Skeletons

I walked towards the castle that stood before me. The castle had tall spikes that touched the clouds and beyond. The spikes circled around, making a circular building with black spikes. The stair way up to the castle was long and curly. Birds fluttered above my heads and sang in joy that their queen had returned home. The sea travelled along the beach and then went back again like it was too terrifying to go any further. For some, it was. I started to walk, my long black cape brushing the sand as I walked. I finally reached the steps and started to walk up them. My heels made clicking noises as I walked and soon I could no longer hide my smile. I was so happy to be home. To see the castle I was born in, to see the view at the top and to look down onto my kingdom. After many flights of stairs, I looked down at my kingdom and saw that it hadn't changed at all. The buildings were all still standing and were still very small. The path stones were still in place and ready to be walked on again. The farms were starting to rot away and disappear after no use for several of years. It was like a peaceful village, but it wasn't. From the outside of those houses, it looked like a lovely place to live, but inside, you can see the skeletons piling up from the previous owners. I put that dreadful though out of my mind and turned around to look at the door in front of me. It was tall, heavy and was wood that had little planks of wood missing. This was because of the previous battle that made me lose my home and flee somewhere else that was safe from those monsters. I placed my hands on the door and all the memories (happy and sad) came flooding back into my mind. With all of my strength, I pushed the door open.

Walking inside, I could see the skeletons from the battle that happened years ago all around the sides of the kingdom. The only light in the room was the one coming from the windows. Then, I stood still and stared at what was in front of me. The throne. The throne was also a dark black colour, but had silver from the fallen soldiers swords embedded in it. It was very large. I stood over it and placed my arm on throne. It was colder than I remember, but it still gave me a sense of warmth. I sat down and looked in front of me to see my people that travelled with me swarm into the hall. My advisors were there and they were the people that I trusted the most in this world, there were the leader of my two powerful and large armies and my friend. Her name was Mali and she supported me and has been with me since day one. I sat in front of them like the queen that was meant to rule. I had everything, but the people and I knew how to get them. I looked to my sides and saw more skeletons. The screams of those people still haunted me to this day. I also knew that I would be having a lot more of the skeletons when I get my people back the monsters that call themselves humans.  I looked at my hand and the skin started to peal off until my hand was only bone. I reached to touch my face and I could feel that the same had happened to my face. The sun was going down and my to form was starting to be revealed. The reason I knew that I was going to win every war and battle I was in was because... I was already dead.
