Masaomi POV

The game began to resume and right away I notice that (F/n) was now playing. Even with a bit over five minutes on the clock things are about to get interesting.

"They took out number 7? Yukio said almost concerned about him.

"He's been the focus of the rough play," Kise said as we watch the court.

"I'm going to guess they took him out before it becomes something much more fatal," I stated as I thought back to Haruto's injury.

"Is this going to break Seirin?" Kise asks now concerned about them.

"No, I highly doubt this will break them this might be the reason they won't break," I said as I notice Kagami was being double blocked but before one of them got the ball Kuroko redirected it to their captain. He went to make the shot only for it to bounce back on the rim.

'What's up with him? Now that I think about it he hasn't been making his shots like he normally does. Either he's letting his emotions get the best of him or he's out of gas now. Still, without his three-shot, they can't make it in time.'

Haruto POV

"Hyuga's not making his shots today, he needs to make them now too. What do you think, Sakurai? " Wakamatsu asked as we stayed focused on the game.

"His shoulders are tenser than usual, it's like he's overexcited. Three pointers that require a delicate touch are a matter of chance." He explained as this is new information.

"How interesting, so no matter how good the shot is, sometimes they just don't go in. That's something I wouldn't have known," I said as I wrote it down for my data book.

"However, once you make one, it doesn't stop, he's especially like that," Sakurai said almost as if he sees him as a rival.

"Well, that's even intriguing to know."

Teppei POV

As I sat there watching everyone play I couldn't help but feel bad for what I put Riko through.

"Riko... I'm sorry for talking to you like that," I said as she smiled and shook her head.

"I understand how you feel, the reason the damage to the rest of the team has been so light against such a violent team is because you protected them, Teppei. Hyuga-kun and the others will handle the rest," she said with confidence as the ball went out of bounds.

"Out of bounds white ball!"

Akashi POV

"Hey Akashi can I ask you a question?" I looked over to see Sora with confusion.

"Of course, what is it?"

"Well a few weeks ago I got a call from Haruto and he seem pretty mad that he yelled at me to die and hung up before I could greet him. So I was wondering what did you send him?" He asked as I smile seeing how he doesn't understand a few things.

"Oh to just pass a message to someone," he shrugged his shoulder and let it go. It amazes me how clueless he is when he's not angry or in a foul mood.

'Guess that's why girls like dumb pretty boys, it's no wonder he's popular.' My phone rang notifying me that I received something. I looked to see it was from my empress fan club saying that she's playing so cool and stuff about her teammates. I was curious about what they meant and open the link to the live stream.

"Is that a game?" Sora asked as I watch and see them making a three-pointer shot.

"Wait are you watching your ex's game again?" He asked with annoyance in his tone.

"So what if I am, I plan to get her back once we win the winter cup. For now, I'm just making sure that no other guy is trying to steal her away from me."

"What about carrot guy, if I remember correctly they had a very strong friendship that people sometimes mistake them as a couple. So what are the odds that they're now finally going out?" He said as stop in my track.

'He has a point Shintaro has always had a crush on my empress and now that we're far apart he'll have a chance to win her heart.' I grip my phone feeling the anger of someone stealing her away from me. Not just anyone some I consider my right hand at teiko.

"Hey, Akashi you alright?" Sora asked as if he doesn't know if I am or not.

"Never been better but I have to make a call so head over to the gym," I said as he shrugged his shoulder and went to the gym. I grab my phone and start looking for a number, once I found it I began to call them.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Ryota are you busy by any chance?"

Haruto POV

For some reason, I felt an uncomfortable feeling going up my spine, almost like a warning of some kind. I looked over and see Kise wasn't with his team.

'Where could he have gone to? Better yet who would call him during a game?"

"This is.." Sakurai began ad I looked at the ball being shot at the three-point line.

"What? Another miss?"

"Just the opposite, it's perfect, it can't miss," he said as the ball went in.

"So he finally made the shot after missing almost all of them, must feel great for him," Imayoshi-san said as I smile.

"Not only that they didn't break without their number 7, and by the looks of it they're not going to slow down until the game is over," I said as I could see their determination to win against them now.

'Now that the outside's scoring, the inside coming to life, looks like things are finally moving forward."

"Hanamiya's spider web... with Kuroko breaking the strands and Hyuga three they were able to break free. Stopping Seirin now will be difficult for them now," Imayoshi-san said as we watch them keep scoring.

'Even though Kirisaki's determined, too.'

Your POV

"Change gears, let's get it back!" Hyuga senpai yelled as we didn't lose focus.

"Right!"

As they started Izuki senpai was blocked when Hanamiya passed him.

'A screen but why?'

"Switch!" Izuki senpai yelled as Tetsu blocked Hanamiya from going forward.

'Don't tell me he's going to hurt Tetsu,' As I try to go help Tetsu number 7 blocks me from going to help him.

"It's all... it's all your fault!' Hanamiya yelled as I saw the look in his eye.

"Tetsu!"

"Kuroko!"

As he brought his arm down to hit Tetsu dodged his hit just in time. I felt relieved that he dodged it but now is not the time. We can't let them shut us down, not until the buzzer goes off.

"Piece of shit, if only you weren't here.." Hanamiya said as we felt like he was about to snap.

"Heh just kidding, idiot!" He said as he took the chance to pass Tetsu. As Hyuga senpai and I try to block him he jumped to make the shot.

'No way he jumped so early and to do a layup from there? No this is not a layup, could it be a teardrop or something else?' As we jump I almost reached it but only to brush it by the tip of my finger. Even so, the ball still made it into the hoop.

"So he had another card up his sleeve," I mumbled as he had his back towards us.

"You thought all I could do was play aggressively and steal the ball? Of course not, idiots. Cause even without tricks I can still s ore whenever I want."

'Seriously, he's breaking what little self-control I have from smacking him here and now.'

"Honestly I'm disappointed I couldn't crush you but whatever. If I win, either way, it's game over for your dream. It'll be the end of your disgusting little game of friendship, too." He said mocking us for trusting our teammates.

"Don't be ridiculous!" Tetsu called out in the open. I notice right away what he was about to do and snuck out for site from where I was.

"I choose to fight because I thought the generation of miracles basketball was wrong... but they'd never do anything underhanded like you. So with your style don't get in the way of our, of the senior and everyone, dream!" He said as did his ignite pass but I knew I wasn't going to make it so I rely on the one person that I knew could catch that pass.

"Kagami!"

"Jam it in, Kagami!" Kyoshi senpai yelled as he slammed the ball into the hoop.

"Another comeback!"

"Amazing!"

I could hear the cheers and I felt something was off with me. I'm not sure why but it was like I felt I was being held back.

'This feeling why do feel this way?' I felt the pressure on my shoulders but before I could think about what could be the cause of this feeling  Hyuga senpai brought my thoughts back.

"We're not done yet! Don't let up until it's over!" Hyuga senpai yelled as shook my head and focus on the game.

"Yeah!"

'Nows not the time to start to doubt my judgment,' as the guy passed the ball to Hanamiya I was able to catch it and pass it to Hyuga for him to score.

With thirty seconds on the clock left, we made sure to score as many points as we could. At some point, one of Hyuga senpai's shots hit the rim making it a rebound. Kagami manage to catch it to pass it to me as I passed it to Izuki senpai who passed it to Hyuga senpai. When he went to make the shot he passed it to Tetsu who passed it back to him confusing number 7 in what just happened and making the shot.

Just as the buzzer went off the last quarter was over with a score of 76 to 70. With everyone cheering and seeing how intense the game was we began to cheer as well.

"All right!" Hyuga senpai yelled as they scream with everything they had. Well, almost every Mitobe senpai had the best smile but I could tell he was screaming from the inside. Some of our teammates were smiling and laughing with joy as Tetsu and I observed their smiles. I felt that feeling from before had vanished after seeing how happy everyone was.

'That feeling, maybe I should let them know the truth about my past, but to bring such a sad topic on such a happy occasion seems wrong. So maybe it's best on another day to tell them.' I felt Kagami grab hold waist and lift me in the air like a child.

"We're going to the winter cup!" He yelled as I held onto him for dear life.

"Kagami put me down!" I yelled but I saw his smile making me smile but the fear of being held up high seem to go away just a little bit.

'Oh well, just this once.'

Masaomi POV

"Seirin did it," Yukio said as he looked proud at their win.

"Yeah," kise said happy to see them celebrate their win.

I notice Hyuga senpai looking at Kiyoshi senpai, almost debating to go to him. He walked up to him and they high-fived each other just like best friends would do. I don't know why but it reminded me of Haruto and Sora when they would do a good job in dance.

'I guess I do miss that jerk, but eventually, he'll come back to his senses.' I got a text from Haruto senpai and see he sent a picture. When I open it I saw it was a picture of me where I'm sitting with a text of 'I see you,' on it.

I shook my head and closed my phone seeing that he was just messing with me as he usually does when we would compete against each other.

"Did you get a text from your girlfriend to make you smile like that?" Yukio asked as shook my head.

"Nah just remember when you became a shuttering mess when you first met Ayame for the first time. You were shuttering so much it looked like we're freezing to death." I said as he blush and started to defend himself.

Kuroko POV

We got our towels to wipe the sweat off of us Hanamiya-kun came up to us with his head down.

"I lost, Seirin... and Kiyoshi, I'm sorry for everything." He said as I almost believed him but I felt someone pull my jersey and I looked to see (F/n), was now back on the floor after being lifted by Kagami-kun, shaking her head at me. Just as I was going to ask why he began to show his true colors.

"Like I'd ever say that, idiots! You're the first ones to ruin my plans this badly. I'll make you regret it for the rest of your lives. Next time, I'll crush you!" He said with revenge in his mind.

"Hanamiya, that last shot you made... I thought it was amazing. Let's play again," Kiyoshi senpai said with a smile on his face. From the looks of Hanamiya-kun didn't seem to be happy with his response but I could be wrong.

"Don't be ridiculous, damn it... damn it!" He yelled as (F/n) walked over to Hyuga senpai and whispered something to him. He whispered something back making her sigh and agreed to not do it unless it was necessary. Which made me wonder what she asked Hyuga senpai to let her do.

Haruto POV

As Hanamiya yelled out of anger I felt a bit annoyed that he reminded me of Sora's angry side a lot. Making me want to punch him just like how I used to do for Sora back in middle school.

"Aomine-kun?" Momo-chan called him out as I noticed him beginning to leave.

"I'm leaving," he said as I look at the time.

"You're leaving? You do realize Shutoku's game isn't over yet." I stated as he look back at us.

"He's not going to lose, they're all taking their time." He said as I could tell he was grinning.

"I'm sick of waiting," he said as he began to walk away.

'I guess he wants to win against Kurosaki-san to finally be able to defeat the queen of the court. Still, that doesn't seem possible even with her current state it might take longer than Ayame had predicted for her to fully trust a team.'

As the buzzer for Shutoku match rang I notice the score and I wasn't surprised since I've seen what Midorima shooting skills were like. With a score of 112 to 81, Shutoku won by 31 points.

"Shutoku's going to the winter cup, too, well that was expected, " Imayoshi-san stated as he got up and we knew it was time for us to leave too.

As made our way to the front I felt like something was off with Kurosaki-san for a moment in the game. Almost like she was beginning to doubt herself in her choices.

"Aomine-san was smiling," Sakurai said trying to figure out why.

"Considering the meaning of today's results, of course he was," Imayoshi-san said with a smile.

"What meaning?"

"I'm starting to get excited, too, it's not every day we can go against the queen's skills," he said making worry for Kurosaki-san.

'That may be true but still, that just proves how respected she is in this sport.'

Small time skip

Your POV

"No one's forgetting anything, right?" Coach asked as I finished packing my stuff and checking to see if we didn't leave anything behind.

"Huh? Where's Kuroko-kun?" She asked as I looked up and notice that Tetsu and Kagami weren't with us.

"Kagami's looking for him," Fukuda-kun said as I was surprised that Tetsu didn't say anything to me before he went on his own.

"They're always wandering around somewhere," coach said a bit annoyed by their actions.

"I understand how Kuroko feels... in any case, things are finally starting now." Kiyoshi senpai said with a smile.

"Starting? You mean the winter cup?" Kogenai senpai asked as he stood up.

"Yeah, but that's not all, this will probably be the only year they have a special bracket. Every one of teiko prodigies, including the phantom sixth man and queen of the court, is participating." He said as I didn't realize that sooner or later I'll have to face Akashi and the others at the winter cup.

"So in other words, this winter cup will be an all-out war with the generation of miracles." I felt that strange feeling from before coming back. This dreadful feeling was a feeling that made me want to run and never come back.

"(F/n)-chan?" I snapped out of my thoughts and smiled.

"I'll go find our idiot duo I'm sure I know where they are now seeing they haven't shown up yet," I said as I grab my stuff and head out to find them.

Riko POV

When she left the look she had on seemed to be like she was contemplating in what to do. This is the second time I've seen it and I'm not sure why but I have a feeling she's still trying to understand how to trust us even after so many months of us playing with everyone.

"That was a bit weird, even for (F/n)-chan," Hyuga said as most of know she still a mystery to most of the guys but even with the knowledge I know about her mother I feel terrible not being able to help her in any way.

"Riko what's wrong?" Teppei asked making snap out of my thoughts.

"Oh it's nothing, just thinking about a new training routine," I said as they groan.

'Maybe I should ask Ayame about this.' As we are almost ready to leave (F/n)-chan sent me a text saying she found them playing basketball.

"Hyuga she found our two idiots," he looked at the text and started marching to where they were at.

"Typically of those two but at least they have someone watching over them."

Your POV

After sending a text to coach I sat on the steps and watch them play. They look like they were having fun even though it's obvious that Kagami was outscoring Tetsu.

"All right! I feel awesome!" Kagami yelled as he scored again.

"Don't give me that!" Hyuga senpai yelled as he kicked him in the head.

"Ow!"

"Why are you playing one-on-one with him, you idiot!?" He asked as everyone else finally showed up.

"Yeah Bakagami why are you picking on poor little Tetsu knowing full well that you're much stronger," I teased as he glared at me.

"Well, its better than being scared," Kiyoshi senpai said as he lend a hand for me to get up.

"Let's go! Our next stop, the winter cup!" Hyuga yelled as we were determined to win.

"Let's beat them all and become the best in Japan!"

As we began to head out I received a text and look to see Shin-chan sent me where we would meet up and at what time. I couldn't help but smile feeling a bit excited about our date, that reply to him immediately.

Alright, I'll see you then Shin-chan.♡

I sent the message and received another message from Rika she went on about how cool I was playing with the guys and how scared she was when they almost hit Tetsu. She also went on hoping Kiyoshi senpai was alright and doing well from his injuries. She even sent a pictures of her with her cousin in Kurasuno and his teammates.

'Looks like she's having fun today, but her cousin's school is a bit far from yosen. So why is she there today?'

Hello everyone I'm back and sadly I'm another year older. Hooray...🥲
I do apologize for not updating this book for the last three months. After returning from my trip I had no inspiration to write or motivation to even edit. So I try to rearrange my room and paint it a different color, it help distract my mind but there are times that I feel down but I do something to distract my mind. I'll try to update soon as I can but if you want to share any ideas for dates or if you want more of Midorima x reader let me know in the comments.
