Mama's War (Hetalia)

Gaia sat in her music room, playing an old song that seemed to have been lost with time. She looked like she was trying to stay calm. She was going through a list of all her children and what she knew calmed them down. Right now she was trying Roderich's way. It wasn't working. None of it was working.

She started to play faster, her eyes shut tight. She kept seeing awful visions of men dying in a war. A war that was England, France, Russia, China, and America against Germany, Italy, Japan, Austria, Hungry, and Prussia. It was also known has World War Two. She couldn't stop seeing what was going on in this war, her own children suffering.

They were starving. They were in pain. They wanted this war to be over. They wanted to just be with their family and forget any of these wars happened. They wanted things to go back to the way they used to be. Yet they didn't know. None of them knew what was going to come next was worse than what they were going with now.

All she could see was the pain. The pain of a whole family split because of being on the Axis side. A German falling to his knees and crying because he just found out that his country had killed and tortured a whole religion. A happy couple being tortured and beat every day for keeping a man safe. A war between two friends. It was an awful thing to see. It was worse than the war going on now. It would be over soon. Finished with an awful act. A bomb. She could see a bomb. So much pain would be brought on by that bomb. And the one would dropped it would forever feel guilty for it. And the one it was dropped one would forever feel after effects on it.

"NO!" Gaia yelled, slamming her palms onto the keys of the old piano. It made an ugly sound when hit.

Gaia took a deep breath, tears running down her face. She quickly stood up and walked to the window, looking out onto the island she lived on. How could this happen? She asked herself. When she first made men, she never thought they would hurt her this way. Her body started to shack has more tears ran down her face. It was too much. Maybe she should end this war right then. She had the power. Yet it wouldn't be better than if she let it keep going. All her children that was Europe would be dead. She couldn't let that happen.

She couldn't find a way to make the future better. She couldn't save her children from so much pain. She just couldn't...

"Mama?" a voice asked from the doorway. She turned around to see her children looking at her. The one who had spoken up was William, standing beside his father. She quickly wiped her eyes, walking over to them.

"I-I was just thinking about something awful," she told them, faking a smile. "I'm fine. Go back to what you were all doing. I need to take a nap or something. I need to rest."

Without another word, she walked off, wanting to leave her thoughts, her visions, her planet behind. She just wanted to see her little ones happy.

Yet it didn't seem like that was possible anytime soon.
