How do you forget glasses when you've worn them almost every day of your life? I asked myself, holding the bridge of my nose from the headache. This is ridiculous! Just goes to show how preoccupied I am about Dan.

My boyfriend, Dan, was acting strange. Suddenly, he was dressing nicer, was working out, stuff like that. I just knew he was having an affair; he was showing all the signs. And, now, on top of the worry, I had a headache. People were glowing. It was almost making me dizzy.

I leaned out of my cubical to talk to my "work wife," Amy. You know, the woman you end up spending more time with than your own partner because you work so much. "Do you want to have lunch with me today?" I winced as I saw a fuzz of red around her.

"I can't." she said, practically ignoring me. I winced as I saw a fuzz of red around her.

My feelings were hurt, not because she couldn't go, but because I knew what she was saying wasn't true. Suddenly, it dawned on me that I was seeing truth... the truth of what people were saying. I decided to test it.

"Bummer. I guess you do need to get that finished before you go on vacation. You looking forward to that?"

She glowed blue. "You know I am! A week at the beach. I'm ready to relax."

That night, I decided to use my new found powers to ask Dan a few questions. "So, what's up with the new style of dress, working out, and stuff? Are you... having an affair?" I blurted.

"What? No!" He glowed purple. What the hell did purple mean? Half truth?

I sighed. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm just paranoid. So, how are you feeling about your work trip next week? I can't believe you guys are going to the beach for a conference!"

"I'm really looking forward to it. Too bad I have to work the whole time, but I'm hoping to get in some sun while I'm there."

I laughed. "Well, I'm jealous of you and Amy. You both get to go to the beach."

He glowed blue.

And I put it together. He wasn't having an affair... yet.
