•Fourty-Six

You dash out of the building automatically getting drenched by the cold rain. You stop to look left and right.

Which way did he go?

You bit your lip frantically as you try to figure out which way he'd gone. You knew if you stood here longer Jungkook would be farther away. Your fists shook violently at your sides as you try to decide.

Cursing under your breath you shut your eyes and took a blind turn. When you open your eyes you realized you'd turned right. You pick up the pace not caring that you tripped over your feet or slip over a puddle, you would always barely regain your balance.

This was all your fault. You shouldn't have hung out with Taehyung. What the hell went through your mind when you decided to ditch plans with Jungkook for him?

Jungkook was probably excited about you two hanging out and you just crushed him.

God, you just hope there was a sliver of hope for him to forgive you. You started to pray wholeheartedly as you sprinted through the rain.

The lights around you started to get dimmer as you ran further into the darkened area. Suddenly the city lights were no more and were replaced with dim streetlights. As you ran you scan the area.

You see the outline of trees and benches with a dark grassy opening on your left. You realize you ran into the park. There was no noise around you.

There were only the sounds of your feet pounding against the gravel road and the loud patters of rain colliding with the earth. Running here alone in almost complete darkness with no other sounds sent a nervous chill down your spine.

There's no doubt you were getting scared. But you swallow down your fear and start to look for Jungkook.

"Jungkook!" You shout through the loud rain. "Jungkook!"

You look side to side for a familiar stature but see nothing. You ran further into the park but still see no sign of Jungkook. Fear struck you like lightning. Strong and Fast.

Did you take the wrong turn? Were you running around worthlessly calling for someone who wasn't even here?

Your legs started to burn and your lungs began to beg for a gasp of air. You couldn't do it, you had to stop. Slowing into a walk you place your hips on your sides as you catch your breath. You still looked around the park.

You wanted to call his name but feel it may be worthless. He wasn't even here. You were the only one.

Feeling your bottom lip tremble in despair you couldn't help but choke out a sob. You took the wrong turn, Jungkook was now truly gone. All your searching, all the running it had truly been for nothing.

Now you won't have a chance to explain nor talk to Jungkook. It truly was all over.

Your heart rips in two creating a dark void within. Your sobs became louder with your mouth open in anguish as you cried. A mixture of tears and rain ran down your face and you didn't bother to wipe them away.

You walk along the path crying loudly like a lost child. A small amount within you was grateful you were alone here, no one could hear your loud sobbing.

You continue walking with no strength to run or the heart to keep searching for Jungkook. In the distance you could see light ahead, it came from a lone streetlamp beside a bench. Grateful to finally sit down your quicken your pace a bit.

As you got closer there wasn't only a streetlamp and bench in the lighting. There was also a person. Relief slowly flutters through your cold body as you see a stature of a young man walking further away. You look at his clothing and recognize the grey sweater he wore.

"Jungkook," you breathe.

It had to be him. It had to be Jungkook, your prayer must've been answered. Your feet move on its own and you run after him.

"Jungkook!" You shout as your heart beats faster. But he doesn't stop his pace, he continued his slow walk.

You make it under the light just as he was about to step into darkness. You stop in your tracks with your chest puffing in and out.

"Jungkook." He stops his walk but doesn't turn around.

"Jungkook," you say again in a pleading tone. "Please. Look at me."

He still doesn't listen and lowers his head. You heard a light yet dry scoff come from him.

"You know, this isn't the first time we were in this situation," he points out with little to no life in his voice.

You stare at him confused. You shake your head wondering if he was just talking nonsense. You don't remember being exactly in this situation in the past.

With the silence growing between you two Jungkook rolls his eyes in irritation. He guessed that you don't have a clue what he's talking about.

"You wouldn't remember," he says loudly.

It sent a stinging pain through your chest yet you stand in your spot silently. But that angered him more. He wants to you say somethings besides his stupid name.

"Hanok village!" He yells suddenly causing you to flinch. He turns around and gives you an icy stare.

His brown hair was soaked and almost covered his eyes. His skin was paler than before as the rainwater drips down cheeks then to his chin. His clothes were drenched, his white shirt stuck to his chest.

"At the village, you said you care about me."

"And that's true!"

"No, it's fucking not!" Jungkook explodes angrily.

You look at him stunned by his outburst. You realize he was breathing heavily with his fists shaking at his sides.

"You don't care about me! You never did! All you cared about was yourself and Taehyung! I was never in the picture, you didn't want me to be!"

You shake your head in disbelief feeling more tears run down your cheeks. "Jungkook, please I know what I did was wrong. It was horrible for me to ditch our plans. I'm so sorry."

Jungkook's stare turns into a glare, "That's it? All you can say is sorry?" He questions in disbelief.

For a sweet woman like yourself, you were quite cold to him. His heart was too broken to feel hurt by your lame apology. He looks at you in dissapointment while you stare back helplessly.

"Jungkook, I want to explain everything. Please-- "

"No!" He shouts in irritation. "I don't want to hear your weak excuses. This conversation is over. Have a nice life with Taheyung."

Without sparing you another glance he turns to walk away. Panic overwhelms you as your sobs became uncontrollable.

Jungkook was slipping past your fingertips, the feeling terrified you. With your body shaking and your chest rising and falling rapidly you take a step.

"What do I need to do, huh? What can I do to get you to stay!" You yell but he doesn't answer and keeps walking. Anxiety began to pulse through you.

"Answer me dammit!"

Jungkook abruptly stops in his tracks with teeth clenched tightly together. "I want you to look at me!" He shouts with his body trembling.

"I want you to look at me as I look at you!" He turns around with his lips turned into a deep frown and his eyes layered in despair. "I want you to be with me. I want you not to ditch me every time you see Taehyung!"

"Then I will!" You cried. "I'll do anything you want."

Jungkook shakes his head making you all the more confused. "No. It's too late for you to try to fix things. I'm done hoping for the better with you."

"Jungkook, just listen to me!" You wailed. "I never wanted any of this to happen! I'm sorry for what happened earlier, I had no choice but to say yes."

Jungkook's face becomes dull and lifeless as ever. No sign of emotion reached his eyes. A true sign of him giving up.

"You always have a choice, Jisun. You always do."

He looks at you once more and sees your body shake violently with your eyes bloodshot from your crying. You shake your head slowly in denial.

"Don't do this, Jungkook," you plead.

"Please."

He swallows hard as he feels his own tears well up in his eyes. His heart had already been shattered with the numbness growing like a tumor all over his body. He clenches his fists until his knuckles turned white.

"I'm doing nothing. You're the one who did."

He could feel his chest tighten but it wasn't from you. It was his lungs. He was doing his best to hide the pain it was slowly becoming unbearable.

Every time he took a breath it was like his lungs were on fire. With each breath becoming shallower than the last Jungkook knew he needed to go.

He needs to leave before you see how worse his condition has gotten. He turns his back once more wanting to getaway.

"Jungkook!"

Your feet move on its own as you ran to him and grabbed the back of his sweater to stop him. You both stood in silence with you holding his sweater and him still as a rock.

Jungkook looks up at the rainy night sky. He lets out a sigh, why were you so difficult?

"Let go, Jisun," he says lifelessly. You shake your head in denial.

"I won't!"

"Jisun--"

"I'm in love with you!" You scream with your eyes shut.

Only the sound of the rain was heard after your declaration. Jungkook was stunned to even attempt to breathe properly. You awaited his answer hoping he'll grant you your wish.

Jungkook tried to piece your words together. Never in his life had he expected you to say you love him. Yet you did. And he didn't how to react.

Were you lying or not, he wasn't sure. He didn't know what to believe anymore.

"Say something," you beg after what felt like an eternity. "Please."

Just as Jungkook was about to take in a breath he suddenly felt at heavy pressure on his chest. Panicking he gasps for air but his lungs started to burn. It became impossible to breathe.

He grasps his chest and falls to the ground gasping for air. You watch in horror as you see him spasm out in the wet ground.

"Jungkook, what's wrong?" You shout frantically and fall to your knees beside him.

He looks past you with his lips parted as he tried to breathe. But no matter what he did he still couldn't get air. It was like he was drowning. A burning sensation radiates inside him and he couldn't help but clench his shirt at the pain.

Quickly you take out your phone to dial 119. You dial the number with shaky hands as you watch Jungkook in terror.

"I-it's going to be okay, Jungkook," you try to assure. Although you knew those words wouldn't calm you. You were scared and felt like a helpless child.

Your shoulders shook as you cried, your heart beating a hundred miles per minute. You can't lose him. Not now.

You see Jungkook's gasps become softer and slower, your panicking increased.

"No, no, no! Jungkook stay with me!" You cried and shook his arm. "I'm getting help! Just stay awake!"

But Jungkook wasn't focusing on your words, he could barely hear them as his vision becomes darker. He can see your terrified face as you cry and shake in fright.

He never realized this was how things were going to end. He didn't think that his last moments were of yelling and screaming at you.

He imagined that he would go with a smile and you two would be finally together. Not you ripping apart like now.

It pained him to know this was how it was going to be. Him lying on the wet ground while you watch him die in tears. Regret pulses through him as he wished he could've done something before his end.

He wished he could've said he loved you back before his world went black.
