Dragons

Margery got pushed into a dark room. The only thing that was giving the room light was the burning torch in her hands. The person from behind her started to walk away, but just before the door closed on her again, the person said, "I haven't fed them for a while." With that, the door slammed shut and Margery was left all alone in the cold. Or so she thought! She started to walk down the steps and around the empty space. The room was very big and seemed like it was endless. Her footsteps echoed throughout the hall. The walls around her were a grey colour and the floor and ceiling were the same. Although, the floor in front of her was beginning to turn a different colour. Red. Why was the floor beginning to turn red? Her feet began to get covered in it and started to get wet. This was no ordinary colour of red, but instead it was... blood! Margery stood, frozen. From in front of her in the darkness, she could hear a growling noise. Then, the blood in front of her lit alight. She stumbled backwards onto the floor and what she saw next was nothing she had ever seen before. She thought that it was all a lie, a rumour, but she was so so very wrong. Instead the rumours about the dragons under the kingdom were true and, they were alive!

The dragon in front of her was humongous. It had red scales covering its body from head to tail. It nearly touched the ceiling and whenever it did, rocks and bricks came tumbling down. The dragon had a chain wrapped around its neck stopping it from moving too close to the door. Margery stayed where she was on the floor and just carried on staring at this magnificent beast in terror. Its tail was wrapped around its feet and the dragon's claw dug into the floor making screeching noises when it did so. The dragon stood proudly and confidently, showing no fear it opened its mouth. The teeth were bigger than a sharks and anyone teeth you have probably seen. Saliva dripped onto the floor and made a dripping and splashing noise. Its tongue was long and thin, licking its lips and showing that the creature was hungry. The dragons eyes were a peaceful green colour that looked innocent, but of course, the beast wasn't. Suddenly, chains started to rattled and another dragon appeared from behind the flames.

This one breathed fire straight away and nearly touched Margery's feet just so it could strike fear into her heart. It did. The dragon looked the same to the other one. It was the same height and still had the same sharp teeth. The only difference was that this one was a grey colour and had fiery red eyes instead of green. The second one seemed more fierce and deadly than the first. Margery knew what was coming and you could see the fear in her eyes. Her hands began to shake as she said one last prier to the gods. As quick as a flash, both dragons breathed so quickly, she didn't even have chance to scream.
