Revamped (Spanish) Mackerel Onigiri Chazuke
This main course is made by Souma during his cooking duel with Isshiki in his welcome party to his dorm in ep 5
The original dish is pouring green tea into a bowl of cooked rice.
Serving: Around 2 people
Ingredients:
.1 piece of spanish mackerel fillet (You can use salmon sea bream or Mackerel)
.1 tablespoon of olive oil
.2 rice balls
.Suitable amounts of salt, pepper, kelp tea, mince shio kombu, mitsuba
Method:
1. Add salt and pepper to the fish and cut the Mitsuba into chunks. Heat Olive oil in a frying pan and fry the fish, starting with the skin side. Flip the fillet over once the skin is well done and the body becomes white, then let it fry for a few moments and take it out; Cut the fillet into 6 parts
2. mix the rice with the minced shio kombu, then wet your hands and make onigiri with them (Put the fish in the middle of it). After you're done, put the onigiri in the rice
3. Pour the kelp tea into the rice balls, use the Mitsuba from step one as a topping and it's done!
Notes:
.If not olive oil you can use any oil
.If you do not have Mitsuba you can add other herbs
.VEGETARIANS: If you do not eat fish feel free to add whatever you want to the onigiri
.If you absolutely do not like tea but you want to make this recipe feel free to then make this soup/broth
Soup/broth that would go well with this (By the way I tried this so it's ok and is extremely simple to make):
Servings: Around 5-6 people
Ingredients:
.1/4 of a big pot of water
.4-5 tablespoons of fish sauce (not soy sauce)
.2 teaspoons of asian chicken powder (there's a difference)
.1/2 teaspoon salt
.1 teaspoon sugar
.Pinch of pepper
.(Optional) Kelp, seaweed
.As much Minced onion as you want
.As much spring onion as you want
Method:
1. Boil the water in the pot and in a frying pan fry the onion in oil until brown
2. Once boil add the fried onion the kelp or seaweed (If you are using it), add the salt and sugar then add fish sauce, then chicken powder, then pepper and add spring onion on top and it's done!
Notes:
.This soup is extremely simple
.Feel free to add any herbs to it
.You can adjust the soup by yourself, so you can add more salt if desire or add more or less of any of the ingredients
.Remember you must add double the sugar as there is to salt eg. 1 teaspoon salt = 2 teaspoon of sugar 1/2 teaspoon of salt = 1 teaspoon of sugar
.If you do not have like like fish sauce u don't have to put it in just add alot more chicken powder
.If you do not like or have chicken powder you can just add fish sauce
. You can add more or less water
. You do not have to add spring onion
.You can add spring onion at the same time as the kelp or seaweed
