Innocent

My first scary story! Yay! I love writing these so much! (If you know me on Quotev, you will know that this story is found there. Don't worry, Flower will soon follow. Also a blood warning is in order here so if you are sensitive to blood, please avoid this story (and most of my scary stoies.). Last thing, the picture is made by weave silk. You can make your own at weavesilk.com, why did I do that just read the story already.

The little girl padded softly down the hallway. She was listening for a certain sentence. Finally, behind closed oak doors, she did. " Did you hear.....Mayor's daughter....found with cut wrists in river?" Hearing this, the girl giggled and raced to her room, where she took off her frilly dress. Originally white, it was now a light pink, dripping wet, and green from grass stains. Some bows were ripped off or hanging by a thread. Taking the dress, she threw it on the fire, and changed into a dress that was identical to the one she had just burned. Then she slipped out, in search of her next victim. After a few minutes, she came upon the governor's daughter, Mary. Putting on her best innocent smile, she approached Mary, saying, "My family is going to the river, but I lost my way, and they've left me behind. Can you lead me to the river?" Mary, who had a lot of compassion, instantly agreed, and if she had any moment of doubt, she squandered it. Maybe she shouldn't have done this, but what harm could the small girl do? When they got to the riverbank, the girl's innocent facade fell away, revealing her maniacal grin. "Mommy and Daddy are in the river," she giggled. "And they want you to join them!" Mary opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out. The small girl cut Mary's wrist, then dragged her into the river. Mary felt the cold of the river as she sank, struggling to breath and blood billowing around her. She never resurfaced. The little girl giggled watching Mary drown, before sneaking back home.

The next day headlines blared poor Mary's death. The little girl came to the funeral, dressed in a black dress. No one gave her a second glance, only to pat her head, give her a hug, or say something about how she was too young to understand.

The townspeople found her dead months after she started killing. She was found to have drowned in the river and was buried in haste by the riverside. They say that if you travel along a river at night, she will come to you, dressed in a white dress and looking like an innocent child. But beware, for once you take her hand to lead her to the river, you are as good as dead. She will cut your wrist, then throw you in, making you another of her many, many victims. No one knows how many people she has killed,  excluding herself and her victims. After all, how could one so innocent be such a monster?

That was my first scary story! Tell me what you think in the comments below. See you in the next story!
