"Hurry up and get those streamers up!" Alice yelled, looking at the progress they had made so far. "And don't forget the candles on that cake!"

     Today was Claire's 16th birthday, whom just so happened to be Alice's best friend. She was determined to make this be perfect.

     Suddenly a car door slammed shut and everyone scrambled to hide, thus forgetting to turn out the lights. Alice jumped to turn them off and was hit by the opening door, making her fall to the ground with a thud.

     Claire took a step back before looking at everything they had done, and started laughing when she saw Alice on the floor.

     "What's so funny?" Alice asks with a small groan as she starts to stand up.

     "Oh nothing... it's just that my birthday isn't for another week!"
