When In Egypt...
The Doctor and Donna followed Clara outside of the TARDIS. Donna gasped. "Where are we?"
"Ancient Egypt." Clara said, as she lead them through the dunes of a very hot desert.
The Doctor raised an eyebrow. "And where is The Doctor? I highly doubt I would just leave my companion all alone..."
Clara stopped walking abruptly and turned around to face him. "Yeah, well, you do. You do it a lot actually. There was that one time in Spain, that time on the moon, that time on Barcelona, that time in Rome..." She trailed off, as she counted on her fingers. A tear had escaped her eye and was falling down her cheek.
The Doctor looked at her sadly. "Oh, Clara... I am so, so, sorry. I-" He was inturrupted by a loud banging noise off to the right of the dunes that they were in. "I will have to apologize for myself another time. What was that?"
"It sounded like a bomb or something." Donna said, frowning in the direction of the banging.
Clara wiped the tear off of her face. "Very observant, Captain Obvious."
"OI! Listen here, you!" Donna started.
The Doctor held up a hand to silence her. "Donna please, not now. Clara, how long have you been here?"
"Including today and yesterday? ... Two weeks." Clara said.
"Oh, Clara, I am sorry. I am so very, very sorry." The Doctor apologized, before another bang came again from the right of the dunes.
"Is that banging normal?" Donna asked, as a third bang sounded.
Clara crossed her arms and glared at Donna. "What do you think?"
"I think you need to shut your yapper." Donna sassed back at her.
The Doctor bowed his head slightly and sighed. "Both of you... shush. Come on!" He started running towards the banging.
Donna shook her head and followed him and Clara. "You know, sane people would run away from something suspicious. But, NOOOOO, we have to run towards it!"
"Oh, you must be new at this." Clara said, looking behind her at Donna. "Don't worry, you'll get used to it."
They ran towards the banging which turned out to be coming from a pyramid. They ran up to the entrance and looked inside.
"It looks awfully dark in there. Anyone bring a flashlight?" Donna asked.
The Doctor shrugged and brought out his Sonic Screwdriver. "I don't know about a flashlight, but I've got this." He said, grinning. He pressed the button and turned it on.
Donna shook her head. "Men and their toys..." She whispered, under her breath.
"Oh, yours is blue... The Doctor's is green." Clara stated.
The Doctor looked at her confused for a second. "I am The Doctor..."
"The other Doctor," Clara replied. "God, this is confusing."
"You're telling us..." Donna said. "Lead the way, Spaceman."
The Doctor walked into the entrance of the Pyramid that sloped downwards, holding up his Sonic, and led them into the Unknown, as another banging was heard.
Eventually the tunnel that they were in, opened up into a large underground cavern. The Doctor turned off his Sonic as there was no need for light anymore. Torches lined the Cavern walls evenly, exposing the creatures that dwelled inside. The Doctor grabbed Donna and Clara and pushed them behind him at the entrance of the cave.
"Oi!" Donna exclaimed.
The Doctor put a finger on his lips. "Shhhh..." He whispered. He turned around and looked into the cave. He cringed as metal was banging on metal. He watched in horror as a Cyberman raised his hand, revealing a long metal rod.
Donna leaned into the Doctor and whispered in his ear. "Doctor, what are they doing?"
The Doctor shook his head. "I don't know..." He whispered back. "But I intend to find out. ... Look..."
He pointed past the Cyberman at three cages that were hanging from the ceiling of the cage. One of them held...
"Doctor..." Clara gasped, quietly.
The Doctor nodded. "I know. Don't worry, we're going to get him, er, me out of there. But, first... we need... a distraction." He said slowly, looking at Donna.
"Me?!" Donna whispered, incredulously. "Why me? Why am I always the distraction?"
The Doctor grinned, rubbing his hands together. "Because your brilliant at it. Ok, here's the plan. Donna, you go in there pretending to be a new recruit. I'll go in after you and talk to them. Clara, you edge yourself around the room and free, ... well, ... me."
"Doctor..." Clara said. "Your plans...?"
"I know." The Doctor replied, still whispering. "But, this one will work! I promise."
Donna took a deep breath, before straightening up and walking out into the cave.
