This short story may become a novel of it's own if enough people like it. So for now here is Foxy, a little maybe trailer for a maybe novel.

I blinked my eyes in confusion. 'Why were they all staring?' I thought. I didn't think I was any different from the rest of them, not anymore. Yesterday I had had no wolf. Now I did, although it was a bit unusual. My ears were carrot orange, the same shade as my hair, and my tail was long, bushy, also carrot orange and had a white tip.

"Pardon me, miss." A voice said from behind me. "I think you are the missing link."

I looked around at where the voice had come from. "What are you talking about?"

Before he could answer, Nicholas Fresno, the Alpha's son, swept me away in a dance.

"Hello dear, what is your pretty name?" He asked. I couldn't help but cringe at the way he said it. And for your knowledge, my name was not pretty, instead I think it's more masculine than anything. It's rough sounding and just...doesn't flow very easily. But I can't refuse the alpha.

"My name is Akila Goodnight," I told him. The dance soon ended and I scurried off, glad to be away from the alpha. So I ran outside, where I found an adorable little fox looking at me with surprisingly human intelligence. Then, as if in slow motion, it stood on its haunches and slowly turned into a boy, small and slim, like me, with vibrant green eyes.

"Another fox?" The boy asked. He was around my age, 16 and had the same ear and tail combo I did but with a darker shade of orange.

"What do you mean?" I asked. "Who are you?"

The boy looked me in the eyes. He seemed a little hurt that I didn't recall him.

"Don't you remember me? I'm Felix, the little fox you raised when you were little."

I gasped. "Felix? So you were a werefox this whole time?"

He only nodded in response.

"Now Akila, we have to get away from here. Now that they know you know what you are, they will not stop till they hunt you down." And with that, the both of us turned tail and ran off into the forest, the only place we could live in true concealment.
