Story 4: Road Trip (Victim)
You yawn, walking down the side of the busy road. It's nighttime, but this town never slept. Or, so it seemed.
You were just walking back home from a bar, your vision fuzzy and your steps stumbling. You let out a burp from the 5 beers you had, followed by another yawn.
You were absolutely drunk, but smart enough to know not to drive in this state.
Your cold hands were stuffed in your pockets and your neck shrunk, to keep your head as close to your body as possible. You breath out, a puff of vapor showing you that it was below freezing.
"I should've brought a fucking coat..." You mumble under your breath, but it was too late. All you managed to put on was jacket, but you didn't know it would get this cold.
Cars zip by you, some honking at you cause you've accidentally stumbled into the lane. Soon, you start to go completely numb, not knowing where your walking anymore.
Your eyelids start to falter, your feet doing their own thing now, sleep wasn't very far from grasping you completely.
Your house was only a couple more blocks away, but you can't even tell. You try to stay as awake as possible, untill...
You had strayed to far into the lane, the car came rushing for you at 40mph, the right headlight out, so they couldn't see you.
The screeching of tires scared you fully awake now as you don't even have time to turn around.
The machine hits you, your body being flown forward about 20 feet, and rolled an extra 5, in front of the now stopped car.
Your now lifeless body lied on the pavement as passenger the door of the car opened. Sobbing, a female runs up to you, checking for your pulse, but nothing was there.
A male jumped out of the driver seat as he ran to the other, grasping her arm.
"Linda, we have to go, NOW! I can't get caught, remember!" He tells the female, and she sobs, shaking her head. His expression grew angry as he drug her back to the car, tears still streaming down her face.
Both doors slam shut as the luggage filled van spend away.
