•Fourty-Three

Jungkook leans in close suddenly intrigued. "She did?" He asks with a low, curious tone.

Seojun nods with a hint of excitement appearing in his eyes. He couldn't wait to tell Jungkook. This was going to be interesting.

Suddenly he remembers you and his glint of his excitement quickly fades. Fear was now in his eyes. God, if you find out then it would be the end of him.

Jungkook notices his friend's face go white as if he saw a ghost. He raises a brow in suspicion as he cocks his head.

"Seojun, are you okay?"

He let out a nervous laugh as an answer. He starts to rub the nape of his neck as he looks out the window.

"Yeah, I'm good," he answers warily. "It's just that Jisun can't find out about this. She'll kill me."

Jungkook examines Seojun's face that showed pure fear, his eyes full of worry and terror. He couldn't help but laugh at his fright. It was amusing to see a grown man be scared out of his wits by a small woman like yourself.

Seojun turns to him with narrow eyes. He didn't care Jungkook was laughing at him. He was truly terrified. He didn't want to be kicked again in the shin!

"I'm serious, Kook!" Seojun exclaims. "She'll hurt me!"

Jungkook laughs harder and throws his head back in the process. His laugh was clear and loud, it was probably the best thing Seojun saw Jungkook do in a while. He let a small smile slip on to his lips relieved to see his friend enjoy himself.

As Jungkook laughed his throat suddenly tightens causing him to choke for air. He leans forward as he coughs harshly. It was an ugly sound, Seojun watches in shock thinking Jungkook might hack out one of his lungs.

And that's what Jungkook felt like he was doing. It hurt his chest and it wouldn't stop. With his hand over his mouth, he felt something against his palm as he coughed. But whenever he tried to stop the coughing fit becomes louder and harsher.

His eyes were closed tightly together, this was embarrassing to cough like this here. When Jungkook was sure his coughing fit had gone he slowly grabs a napkin and wiped his mouth and hand.

"Jungkook," Soejun starts but abruptly stops as he gazes at the napkin in Jungkook's hands. His eyes widen with his breathing coming to a stop.

The clean white napkin became stained. It was stained blood red.

"Shit," Seojun curses at the sight.

Jungkook stays silent as he stares at it. He swallows hard, it was becoming worse. He was coughing up more blood than before.

"How long has that been happening?" Seojun demands lowly after a tense minute.

Jungkook slowly folds up the napkin, "About a couple of weeks." He mutters.

Seojun stares at him bewildered. "And you haven't said anything?!"

"What's there to say?" Jungkook questions with a shrug. "Don't make a big deal out of it."

Seojun scoffs, "Are serious?! Jungkook, you're coughing up blood! How's that not a big deal?"

Jungkook presses lips together unresponsive. He didn't want to talk about it, he didn't want to acknowledge it. Not now.

"Just drop it, please?" He asks almost pleading. "I don't want to talk about it right now."

Seojun stares at his friend in worry, he never saw Jungkook like that. But Jungkook seemed shockingly untroubled by it. Maybe it was happening for a while and he just noticed. It could be normal for the boy already.

He had to respect his friend's wish to not stress him more. He was too scared to see Jungkook cough like that again. So with he at sigh, he agrees.

"Alright. I'll drop it." He mumbles.

Jungkook sighs in relief, "Thank you. Now, can we get back to what we're talking about?"

"Oh! Yeah!" Seojun says attempting to light up the mood. "I'll tell you, just don't tell her I said it, okay?"

Jungkook nods with a small smile coming to his lips. "Alright, you scaredy-cat."

Seojun sends him a playful glare causing Jungkook to snicker. Seojun rolls his eyes, "Anyways, she was going to answer your question but you were too impatient and left."

"So, she told you her answer?" Jungkook inquires.

Seojun shrugs casually, "I mean I don't think I was supposed to know but she was too upset to even care that she told me."

Jungkook nods eagerly feeling his eyes bulge out of his sockets. The suspense was killing him. You did say something, now it was the moment of truth. What was it?

"What did she say?" He asks impatiently like a child. Seojun smirks and leans back.

"She said, and I quote, she was going to say that if you felt the same for each other then it would be perfect."

Jungkook blinks rapidly, perplexed by your words. His face was blank, his jaw dropped. Perfect. You said you two would be perfect for each other.

Just hearing those words sent an electrifying sensation through his heart. It was like giving it a jolt start.
His blood was pumping faster through his body sending color to his pale porcelain face.

Seojun watches as Jungkook's famous bunny smile comes to his lips. He smiles back.

"Perfect," Jungkook repeats, clearly whisked away. "I can't believe she said that."

Seojun nods along, "Yeah. She really has her heart set on you."

Jungkook suddenly chokes on his saliva. His smile was replaced with his mouth wide open in surprise. There's no way you felt like that. That had to be impossible.

Yes, what you said about you two being perfect for each other made him euphoric. But it was all hypothetical, that was this whole topic was based upon.

"I don't think that's true," Jungkook states lightly with a flattering smile.

Seojun shakes his head in denial. "No, Jungkook it is!" He exclaims. "Are you blind? She acts as if she's your girlfriend!"

Jungkook shifts in his chair awkwardly as he begins to chew the inside of his cheek. He looks bashfully down at the table. His heart was beating two times faster than usual.

Seojun sighs patiently and grasps the edge of the table with both hands as he leans forward. "I am certain she likes you more than a friend, Kook. I mean, you should've seen her face light up when you agreed to tag along the other night. She was thrilled," he explains.

Jungkook was overwhelmed with positive emotion that he had to take in a shaky breath. He was trying hard to contain his grin, he wanted to hear more.

"And when you left and she said those words I knew she felt something for you. It was clear as day." Seojun continues.

Jungkook sits in silence thinking it over. Seojun seemed so passionate as he spoke, his eyes were sparkling with his smile going from ear to ear. He knew Seojun wasn't lying.

It had to be true, he believed it was. If he was certain about his feelings maybe you'll be too. All he had to do was try. Jungkook raises his head slowly, his lips spread into a grin.

"You really believe so?" He asks.

Seojun nods furiously, "She's truly in love with you. I can feel it."

Jungkook stared at Seojun warily for a moment wondering if his instincts are correct. He hope they were. He wants it to be true.

Letting out a content sigh confidence began to run through his veins. "I guess that settles it then. I just need to tell her how I feel."

A surge of excitement envelopes Seojun as his grin broadens. "Yes!" He cheers. "Yes, tell her!"

Jungkook grins feeling pumped up as ever. "It's now or never, right?"

"Exactly! But, I have an excellent idea for you," Seojun gushes like a schoolgirl. "It'll help you confess."

Automatically interested Jungkook leans in close. "Tell me."

You pace feverishly back and forth in the living room. Your thoughts were jumbled but no matter how many times you tried to clear them they keep coming back. All your thoughts about Jungkook wouldn't leave your mind and it was driving you mad.

You were stressed more than ever as you tried to figure out why was he on your mind. Last night was a huge embarrassment for you. You felt foolish to let yourself get hopeful for something hypothetical.

It was dumb of you yet you wanted him to say the same words as you spoke. You two would be perfect together.
That's all you wanted to hear, yet why did you?

Even if he said that nothing could happen. It was a matter of fact, he was your best friend and you were his. He likes someone else and you . . . well, you didn't like anyone at the moment.

Taehyung still loved you and your feelings for him were complicated. After the kiss you shared you shortly forgot your worries. Your memories rushed back making your heartache.

Your feelings for Taehyung now became a tangle of want and confusion. Back then he was a perfect man, a man that you deeply fell for. And now, to you wasn't as perfect as you thought of him to be but he was still a good person.

You know he is, but can you do it again? Can you love him again?

You shake your head with your eyes squinted shut. This was all too overwhelming, too much was happening all at once. You needed a distraction, something that'll put you at ease.

Your gaze around your apartment for anything that'll do the trick, anything at all. Then you see your phone upon the kitchen counter and you trudge your way to it. Taking a seat at the counter you unlock your phone and open your photo album.

Going to your video folder you press on the first one you see and turn up the volume to the max. You watch as a teenage boy in the video set up his phone on his desk, he looked nervous but attempted to smile.

He straightens his spine as he sits on his desk chair and closes his eyes. He takes in a deep breath before greeting your ears with his angelic voice. He was singing.

His beautiful voice blesses your soul and you felt a surge of sudden euphoric feeling develop inside you. A warm smile escapes your lips as you listen intently to the song. His voice was soothing, reassuring, and amazing.

Your heart swells as his voice hits a certain high note with perfect ease and you watch him with glistening eyes. You've always loved his voice, it always soothed you.

There was something about it that truly made you forget all your worries and hardships for only a few minutes. And in those few minutes, you were in pure bliss.

It was like a gift from God, his voice was the voice of a beautiful angel. Your heart melts with your mind not jumbled anymore. It was fascinating that a person's voice can do so much in just a matter of minutes.

Jungkook was truly a one of a kind and you knew from the moment you heard him sing he was born to be on stage. He was born to make many people smile. He was born with a beautiful talent.

A talent you fell in love with so quickly you didn't have to think twice about.

Sadly the video ended but it didn't bother you as much for that you realized something incredible.

Jungkook has always been there, his voice always soothed you. His presence gave you confidence. His smile gave you strength.

Through thick and thin Jungkook never left you, he always stood by you with that cute bunny smile of his. He was always there no matter what. Color flushes your cheeks with your smile slowly turning into a grin.

You always wanted him by your side. You enjoy his presence, you fell in love with his voice and smile. You realize that what you felt for him was more than you can ever possibly imagine.

You realize you were deeply and truly in love with the boy you've known your whole life.
