Your POV

After finishing up my manager duties I notice a piece of paper sticking out. Me being the curious person I can be I looked to see it was Kagami information from the first day we met. The handwriting seems to be the coach's handwriting. Then I notice a few more details about him and his birthday too.

'No freaking way Kagami's birthday is coming up.' I began to smile seeing Kagami all surprised for his birthday.

"Three days?... I think I can make it happen with such a small time frame."

Kuroko POV

I waited outside for (F/n) to walk home together but she was taking her time. Kagami had to leave since his dad was coming home today and most of the guys left to go home.

"Tetsu!" I heard her yell as she caught up where I was standing.

"Did you finish your manager duties?"

"Yep and guess what I found out?" She said as I didn't know what she found out.

"Kagami's birthday is coming up soon, so I thought why don't we surprise the birthday boy with the team and have a nice meal together. The food will be easy to make and we have decorations ready at our place." She said as I bump my fist in my hand.

"That's a great idea and we can ask them a few of our teammates to help out. Except for coach we don't want to have the team poison by her cooking."

"Yeah, maybe she can help with decorations instead." I nodded as we began to shake off the thought of her cooking again.

"Alright we'll tell the guys about our plan and we'll invite Kagami over for dinner. He's not the brightest guy in the team so he won't know about it."

"I think we can make it happen, with everyone pitching in we can make this surprise party a success," I said as she nodded in agreement.

"Okay, tomorrow we'll tell the guys about our idea, and knowing Kagami he'll be late so that gives us a small opportunity to let the others know." I nodded as we began to head home and started to think of what to serve for the party.

Kagami POV

"Taiga that was a great meal you've made," my dad said as I smile seeing he enjoyed it.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it my teammate taught it to me last time I went to their house," I said as he smiled.

"I'm quite surprised that you learn to make this by your friend. You should invite them over someday that way I can meet them." He said as I didn't think about inviting her over.

"Well if I invite her over then Kuroko would come too. It's almost like a package deal with those two where they go." I said as took the plate over to the sink.

"Ah so it's a girl that taught you this meal, and by the looks of it they're more than just friendship between you and her." He said almost reading too much into it.

"Dad we're just friends, plus I sorta messed up my chance with her already. Then there's the ex-boyfriend that is trying to get back with her and few other guys try to ask her out." I said as I remember the number of guys that like her.

"I guess that girl must be quite popular if she has that many guys following her. Then again that's never stopped anyone from trying to ask her out." He said as I sigh seeing that Momoi-san mentioned her ex-boyfriend and that he wants her back. Then theirs that volleyball guy who got rejected by her but still hangs out with her on their time off. Then there's the carrot who knows her well enough to ask her out if he wasn't a tsundere. Then that fan club of hers is also a problem if they see her with another guy or even helping someone out they get jealous too. Now I'm wondering how did she manage to get almost one-third of the school's female students to become her fans?

"Taiga?"

"Huh? Oh sorry, dad I got lost in my train of thought." I said as he smile.

"I said maybe you should be more honest with her. It's obvious you like her but you're holding back because of something you did in the past. Plus you being a basketball junkie you probably place basketball first before her." He seem to hit the nail on the head since I did do that but I didn't mean to back then.

"So what do you think I should do?"

"Well if I were in your shoes, I would tell her without any distraction about basketball. I know from experience that women don't like to be placed last over our hobbies. Your mother reminded me to always make time for her and you. So pick a time when neither of you are focus on basketball." He said as I nodded but that's hard already since she is the manager for the team and joins the games as well. Then there her dance practice and her normal routine at home.

'Oh boy, this is difficult than I thought it would be.'

Your POV

"Okay guys I know it's strange for us to have a meeting here early in the morning, but we can't afford Kagami to find out," I said as the guys seem confused about this special meeting.

"As all of you know Kagami is not here because I didn't tell him we were here. Kuroko is making sure to tell me when he gets here for school since he tends to hide easily." I said as everyone seem confused still.

"The reason I gather you all here today is so we can plan a surprise dinner party for Kagami at our place. Kagami's birthday is this weekend and I wanted to surprise him with a dinner with the team to celebrate his special day. So I was hoping that you guys would help me out with decorations and cooking." I said as they seem to understand now.

"So it's just us at your place, I suppose we can help out a fellow teammate. Since you do a lot for us as the team manager and try to keep those two in line we can lend a hand." Hyuga senpai said as the others nodded.

"Mitobe can help you with the cooking he's an amazing cook too." Kogenai senpai said as Mitobe senpai nodded with a blush.

"We can help with the decorations," Teppei senpai said as the rest of the second years agree.

"And we can provide drinks and help you out in any way we can." The rest of the guys said as I couldn't help but smile.

"Everyone thank you so much I'm sure Kagami will be very surprised when he sees how much he means to us." Everyone seemed excited about the party. My phone went off and Tetsu message me that Kagami was coming now.

"Okay, Kagami is here now remember do not mention anything about the party, kay?" I said as agreed and we all head to class before he got suspicious. I snuck back into my class and sat in my seat before he asked where I was.

"Kuroko where's shorty at?" Kagami asked as he didn't notice me.

"I'm right here Bakagami!" I yelled as he just notice me there.

"Oh didn't see you there, were you there the whole time? Could have sworn you weren't there." He said as I hit him with my English textbook.

"Excuse me for helping out our coach with the training schedule!" I yelled while going to grab my book back.

"Kagami-kun are you alright?" Tetsu asked as he remain on the floor.

"Yeah, I'm sure the concussion that she gave me is normal now. Since when have there been three of you Kuroko?"

'I guess I threw the book a bit too hard on him.'

"Should we take him to the infirmary?" Tetsu asked as I sigh and went to grab a rice ball I had ready to shut up Kagami.

"Kagami look a rice ball with your favorite filling." He tries to grab it but failed a few times until he got up and start to eat it.

'He is so simple-minded.'

Time skip day of the party

Kuroko POV

I don't know how he hasn't noticed us not preparing for his party. There were almost a few times we almost got discovered but he was so simple-minded that he didn't even know what it was.

"Tetsu can you help me out a bit!?" (F/n) asked as I walked in and see her covered in flour.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm trying to make the cake but I forgot to preheat the oven. Can you set the oven at 350° for please?" She asked as she mixed the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients.

"Do you need help with something else?" I asked as she looked at the clock.

"Okay can you wash the vegetables, and I'll try to finish up the cake and start making the food next." I nodded as the oven rang notifying us that it's pre-heated. She finished mixing the cake batter and poured them into the mold before placing them in the oven.  The doorbell rang so I went to open the door to see Hyuga senpai and the others here.

"Hey, Kuroko sorry if we're early." Hyuga senpai said as he carried a box of decorations.

"Don't worry we've been up for a while though I thinking she's biting more than she can chew," I said as I heard the none stop chopping. I let them in and guided them to the living room and dining area.

"Ah hey, guys sorry I've been running around all morning trying to prepare the cake and just started on the food." She said as they seem surprised by how she looked.

"It's a good thing Mitobe can cook," Hyuga senpai said as everyone nodded.

"Alright let's set the decorations up while Mitobe and (F/n) finish up with the food." Teppei senpai said as he began to pull out some decorations.

"We have a few hours before Kagami gets here," (F/n) said as I wonder about something.

"So how did you manage to get him to come over?" Kogenai senpai asked as she smiled.

"All I said is do you want to come over for dinner and he said yes." She said as everyone sigh seeing how easy Kagami is.

"Alright let's get to work!" Coach yelled as everyone agreed.

Kagami POV

I got ready to go to Kuroko and (F/n) place for dinner. My dad had to leave for business again so today has been a buzz kill day. Now that I think about it Kuroko and everyone has been acting differently for the past few days. Though it's probably about something with girls or something I wouldn't understand.

'Maybe I should bring something for the meal but knowing her she probably prepared everything.' As I looked at my phone and see that I would probably be early so why not take a detour. Seeing that I need to make up my mind with my relationship with (F/n). I do like her a lot and I admire her skills too but am I willing to change our relationship because of how I feel. Then there's the team wouldn't they be affected by our relationship too?

'This is hard to think about especially when I already messed up the first time.' I began to head their place hoping at least I could figure things out.

'Why can't feelings be like basketball, it would be so much easier to understand.' I walked by the burger joint that we would come sometimes as a group. I couldn't help but smile thinking about the good times she would help us out with our school work.

'Maybe it's better if we stayed as friends for now. So many things are happening all at once now that I don't think adding a relationship .' I began to walk towards their house and looked up at the sky. The sun was only starting to set turning the sky into soft orange.

'Sorry dad but if you knew how busy she is you would understand.' I looked around and noticed that I was already in front of their building.

'Well here it goes,' I walked in and enter the elevator, and pushed the button on their floor. I'm still amazed that they live here sometimes but at least they have their own space. When I finally made it to their floor I began to make my way to their door. When I rang the doorbell I heard a thump meaning one of the two fell or drop something. When the door opens I see it's Kuroko that opens the door like he usually does meaning that thump was (F/n).

"Kagami-kun you're on time," he said calmly.

"Yeah she did say to not be late," I stated as he open the door. I notice the living room lights were off.

"Come on in (F/n) went to change clothes," he said making me wonder why.

"Did something happen?"

"No, she didn't want to look like a mess," Kuroko said as he walked into the dark living room.

"Geez turn on the lights, sometimes I wonder if the two of you are supernatural or not." I looked for the switch and found it and switched the lights on only to be surprised to see everyone there.

"SURPRISE HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAGAMI!" They yelled as they all popped out of their hiding spots.

"What?"

"What do you mean 'what?' (F/n) and Kuroko planned this birthday dinner for you. We just gave them a hand to set this place up for you." Hyuga senpai said as I felt something being place on my head.

"Now we know who the birthday boy is with this." I turn to see (F/n) who was smiled behind me.

'So this is what they were doing behind my back, they were planning a party for me.' I smiled and patted her head.

"Thanks for doing this for me," I said as she seem glad that I wasn't mad.

"Well let's dig in! Mitobe and (F/n)-chan were busy cooking this special meal for you all day." Teppei senpai said as pushed me towards the table where all the food was spread out for everyone.

"Wow, you two outdone yourself!" Kogenai senpai said as he looked at the food.

"Well, Mitobe senpai is an amazing help in the kitchen that I had extra time make other dishes." (F/n) said as I looked at the other dishes.

"Well, what are we waiting for let's dig in! Can't let their hard work go to waste," the coach said as we grab seats and thanked them for the meal.

Every bite I took was amazing in flavor that I couldn't help but take my time eating each bite. I felt like I was in a high-class restaurant just by eating their food.

"(F/n)-chan this amazing and Mitobe you outdid yourself!" Teppei senpai said as he smiled enjoying the food.

"You should have tried the food she brought to us before you came back. She cooked us a lobster and so many delicious side dishes." Hyuga senpai said as he seem surprised about her cooking skills.

"Yeah and if you think that's impressive the bento box she made for us was even more delicious when we won our Seiho match." Izuki senpai said as everyone nodded.

"Somehow this is unfair you guys got to try her food from the beginning and I started during our training camp," Teppei senpai said as we all laugh as (F/n) got up and grab some more drinks. When all the food was gone everyone seem so happy to have the chance to taste each dish.

"Everyone I hope you have room for dessert," she came back this time with a cake in her hands.

"Wow, that's amazing!" Kogenai senpai said as Kuroko lighted the candles.

"Okay, Kagami now make a wish," the coach said as I smile and thought about what I could wish for. When I did and blew out the candles and they all clap and some pop some confetti poppers.

"Happy birthday Kagami!" They all yelled together. I was given the first pice and taking the first bite I felt like I died and gone to heaven.

"It's so light and fluffy and the flavor is incredible," Hyuga said as everyone seem to have the same feeling.

"Not mention the fresh fruit on top makes it even more flavor too."The coach said as splashed.

"Well, it wasn't hard to make the cake the hard part was to make sure that it was cooked properly and had time to cool down before placing the icing on top." (F/n) said as we all seem lost in the flower and the textures.

"(F/n) when my birthday comes up please make this cake for me," Kogenai senpai asked as she smiled.

"Sure thing Kogenai senpai," she said as everyone enjoyed the cake.

'She may be out of my reach but standing by her and enjoy moments like this. Well, I wouldn't mind just being friends, at least until she decides what to do.'
