Nick looked up at his mother fear in his eyes. He knew it was the day. Nick's mom kept on saying "Everything is going to be all right, Just like last time."

  He knew this was true he was now thirteen years old. His little brother gave him a hug. His brother (Jerry) was only six so he didn't have to compete. A man in a white shirt opened thedoor and shoved him outside, his mom and brother walked out of the house. His little brother trailing behind his mom.

  Nick's dad was at work and could not make it to the reaping, here we go again Nick thought for the third time. He got is finger pricked for the third time. Walked over with the other boys. 

  A strange pale, glossy looking lady came out and announced "Welcome, welcome district five. To the reaping of the Fifth annual Hunger Games." 

   So many people were quivering with fear and anxiety, weeping, shouting, kicking and even barfing.

"As always, ladies first." The girl said and reached into the bowl of paper. "Lilian Everdeen!" She announced excitetly.

  Nick had heard of the Everdeens, they were archers and hunters. They also were poor and were planning to move to district 12.

The girl walked up to the podium crying, she must be around fifteen years old. " Can we have a round of applause for this young lady?" The Lady asked the crowd.

Instead of clapping everybody raised their hand, showing three fingers. The lady hesitated. "Time for the boys." The girl reached out to the other glass ball, pulled out a piece of paper. Nick's heart was racing, he looked at his mom, then his little brother, his best friend Maggs. 

"Nick Simian" She said.

  Those two words sunk into his mind, his heart dropped, all of a sudden two white men pick Nick up, his brother, mom and Maggs are all crying. Next thing he knows he is on the podium in front of everyone.  "Can we have a round of applause for this young gentlemen." She said.

  Again all the kids and parents stuck out three fingers. "You have three minutes!" She announced. My mom, MAggs and my little brother ran towards me.

"It's going to be all right" my mom said.  I had just realized I was crying, my little brother was hugging me. Maggs kept on saying something I couldn't hear. I looked over to the girl she was with her family crying as well. 

"It is time to go!" The girl announced.  "I love you!" My mom said. Before Nick knew it he was being dragged by one of the white suited man .  There names were keepers, suppose to help everything stay come and in place for the capitol.

Nick was now thrown into a white bus looking thing. The girl was right behind Nick. the bus doors shut and the bus started moving.  He looked up, there where to keepers, the glossy looking girl, the other tribute and a preppy looking man.

"Hi, my name is Louise." The glossy looking girl said.

"This is your mentor Carl." Louise explained. "Hi." He replied.

" Because your district has not won a Hunger Games yet you all are having a capitol mentor" Louise explained.

  The word Capitol sank into Nick's flesh as if it were a swear word.

"So do you have any advice for us?" The other tribute asked.

"Yes, but first would you like something to eat?" Carl asked. "Also what are your names?"

"Mine is Lillian." She replied angrily.

"Mine is Nick." Nick replied in a grumpy way.

"So some of the tips I have learned is the body position....."  Carl said, talking for hours and hours until they arrived at the Capitol.

"Remember you all have only three days till the Games start." Carl reminded them.

Louise was walking them to their rooms to get changed.

Louise, Lillian, Carl and Nick all sat down to the feast in front of them, they talked, but it was mostly everyone else Nick remaned silent still not accepting the fact that he was going into the Hunger Games.  

"So um, Nick, the training is tomorrow, which category will you pick?" Carl asked.

"I think Tredent." Nick merely replied.

"Good." Carl said. There was an awkward silence. " I'm full." Nick said and left the room.

The training center was huge, smelled funny and scary competitors. Nick knew it wasn't all about training either it was about allies. Nick knew he also had to prove himself worthy for allies. 

Nick went over and grabbed a trendnet, he threw it at all the obstacles that came his way, when he was done he only grabbed the attention of two people. One was Lillian and the other was a district three girl. 

"Hi, my name is Scarlett." She said. "Hi, do you want to be my allie ?" Nick said not controlling the words that came from his mouth.

 A look of relief, anger and blush came onto Scarlett's face. "oh, umm, Sure, I guess." Scarlett mumbled. "What are you good at?" Nick asked.

"Making traps." she replied.

"Can you show me?" Nick asked Scarlett. "Sure!" she replied.

They walked over to a forest looking area with a boy also in it. " Hi Scarlett." He said. "Who is this?

" This is umm." Scarlett said trailing off. "Nick." Nick said.

"Are you all allies?" He said. "Yeah!" Scarlett and Nick said at the same time. "Can I join your little team?" The boy asked. "Sure, the more the merrier." Nick said.

"Anyway, his name Jacob." Scarlett said. "He is also from my district." 

"So can you show me the trap now?" Nick asked. "Okay, all you have to do is  apply...... " Scarlett said and showed him the trap until it was time to leave.

When Nick woke up he felt a cramp in his insides, tomorrow was the Hunger Games. He had to win it for his family his little brother, Maggs, his mom and everyone else. 

"Would all tributes please come down to the training rooms" A loud intercom announced.

 Nick walked down to the room were a man told him to come into a room. Everyone else was already in the room. He looked around to see the people that he  knew already.

Nick wanted to know the rest of the tributes, but then they announced his name over the intercom. Nick walked into the room and many people were watching in a platform above him. Nick grabbed a trident and swung it multiple times at a target.

They told him to leave and he reported back to his room were he curled up into a ball and slept the rest of the day and night.

Nick woke up hungry and thirsty, he woke up and went to the dining room when Louise called him over to see the scores, he just got there when he announced Jacob's.

Then the screen shut off. "It's time" Louise said to Nick and Lillian.

Nick was breathing heavily and was freaking out when they put the tracker in him, there wasn't just people trying to kill him also genetically modified animals, diseases and many other dangerous things.

After a long wait they landed and Nick was escorted to a room which carl was in." It's going to be all right, you have got to do this." He said. "Is this what you tell all the tributes if they die? Nick asked. He didn't reply.

Thirty to enter the pod. away from him.

"I guess I should go now." Nick said as he entered the pod.

Fifteen seconds to enter the pod

 All of a sudden the pod slid up and everything around him went silent, the pod started to move up and up until he was surrounded by a sandy, desert area, there were broken down buildings surrounding the area, he looked around only to spot a cornucopia with all sorts of goodies in it.

Sixty seconds till the Hunger Games Begin

Nick looked around fear in his eyes. He could see the same in all the other tributes.

Thirty seconds till the Hunger Games begin. 

Nick looked around for Scarlett and Jacob, he could only see Jacob who was three peta stools away from him.

Fifteen seconds till the Hunger Games begin.

Nick took the last breath he might take and closed his eyes.

Let the Fifth annual hunger games begin!

Nick jumped off his peta stools and grabbed a spear, a backpack and a can of water. He looked back and saw the district nine boy fall to the ground and get stabbed by David, then he saw Ethan the one from district four get sliced by district the district two girl. While she finished up Ethan, Moonstone the girl from district four chopped off the district two girls head, then doing the same to the district nine girl.Scarlett and Jacob grabbed him and told him to run. they ran for a long time till they reached a small looking hut. Then they went in it to sort their supplies.

"I have a three bottles of water and a pocket knife." Jacob said and dropped his stuff on the ground. "Good." Nick said. "I brought a canister of water, a spear and a book bag that has three bags of chips, a bag of apples, two water bottles, a towel and a tarp." Nick said also putting his stuff in the middle. "I brought two knives, another bag of apples, and a pack of water bottles." That's good!" Nick said.

"But we need to save food and water." Jacob said. "It will last us about five to eight days." Scarlett said. "That means we will mostly likely have to forage for some of the food."

All of a sudden loud music started to blare out, then the district two sign came into view. It was a girl, then district four came up with Ethan's face on it. A district six sign came up with Django's face on it. Next was District Eight it showed both boy and girl, it was the same with District Nine. Then District Ten it showed Conner. Then it went off, and everything was black.

Scarlett suggested that we each have an apple. "That sounds good since we have so many of them." Jacob explained.

"There were seven people killed in one day!" Nick said , out of the blue.

"Yea..." Jacob started to say, but a cannon went off and a District Eleven sign came up, it was a young looking boy, maybe eleven or twelve.

"Well that's a third of the tributes dead." Jacob said.

"Yeah." Nick mumbled. "We have better get some sleep we'll need it for tomorrow, to set traps." Scarlett said.

Nick woke up to a scream, a cannon then some laughter. It was the Careers.  

"We have got to go NOW!" Nick said to Jacob and Scarlett. They woke up and without hesitation, and grabbed their weapons and food. "The careers are here!" He whispered, they slowly got out of the hut and started running.

"There they are!" One of the Careers screamed.

They chased after them eventually catching up, then David slashed Jacob, a cannon sounded, Scarlett started to cry. Nick knew it was no or never so he grabbed his spear and flung it at one of the careers. It stabbed John Thomas and he fell to the ground dead, Kiera and David quickly ran away. Then a cannon blasted.

Scarlett set some traps, and another cannon went off. Soon the music started again and showed.

District One~John Thomas

District Twelve~Jack.

That left Kiera, David, Scarlett, Moonstone, Nick, Lillian, Avery, Nolan, Alora, Kathy, Mckenna. Eleven people, had really come down to this!

"I am sorry about Jacob." Nick said feeling bad for Scarlett. "It was going to happen any way, we need to get some sleep though." Scarlett suggested then they fell into a deep sleep.

Nick woke up to a bloody Nolan who was crying. "AHH!" Nick screamed. This woke up Scarlett, she grabbed a knife and stabbed Nolan repeatedly. "Thank you." He said. then a cannon went off.

Scarlett and Nick grabbed all of there stuff and went outside, there Lillian was, trapped in one of Scarlett's traps. "Oh, No." Lillian said, her eyes widening with fear. "We'll let you g this one time. But we will kill you next time." Nick said. He slashed the rope and she fell to the ground. "Thank you."Lillian said as she ran off into the distance.

Then another scream and TWO cannons went off. Scarlett ran over to her other trap to see Kiera impaled by needles. Also Kathy was stabbed repeatedly by David who ran off after Lillian. Then everything went black.

When Nick woke up he was with Scarlett. "What happened." Nick asked.

"Mckenna shot you with a bow and arrow." Scarlett said.

"How long have I been out?" Nick asked. "  

"Three days." Scarlett said. "Who is left?" Nick asked.

"David, Me, Moonstone, You, Lillian, Alora and Mckenna." Scarlett replied.

"Seven people." Nick said. then something busted the door open, it was Moonstone and Alora. Alora threw a knife and Scarlett but she dodged it. Nick grabbed a knife and stabbed Alora, a cannon went off.Moonstone ran off before Nick and Scarlett could do anything.

"Sorry but there are only six left." Scarlett said, she raised a knife at Nick. Nick reacted fast he grabbed a jug of water, a knife and apples and ran off.

Nick was so shocked on what had happened, he grabbed a water bottle and drank some of it. then an arrow flung past Nick, he grabbed his knife and looked around. There Mckenna was she shot another arrow knocking it out of his hand. Mckenna aimed the next arrow at Nick but then she spit out blood and fell to the ground. A cannon sounded.

Behind Mckenna was Lillian. "Only this one time." Lillian said and she ran off.

The sign came up with Alora and Mckenna on it, and two days passed. No one died.

Then Scarlett came out of nowhere charging at him. He quickly ran away but then noticed she wasn't after him but David. She threw a knife at him but it missed. David still fumbled back, then he fell into a hole. "Bye-Bye" Scarlett said and threw a knife at him. A cannon went off.

Soon a sign popped up saying to head to the cornucopia because of the finale. Nick started running with his knife. They all met in the middle but something was off. Then something grabbed Moonstone from the ground and yanked her beneath the sand. A cannon went off.

Everyone went on top of the cornucopia. "I have prepared for this!" Scarlett laughed. then a boom went off. Lillian and Nick went flying to the ground. "So sorry!" Scarlett laughed.

"Avenge me." Lillian said, then she closed her eyes. A cannon went off. 

"Your nex...." Scarlett started to say but she fell off the cornucopia and into a Dust monster looking thing.

She screamed on the top of her lungs, but it snapped her in half. 

Nick closed his eyes.

                                                            *__*

Nick woke up in the hospital, his family all around him, kissing him, hugging him. "We love you." Nick's mom said.
