Sunset

She nestled in closer to my shoulder with a sigh. "It's so beautiful out here."

"And wherever you are," I breathed, stroking her soft brown hair as we stared across the sparkling expanse of water in front of us.

Brea smiled over her shoulder at me. I hugged her tightly and we leaned together for a long, tender kiss. She fingered my spine asI player with her hair, but our lips never parted.

When she drew back, we went back to watching the sunset. We were sitting on a hill with her in my lap. In front of us spanned a massive lake, with our homes on the other side. The sky was painted shades of gold and amber and rose, occasionally disturbed by a drifting cloud. The bright, glowing sun was sinking below the treeline in the distance, and the moon was a thin sliver in the sky.

A few geese swam along the surface of the leg, a few regarding us with confused head tilts. Brea chuckled as a gosling waddled towards us in it webbed feet that were much to large for its body. She stroked its head gently, then patted its wing and sent it squawking back to its mother.

We both laughed and snuggled closer. "I love you, James," I heard her whisper tenderly.

I sighed, laying back in the soft grass. She fell backwards with me, holding me hand. "I love you too, Brea."
