It was beginning to be a normal day in university, I had just started my third year and things were going well. I was not what you would call popular - in fact, more of the stereotypical nerd when you first get to know me. Although I may be a "nerd" people suspect that I am in full control of my life or that I already have my life planned out, that could actually be some of the furthest things from the truth. I was not at all prepared for that day when these three men came up to me when I was walking to my next class, one had short blond hair with green eyes, the other had auburn hair with blue eyes. "Do you have time to talk to us?" the first man asked boring his eyes into my soul almost looking for an answer before I could respond. I looked down at my semi-cracked watch and saw that I did indeed have time, "Sure, what do you want to talk about?" I asked hesitantly, "We would like you to participate in an experiment" "What kind?" "We are not allowed to share the details but if you do the experiment then you will have all of your student loans paid for," the second man said as he stepped into the conversation as if he sensed the other man was being threatened by my composure. "Sure, but when will we know the details of the experiment"

         "When you arrive" the first one stepped in feeling like he was being overpowered, "When does the experiment take place?" I asked, "On October 30th". I shook their hands and walked away back to my class. I started actually marking the days down on the calendar that I bought last week to count the days until the experiment. I was itching with curiosity and impatience.

The night before I was ordered to go to the experiment I couldn't sleep, I couldn't decide whether I was excited or nervous, guess it didn't matter because by the time I decided it was just me being nervous it was already time to wake up and go to my ordered location. It was nine a.m. when I finally got to the stop where I saw two other people-one with sandy blonde long hair and a man with reddish-brown hair and was your typical high school quarterback turned wide receiver that is not happy about it kind of guy. We were told not to talk to each other or give away any personal information that would somehow reveal our identity or where we live, after that instruction we were pushed onto a silver school bus and lead down into town then behind the tree line that bordered the town, then on to a dirt road that looked like it was used frequently but also abandoned. It had been three hours since we got onto the road when I saw a house surrounded by a long ring that was at least a foot thick.

          "Do not step on the ring please" a man in a white coat declared as he got a running jump and leaped over the silver ring. While we were walking towards the house I noticed that the house had a black exterior and a white interior, in this day and age that was not an odd color choice but it still worried me. The house looked as if it was a family home and that we would walk inside and see a random family huddled around a T.V that was broadcasting any recent events such as the cold war or the national embarkment of our 600th government shutdown. When we walked into the room we only saw a table, chairs, and two small bookshelves that didn't have any books on them as they had been banned three years ago and only permitted textbooks and specific encyclopedias. I sat down in one of the chairs immediately noticing how the cussion seemed to be made of hard plastic are stained wood that didn't have enough time to cure as the stain came off on to my hand very easily. One of the men sat down next to me as he let out a big sigh before tapping his finger on my shoulder looking to get my attention I turned around as his gaze met mine before he could open his mouth the man that led us here started speaking, "Before we start I would like to give you all a fair warning: The following experiment has only worked on animals and since they can't give us direct feedback yet we won't know what will happen to your body as it is being performed. All we know is that you will come out alive." He stated as everyone gave worrying looks around the room, “Any questions?” “What will we get out of this?” the one with sandy blinde hair asked, “Your full tuition is going to be paid for and you will get to be apart of the first Government authourized experiment of this and you will be apart of history” the man finished as we all looked at him with glints of curiosity and excitement. The man with reddish-brown hair spoke up. He said “So since you did say that you have done this experiment before I am assuming that you did it illegaly the last few times that you did it you did it without Government permission. If we decide to leave then what will you do? we have all this information about experiments and such, can’t we just turn you in?” the man finished as the scientist grew a smile on his face-no it wasn’t a smile more like a, a sinister grin. “You don’t know what this experiment is or what we can do to you if you tell” “Well what will you do?” the same man asked “We have some lawyers that will keep your mouth shut and if you try to someone what we do, how can I tell you this? No one will believe you” “W-what do you mean” the boy asked stuttering “Time travel” everyone gave a chuckle around the room trying to cut the awkwardness in half.

          "While I do appreciate being here, I would like more of an explanation of what in the actual fuck is going on" (watch your profanity) "Well in this experiment we are going to be sending you flying through time and hopefully have a succesful experiment so we can get more funding" 'Alright' I said to myself 'lets get a fucking move on. I was hired to do something so I am planning on doing it' "Since this is time travel I am going to have to explain the rules:" The man in the white lab coat said as he looked at me "No exiting the room after we have started the experiment, DO NOT try to communicate with any other life forms that you may see, do not go insane" after he explained that he quickly left the room and tightly shut the door and walked up to the control center. Waiting for the machine to start I suddenly see a flash of light enter our tiny window as I am rembering what to do next.
