❀19- Surprise Envelope

I sighed, looking at my clock as I laid in my bed. It was almost 11 o' clock, the time he told me he was coming.

As the seconds passed, I felt more and more eager to see him as I clutched the edges of my blanket.

It has been months since things melted down between us, and we were back to normal.

Well... somewhat close to normal.

Taehyung's heart condition was on the rocky ages, meaning it could get worse, or it could get better. From his parents, they won't let me have a whole lot of information, or did he ever tell me more about it.

All I knew he was sick with some heart condition, and that has been on my mind since then.

It's just in the matter of time that I'll know the real answer.

Suddenly, I heard something hit against my window, and I stirred up from my position.

When I heard it again, I knew it was him, and got off the bed, and tiptoed towards the window, and opened it.

I stuck my head out, and looked down.

He was standing in the middle of my backyard, holding some pebbles in one of his hand, while the other, was waving at me, as a smile appeared on his lips.

"Hyeri! Hey!" He greeted me.

Yeah... and the Taehyung that I knew...
he came back.

We've been meeting up like this, to get closer to each other since we both think we don't have enough time to have each other in the day, so we meet even in the middle of the night.

Today was a little different, since each time he comes, he throws different things.

But this time, was the rocks for some reason.

"Yah! What are you doing throwing rocks at my window? My parents could hear and come out!"

I whispered harshly, but he just started to giggle, which I sighed.

"That's my Hyeri!" He said, and I threw a fist up at him.

"You're so gonna die when I get down here," I say as I started to climb out the window, a habit I've had for a long time since the discipline of being grounded was invented.

He just stood there, a wide smile on his face as he watched me skillfully climb down the window. As I jumped off, and onto the ground, I looked back at him and sighed.

"Now what do you want to meet up with me for?" I asked.

He walked forward, and came near me. After staring at my face, he looked up at my hair, and raised his hand to stroke my hair, and twisted the ends of my short hair with his fingers.

"Come with me to find out,"

He said softly, his eyes directing towards my lips and I started to feel nervous again.

Instead of swiping his hand away, like the usual me would do, I only grabbed it, and entwined my fingers in between his fingers.

"Well let's go then," I say, challenging him.

"What happened to the me dying part-" I smacked my hand onto his mouth, causing him to stop.

He knew the look on my face, and grabbed my hand and smirked instead, and turned around and lead me to take me wherever he was going to take me.

As he lead me, I couldn't help but watch him from behind.

He was surely a strange guy, but I love strange guys.

Where he lead me to, was towards the Han river. We stopped right under the bridge and looked towards the beautiful scenery in front of us.

I've never gone here when it's dark before, so it's the first time for me.We usually hang in the Banpo park, but today was different.

And I wondered why.

After standing there watching for a while, we eventually sat down on a nearby bench.

"Why here?" I asked, and he turned to look at me.

"Because I have something in mind today." He said, and I looked up at him with a questionable look.

"And what's that?" I asked him again.

"Well I can't let you know yet." He said, and I leaned on him and stuck my bottom lip out.

"Why?" I asked him again, but using my aegyo this time. "Why can't you let me know now?"

He looked at me, and began to stutter. "Be-because I want a kiss first."

"So you're saying, after I kiss you, you'll let me know?" I figured, and he nodded and smiled widely, a little bit too much.

"Okay!" I say with a cutesy accent to it, and closed my eyes and puckered my lips out as I leaned forward.

When I knew when my lips were close to his, I opened my eyes.

"YAH! You think I'm that easy?!?!?!"

"
AH AH!"

"Tell me now or you'll get no kisses!" I threatened up while he held his ear, where I had pinched him.

Hurriedly, he dug in his pocket and pulled out a while envelope, and gave it to me.

"Yah, what is this..." I say, and grabbed it and began to open it. When I was opening it, I was a bit hesitant since the heading and everything was blank, so I didn't know where this was from.

I was only scared if this was the results about his heart condition, but I shoved that towards the back of my head.

I took out a folded piece of paper, and opened it.

Inside, was two plane tickets headed for Jeju Island.

"what are you planning..." I say worriedly, looking at the plane tickets with wide eyes when I saw our names on it also.

"Our parents thought we both needed to have a vacation together, and I just thought of the location." He said, and I looked up at him.

"What?! Our parents???" I say, turning my body around as I faced him completely.

"We're going to fly next week. Right after school finishes."

He just says, leaning back as he placed his arms back in a relaxed manner.

"What? How did this happen? Our parents agreed for us to fly out like this?" I say, not completely understanding what was happening just now.

He turned his head.

"There, I told you. Now where's that kiss I've wanted back?"

When I didn't respond, he just sighed and turned his head the other way.

Suddenly, he swiftly turned and grabbed my face and pecked me on the lips and sat back again, in the same relaxed manner where he was.

"Now I'm satisfied." He says, leaving me with flustered cheeks and tingly lips.

I was also satisfied, turning to sneak a quick look at him, knowing I get to be with him to go to Jeju Island with him for a full week.

"But why?" I asked him.

He turned his head to look at me.
"It's going to be our first vacation together."

"But why are we going to have a vacation together-"

He placed a finger on my lips, hushing me.

"Because I want to spend all of my time with you... and get to know you even more." He said to me, and I didn't know why but I started to tear up from his words. I didn't know why, but it suddenly scared me, the way he said it.

I leaned forward and placed my arms around his torso, hugging him against me.

"Why? Why are you being like this," He says with a light chuckle, but I remained silent and kept on hugging him. He sighed, and placed his arms around me also.

"Are you scared of what happened to us before?"

I nodded my head, and his arms tightened around me and I felt immediately comforted.

"I promise you, for as long as I live on this earth... I'll never be like that towards you again." He said, and I closed my eyes and hugged him even tighter.

"Hyeri, you know I love you. Don't ever think about that again, okay?" He says softly, and I nodded my head again, completely trusting in him.

He began to stroke my back, which felt relaxing to me, and we both stayed quiet, looking towards the far ends of the Han river.

There was no words for us right now, since having each other was already enough.

The thought of us going to Jeju Island together... I began to wonder why we get to go like this.

But the more I wondered, the more worried and scared I got, so I stopped wondering and closed my eyes and lean more against him. I only hoped our vacation would be filled with fun.

TAEHYUNG'S P.O.V

As she leaned against me with her eyes closed, showing me her complete trust in me...

it was my turn to feel guilt build up in me.

She already knew how my condition was, but she didn't know it all. Ever since she told me she knew I was sick, I knew I was doomed since I couldn't hide it away from her anymore. So that's all she knew.

I had a bad heart condition.

And it should stay that way for her knowledge.

As I stoked her back in thought, I remembered what my mother said to me when she handed me the plane tickets.

"Remember, when you go to Jeju Island... find the herbal doctor in the town. He can provide some assistance with the right medicine for you to take. I trust you." She had said. "Take Hyeri with you. I've spoken to her parents. If anything goes wrong... she will be there with you."

And that exact moment, I knew it all well.

A tear escaped from one of my eyes, and I wiped it away immediately.

I looked down at her, and stroked her hair.

This will be the best vacation you'll ever have with me, Hyeri. I promise.

The first... and the last.

I thought as I looked at her.

With that in mind, I looked up, and stared towards the dark Han river wishing everything will go well.
