It may be well past midnight but Jungkook couldn't get a wink of sleep. No matter how much sheep he had counted or how much blankets he placed on himself he just couldn't sleep. He tosses and turns in the dark.

He was exhausted and in dire need of sleep but his eyes just won't close. His mind was still heavy with thoughts and he began to get annoyed. He turns on his backside and rubs his hair vigorously.

"Just get out of my head already!" He whines as he kicks off the blankets like a child. He left Seojun hours before and brushed off his words with no care.

So why? Why were his words ringing in his head like a bell?

"I'm just going to see if Jisun has feelings for me, that's all. And if she does then. . .well you know what'll happen."

"If you say something then maybe I won't make a move."

What the hell was he planning? Why would he say that? Jungkook glares at his ceiling like it was a mortal enemy.

Seojun was his best friend since high school. He was his only true friend who was the same age as him. They respected each other, loved each other like brothers.

Jungkook would never cross a line that'll cause a rift between the two of them. He thought Seojun thought the same, but apparently not. How can he like you? Why you?

It irritated him knowing there are two guys have an interest in you. It was Taehyung and now Seojun. Both handsome and charismatic. Both were absolute chick magnets.

It was true that he told Seojun that he has no feelings for you but still. Shouldn't that line of respect not be crossed? God, he sounded like a selfish child. It annoyed him.

You weren't an object but he feels as though he was treating you like one. He doesn't have a right to be mad at those who like you. And he shouldn't be mad at you for possibly liking them too.

But with all that in his mind, it still irritated him. He groans and rolls out of bed. He trudges out of the room and to the entryway.

Maybe if he walks once more, his mind might be cleared. He slipes on his slides and shrugs on a sweater. He exits his apartment and starts his walk to the elevator.

But he didn't even take two steps and feels his feet rooted to the floor. He looks to his right and sees your front door. A frown becomes evident on his rosy lips.

Were you upset that he left so suddenly at the cafe hours earlier? Were you mad at him? Maybe he had overreacted or maybe he didn't.

After all, you didn't answer him if you would like him back if he hypothetically liked you. It was a simple question that probably didn't mean much to you. But to him, your answer was everything.

His heart was beating anxiously as he awaited your answer. The way his palms got sweaty in hopes that you might say yes. But when he realized that your silence was your answer it angered him.

How could he be such an idiot? Multiple times he kept wishing you'll return his feelings or notice him the way he notices you. Multiple times he became disappointed in himself and got his heart broken.

Yet, he lets it happen. He always does and he would always act as nothing bothered him. A sad, broken sigh escapes his lips as he stares at your door with empty eyes.

A sudden click of the door was made and Jungkook almost jumps out of his skin. Like a deer caught in headlights, he is frozen on his spot as he watches someone emerge out of the apartment.

Jungkook takes in a sharp breath when Taehyung closes the door behind him. When he finally meets Jungkook's eyes he freezes. They stare at each other in surprise with wide eyes.

Although, they don't say a word. There was only a heavy tension in the air, you can almost smell it. Jungkook's mind went blank at the mere sight of the older.

Why was he here? Why did he look like a mess? He studies Taehyung's appearance and with every second a surge of anger would boil inside him.

Taehyung's brown hair was a mess, it looked like either bed hair or he kept running his hand through it. His bottom lip seemed to be a bit swollen too. That was a bit odd to Jungkook.

There were only two possible ways for his lip to be like that. One, he got punched in the face. Or two, he had a makeout session.

That's when Jungkook's breathing stops short. No way, Jungkook thought in horror. He clenches his fists and jaw.

Seeing Jungkook's bitter expression sent an ecstatic feeling down Taehyung's spine. Amusement fills his eyes with a smirk plastering on his face. That was a reaction he was waiting for.

"Oh, hey, Kook," he greets cooly. "How are you?"

"Why were you in Jisun's apartment?" Jungkook demands instead. Taehyung cocks his head with a pout. "Why do you care?"

"Just answer the question," he snaps.

Taehyung stares at Jungkook in disinterest and ponders as to why was his friend looked so pathetic. But he has to say, that look suited him. Taehyung swiftly turns his heel and heads towards the elevator.

Jungkook blinks in surprise before stumbling to catch up. "H-hey, answer the question!" He shouts behind Taehyung.

He keeps his mouth shut and enters the elevator. Jungkook follows right after still asking the same question. As they exit, the elevator and the building Taehyung tries his best to ignore the younger.

But with each minute his patience begins to dwindle. Jungkook felt irritation run through his veins. Why wasn't Taehyung answering? Was this some sort of joke to him?

He follows right behind until Taehyung stops abruptly. Nearly colliding with his back Jungkook stumbles a couple of feet back. He glares at Taehyung angrily.

"What? Are you finally going to answer?" He questions rudely.

Taehyung sags his shoulders with a disapproving sigh. "Why do you keep asking the same question, Jungkook? Shouldn't my appearance be obvious enough?"

Jungkook bites the inside of his cheek. Yes, the messy hair, the swollen lip, the smirk of satisfaction upon Taehyung's face was enough proof. He already knows what probably happened in your apartment.

He just wants Taehyung to confirm his assumption. Taehyung scoffs and turns around smirking. "Since you're such a nosy brat then fine. Let me tell you about the fun Jisun and I had."

He stalks slowly to Jungkook and with each step, he fills him in. "I went to her apartment because I want to be there. There was something I wanted to tell her."

Jungkook's skin goes pale and his shoulders sag. He knew where he was going with this.

"Don't tell me, Taehyung. You actually--"

"Yeah, I did." He says proudly. "I told her that I love her. And you know what? She loves me back."

Dissatisfaction, infuriation, resentment starts to fill Jungkook's body. He could feel his body shake and his back becoming tense. That had to be a lie. Taehyung was just joking around, that's all.

"You're lying," Jungkook says through gritted teeth.

Taehyung stops in front of Jungkook feeling dominant and powerful. His smirk becomes dark and devilish as he cocks his head. Jungkook thought he looked a bit crazy, insane even.

"Oh, you think so? Why do you think my lip is swollen, hm? Why did I come out looking disheveled, Jungkook? Do you really want to know why?" He asks eagerly.

"It's because we fucking made out!" He laughs. "We made out like a bunch of high schoolers!"

Jungkook stares at Taehyung as he laughs hysterically. It was as if this whole situation was the funniest thing to him. But even so, Jungkook's breathing slows and he looks down in defeat.

He knew all along, you still loved Taehyung. Over and over again, he keeps setting himself up for humiliation. He gave up on you and decided not to care about who you like. Yet here he was, upset like a dumb idiot.

"Oh, is Jungkookie upset?" Taehyung giggles. "I mean, it's not surprising. Why would she pick someone like you? A boy with only a month and half of his life left."

Jungkook's eyes widen in hate and he clenches his teeth until he hears his teeth grind against each other. How could he say something like that so ignorantly?

Taehyung knew he hit a soft spot but who cares? He won and that's all that mattered to him.

"She needs a man that isn't dying and who can successfully achieve their goal."

"What goal do you speak of?" Jungkook spats.

Taehyung blinks, "Oh well since I mentioned one of your failures maybe I should add another one." He leans close to Jungkook's ear and smiles.

"I became a trainee at BigHit," he whispers.

Jungkook could feel his heart stop beating. His mouth was open agape in shock. That was his dream company. He wanted to be a trainee there.

He was surprised that Taehyung even got in. But that was just a small reason Jungkook felt lifeless. It was the fact Taehyung broke their promise.

A promise to become trainees together and be the best singers yet. He was jealous, yes but he also felt betrayed. They made a pact, something he thought friends should never break. Yet, here was Taehyung proving him wrong.

Taehyung pulls away with a sigh. "You should see your face, Jungkook. You look pathetic."

"Shut up." Jungkook growls.

"But hey, look on the bright side. I got the girl first and the career. So you should be happy for me. Just sit back and enjoy life while you--"

"I said, SHUT UP!"

A fist collides with Taehyung's jaw causing him to stumble backward. Jungkook keeps his fist out and breathes heavily in anger. He glares at Taehyung as he places a hand on his jaw perplexed.

"Did you just hit me?"

"What did it look like, asshole?!" Jungkook shoots back.

Taehyung scoffs and drops his hand, now he's pissed off. He rushes to Jungkook and yanks him by the collar.

"Alright, jerk, time for a lesson." He drags him into an alleyway and shoves him up against the wall. Jungkook tries to pull off Taehyung's grip but Taehyung only holds his collar tighter.

"You want to act tough, Jungkook? Then be my guest, but don't come crying to me when I break your nose."

He pulls back a fist and thrusts it into Jungkook's jaw and hits him with a loud crack. Jungkook's head is roughly turned to the side but he doesn't react. Taehyung studies the red mark on his jaw that'll surely become a bruise the next morning.

Feeling as though the hit wasn't enough he punches him in the stomach. Jungkook gasps in pain with his breath knocked out of him.

"Let that be a warning to you, loser. Lay a hand on me and you'll be hospitalized." Taehyung threatens. He takes one last look at the blooming bruise on Jungkook's jaw before roughly dropping him to the ground.

Taehyung scowls in disgust. "Pathetic loser." he spits next to Jungkook and walks away.

Jungkook stayed laying on the ground and starts to cough violently. He felt a liquidy substance run from his mouth down to his chin. The smell of tangy iron made him realize that it was blood.

He used to be strong and quik-witted but the cancer made him weak. Even recovering after two measly punches was hard for him.

He was wheezing horribly and his breathing unevenly fast. Blood was spurting of him as he coughed and he had no strength to stand up.

He can feel his eyelids become heavy in exhaustion. Well, that's one way to get some shut eye.

But no matter how tired he was he takes out his phone in a slow motion. Without looking he dials a number.

"Hello?" He hears someone answer on the other line.

"Street, Byoungi-ro . . . Look for an alleyway," Jungkook wheezes.

Jungkook could hear them demanding answers but he had no strength to answer. Exhaustion was finally taking over.

He felt his eyelids close enveloping his eyes in darkness. All he wants now was to finally sleep.
