•Twenty-Five
His lips touch your cheek softly like an angel's kiss. His lips linger for a moment on your skin before he quickly pulls away. He yanks his hand out of yours and looks away.
You flutter your eyes open feeling speechless. You felt dizzy after such a surprising action. You slowly bring your hand to your cheek. You could still feel his warm lips pressed against your skin.
Your heart thunders in your chest and your mind was blank. You didn't know what to think, you were too shocked.
"J-Jungkook--" "I'm sorry," he blurts out. "I shouldn't have done that." His head was still turned away.
You notice that he clasped his hands together tightly to stop his shaking. You knew how nervous he always gets when he was doing something out of the ordinary.
Your heart aches for him and a sad smile appears on your face.
You place a hand on his shoulder causing him to jump at the touch.
"Hey, don't apologize. I'm not mad." You try to assure your friend.
You actually felt proud of him for actually gaining that much courage to do that. But there was one question lingering on your mind. Why did he do it?
Jungkook takes in a breath and lets it out. He slowly glances at you and you see his cheeks were the reddest they ever been.
You couldn't help but smile and force him to turn around completely. "I swear, Jungkook I don't how you can always look so adorable when you get embarrassed." You say in a scolding manner.
He doesn't answer and averts his gaze from yours. He didn't know what came over him. He actually kissed your cheek and that surprised him.
He only feared your reaction, he hopes you weren't going to be upset. He bites the inside of his cheek racking his brain for something to say.
You beat him to it. "Jungkook, you're acting as if that this was a big deal," you tease slightly. "It was just a friendly kiss on the cheek."
His eyes widen, a friendly kiss?
Is that how you saw it? You saw him gaining all his courage that he had to just be friendly? A frown forms on Jungkook's lips with his eyes narrowing.
"A friendly kiss?" He repeats.
You nod, "Yeah, that's all it was. So, you don't have to be embarrassed."
He clenches his hands into fists as he glares at the food on the table. He got you food, you said he was sweet for thinking of you, he kissed your cheek.
How could any of that be friendly?
What more did he have to do to show his love for you?
He abruptly gets up and stomps out of the room. "I have to go." He states.
Confused you quickly follow him. "Jungkook, wait," you say. He stops in the entryway to place on his shoes.
"Why are you leaving?" You ask with a pout. He doesn't answer and grasps the doorknob.
You wait for an answer with your hands down at your sides. You stare at his back hoping that he would turn around and look at you. He lets out a small sigh with his head dropping slightly.
"I'm sorry for intruding," he mumbles. He opens the door and leaves, closing it behind him. You stare at the door for a moment longer before dragging your feet back into the living room.
You plop down on the couch with a tired sigh. You wonder why he left and why his demeanor suddenly felt cold and closed off. Did you say something stupid?
You remember your words and shake your head. All you said was that he was cute when embarrassed and that it was a friendly kiss. You simply just repeated what Taehyung told you.
You look at the fried chicken on your table. You wish he hadn't had to leave. You hoped that he was kidding and would stay longer with you. You lay on your back and stare at the ceiling.
His kiss was still fresh on your mind and you frown at the thought. You didn't mind what he did but you hated the way it made you feel. You hated that your heart thundered in your chest and having a tingly feeling surge through your veins. It was weird and unknown to you, you didn't like it.
"Stupid, Jungkook. Making me feel things that are weird," you grumble.

You quickly push open the glass doors and rush inside. You greeted with red velvet carpet and black leather seats. The lights were slightly dim with a big, gold chandelier cascaded light above you.
You look around with a sniff. Did you come to the right place? It was too fancy for your liking.
A young woman approaches you, she was wearing a white button-up shirt, a red vest, and a black pencil skirt. She offers you a kind smile with her hands clasped in front of her professionally.
"May I help you? Do you want a table?" She asks. You got here a bit late, you're sure they're already here.
"Actually, I'm looking for a table? It might probably be under the name Park Jimin." You say.
She nods, "Ah, so you're the one they're waiting for. Follow me please." She leads you further into the restaurant.
The sounds of utensils clattering against the China plates were all around you. People chattered here and there or were simply on their phones.
You couldn't help but judge them, what was the point of going out if you weren't going talk?
"You're late!"
You turn to see the woman standing by an entryway to a small private room. The guys sat inside looking at you with all smiles. You give the woman your thanks before heading in. Jimin shakes his head in disappointment.
"I knew you would be late, Jisun. I should've just picked you up."
You roll your eyes, "At least I'm here. I could've stayed home, you know." Jimin sticks out his tongue and you do the same.
You sit in a chair between Jimin and Jungkook. He doesn't spare you a glance making your chest ache a little. Nevertheless, you still tried to say hi.
"Hey, Kooks. What are you doing?" He was busy on his phone scanning through something. You look over his shoulder but he simply turns away.
"Nothing," he mumbles. Your smile fractures a bit and you pull away.
You laugh awkwardly, "Right. Anyway, what's for dinner?" You turn your attention back to the others who didn't seem to notice Jungkook's coldness.
"Hm, I was thinking about getting some salmon," Hoseok smiles happily as he scans through his menu. You open yours and gasp.
"Oh my god, why so much?!"
"What are you talking about?" Jimin questions with a look.
"The price!" You exclaim. "It's too expensive!"
Everyone blinks before laughing lightly. You look at them in confusion. "What? I'm serious! We should've just went to a fast-food restaurant or something," you say.
"As much as I agree with you on the fast food thing, the price isn't a big deal," Jin says with a smile.
"Why?"
Yoongi gestures to Jimin. "He's paying for the whole dinner." You look at your brother in surprise. "You're paying?"
"Yeah," he answers.
"With what money?"
You hear Namjoon choke on his wine and Hoseok and Yoongi snicker lightly. Jimin's face heats up.
"I'll have you know that I have enough money for dinner thank you very much! I'm not poor," he states with a glare. You look back at your menu with a snort.
"Well if that's the case. . .I'll just order a rack of lamb."
Jimin's eyes widen, "A rack of lamb?! But that's really expensive!" He exclaims.
"Hey, you said that you could afford dinner," you shoot back with a shrug. "If you're not poor then you can easily pay for lamb, right?"
Yoongi smirks, "She got you."
Jimin glares at you bit longer before grabbing his glass of wine. "I'll be poor because of you," he grumbles. You smile victoriously and place down your menu.
"What's the big occasion?" You ask. Jin shrugs still looking at his menu. "Dunno, Jimin just decided to take us out."
"Too bad Taehyung couldn't come," Hoseok pouts. You nod in agreement, you hadn't seen in a few days and you started to miss him. You wish his company could let him get off work at a decent time.
You glance back at Jungkook. He didn't answer your text last night nor your call earlier today. You could've gone to his apartment but you didn't want to upset him more.
You poke his bicep, "What's wrong?" You made sure your voice was soft so none of the guys could hear. He doesn't answer once more and continues to scan through his phone.
"Jungkook," you whine. "Why won't you talk to me? Are you mad at me?"
Jungkook kept his mouth shut and pretends he doesn't hear you. You stare at him a bit longer before giving up and turning away. You look down at your utensils and an empty plate.
You were so confused. Why was he giving you the silent treatment all of a sudden? You know you didn't do anything to him so you couldn't comprehend why he was acting such a way.
Dinner wasn't as fun as you thought it would be. Although everyone was talking and laughing here or there you couldn't bring yourself to join in.
The awkward tension was growing between you and Jungkook and each second was driving you mad. Jungkook focused solely on his food not once looking up. You notice Jin getting up and walking out of the room.
You quickly do the same and rush out of the room. You follow him and stop him before he could reach the restroom.
"Jin!" You call.
He stops and glances behind with a raised brow. "Yeah?" "I need to talk to you," you inform.
Jin lets out a groan, "Can't this wait? I drank way too much wine if you must know."
"Please, it's important," you tell him with a frown. He stares at you while contemplating. He lets go of the door handle and sighs.
"Fine, but make it quick."
\/\/\/
"So, he's ignoring you now?" Jin repeats. You nod, "Yes, and I don't know why." Jin puts a hand under chin in a thinking manner.
"But he kissed you on the cheek though." "Exactly!" You exclaim. "That's why I'm so confused." Jin thinks harder and knits his brows together.
"He said that he was in love with a different girl, though." Jin points out. "Wouldn't that mean it was a friendly one?"
You sigh, "That's what I told him and after that, he got up and left."
Jin nods and ponders, it was odd for anyone to act such a way. It was even more odd when it came to you and Jungkook. You both barely fought and when you do it was over something reasonable.
But for Jungkook to kiss you on the cheek out of nowhere. You say it was friendly but Jin wonders if that was true. And didn't he admit he was in love with a girl? Why would he do this behind her back?
"I'll talk to him, okay? Just be patient, he'll come around." Jin assures. You frown but nod nevertheless. You knew Jin would get to the bottom of it.
"Why did you tell me by the way? Why didn't you tell Jimin instead?" Jin asks.
You shrug, "I figured that you're more reasonable to talk to about this. If I told him then he'll get angry and act irrationally like always."
Jin nods in understatement, "Well, I need to pee right now so you go on back." Jin tells you before rushing into the restroom. You sigh and do as you were told.
As you reenter the room you see the guys looking at Jimin in surprise. "No way," Hoseok breathes. "You're serious?" Jimin smiles proudly with his arms crossed.
"Yeah, I can take you guys to our house in Wanju, Hanok village."
