Exotic short story

Reflections of the sunset orange sky bounced on the still Sea of Nassau. In the distance there was a ship which was quickly moving towards the quayside. As if by magic a steel band started playing to welcome the ship. You could see the name but all I could see- even when I squinted - was the word "Tórshavn" - whatever that meant. All of the locals sprinted out of their houses after hearing the loud horn. Everyone around me started muttering "book ship."

Bright red flowers instantly sprouted next to me; the ship must've brought them out of hibernation. They sprouted everywhere just like at the beginning of spring. Heart racing, I started sprinted towards the end of the quayside, put my snorkelling mask on and dived into the ocean blue.

I dived even further and grabbed my monofin from behind the big rock. Fish of many colours swam passed me. Schools of fish circled around me - they probably thought I was a dolphin. 

Nassau wasn't always this beautiful; in winter it was only 20°C. When I reached the shore I looked up at my beach house. I took off my snorkelling kit and my monofin. 

With a flick of my wrist the door opened. I casually walked in grabbed a towel and stripped off my wet shorts and T-shirt, put on a long top and climbed into my hammock.

Beep, beep! I turned off my alarm clock and climbed out of my hammock. I slowly walk over to the sink. The water spurted in my face as I tried to hold back my tangled locks. I tied my hair up as I stared into my brown pools in the mirror. I put on sun cream, my undergarments and my running gear.

I ran outside and locked the door behind me. Light from the burning sun shone against my sunglasses. Small ripples glided across the water, a shadow suddenly covered the sky; an eclipse...
