped me get napkins to clean up the mess. "I'm Amelia.", I said with a smile. We talked quietly about simple things as we cleaned the table. "Thank you for everything!", I smiled at him as he was about to walk out. "No problem, I'll have my wife put your coffee on my tab.", He says and walks out. My jaw dropped when he said that, I had thought he was flirting with me. My thoughts were cut short when I heard a deep voice say from behind me: "Is there anyone sitting here?" It was a averagely tall man with green eyes and red hair. "Of course not." I said nervously. Instead of taking the other chair like I thought he would, he sat down. "I'm Reed, and you are?", he says in that surprisingly deep voice. "Amelia, Amelia Grant.", I say with a smile as we sit down and enjoy our coffee and have a lovely chat. I finished my coffee, and as I was about to get up he says, "Amelia, wait! Would you like to spend the day with me?". I did spend the day with Reed; he took me the pier and we talked, laughed, and became very well acquainted with each other. I went home that night and just as I opened the door the phone rang. "Amelia Grant?", the person on the other end asked. "Yes, that'd be me.", I said with a laugh. "Were you with Reed Walters this afternoon?", the person questioned. "Yes, I was. Is there something wrong?", I say worried for my new friend. "He's being questioned about a murder and his alibi is being with you..." And that's why I don't do work at the coffee shop anymore.
